Praise and Worship

Beloved, begin this final day of August with thanksgiving. Thank God because you entered this month and by His mercy you have reached the final day.

Thank Him for battles He fought that you knew nothing about, dangers He prevented, prayers He answered, strength He supplied, provisions He made, people He used to bless you, lessons He taught you, and doors He opened.

Thank Him also for the prayers whose answers you have not yet seen, because God’s faithfulness is not determined only by what your eyes can presently see.

Lift your voice and say, “Father, thank You for carrying me from the beginning of August to the end. I give You all the glory, in Jesus’ name.”

EJOM DAILY DEVOTIONAL: August 31, 2026 – August Shall End in Victory

Beloved, today is the last day of August. Thirty-one (31) days have brought different experiences. For some people, the month of August came with testimonies.

For others, it came with battles and more battles. Some received good news, while others received disappointing news.

Some celebrated their major breakthroughs, while others spent nights crying before God. Some doors opened quickly, while some prayers still appear unanswered.

Some began the month with expectations that have not yet manifested. But regardless of what August has brought into your life, I want you to understand one thing today: your story is not determined merely by how the month started; the ending also matters.

Ecclesiastes 7:8 says, “Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof.” Your ending is better than the beginning. Refuse to allow disappointment to make you forget what God has already done this month.

Beloved, before you rush into declaring victory, pause and give thanks. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 instructs us to give thanks in everything, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning us.

Even in the middle of an imperfect month, there is always something to be grateful for. You are alive. You had strength to work. God kept your family.

He has answered some prayers, even if not all. He did not allow the enemy to prevail over you. You are still standing, still breathing, still believing, still praying, and still moving forward. That itself is evidence of God’s sustaining grace in your life.

Beloved, August shall end in victory. Victory does not mean that everything happened exactly the way you planned. Sometimes victory is the miracle you received. Sometimes victory is the disaster God prevented.

Sometimes victory is surviving something that was supposed to break you. Sometimes victory is walking away from a relationship that was destroying you. Sometimes victory is finally recognising a mistake you had been repeating.

Sometimes victory is finding strength to forgive. Sometimes victory is sleeping and waking up healthy. Sometimes victory is receiving wisdom to change direction.

Sometimes victory is simply discovering that after everything you faced, your faith in God is still alive. Whether you like it or not, God has recorded many victories for you. You may still be expecting other request from God to arrive.

I want to encourage you now: Do not allow one disappointment to summarise your entire month. Human nature often remembers pain more easily than blessings.

Something painful may have happened in the month of August, and because of that one experience you may feel that the entire month was terrible.

Beloved, look at the story of Job. For a long season, Job lost almost everything – his children, his wealth, his health. It looked like his story would end in tragedy.

But the Bible tells us that the Lord turned the captivity of Job, and gave him twice as much as he had before.

His ending was greater than his beginning. That is the God we serve. He does not need a full month to work. He can move in a day, in an hour, in the final moments before a season closes.

The Psalmist declared in Psalm 30:5, “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” Beloved, whatever wept with you through the month of August, joy is coming to meet you before it ends.

God is not limited by calendar dates. A situation that troubled you from the first day of this month can be resolved on the very last day, because with God, one day can undo what many days of struggle could not.

One danger many people fall into is dragging the baggage of a bad month into the next one. They enter a new month still wounded, still discouraged, still defeated by what happened in the one before.

But the Bible teaches us in Lamentations 3:22-23 that the Lord’s mercies are new every morning, great is His faithfulness. God does not want you to carry the failures, the shame, or the pain of August into September.

He wants to close this chapter properly, with healing, restoration, and testimony, so that you step into the new month clean and whole.

Beloved, the Bible tells us in Job 22:28, “Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee.” Do not just hope that August will end well, yo need to decree it. There is power in the spoken word of a believer who stands on God’s promises.

Stop saying, “This month has been terrible,” and start declaring, “This month shall end in victory, in the name of Jesus.” Your words carry authority when they align with God’s Word.

Beloved, as August ends, count your blessings before counting your disappointments. Thanksgiving changes your perspective. It reminds you that God has been present even when everything has not been perfect.

Habakkuk 3:17–18 describes a situation where the fig tree was not blossoming, there was no fruit on the vines, the fields produced no meat, and the flock was cut off from the fold.

Yet Habakkuk declared, “Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.” That is mature faith. It does not pretend that problems do not exist. It simply refuses to allow problems to become greater than God.

Beloved, do not carry unnecessary bitterness from August into September. Someone may have offended you this month. Someone may have disappointed you. Somebody may have promised something and failed you. Somebody may have spoken badly about you.

Perhaps somebody has betrayed your trust. Do not allow yesterday’s offence to occupy tomorrow’s space in your heart. Ephesians 4:31–32 says, “Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you… And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another.”

Forgiveness does not mean pretending wrongdoing was acceptable. It does not mean removing necessary boundaries. It means refusing to allow bitterness to become the ruler of your heart.

Beloved, August should not end with you carrying guilt God wants you to confess and forsake. Examine yourself honestly. Were there things you did this month that you know were wrong? Did you lie? Did you cheat somebody?

Did you speak words you should not have spoken? Did you neglect your prayer life? Did you become involved in a relationship that is pulling you away from God? Did anger control you?

Did pride prevent you from apologising? Did you make financial decisions irresponsibly? Did you repeatedly ignore something God has been dealing with in your conscience?

First John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Beloved, as the month of August ends, review your decisions. Every month teaches us something. Ask yourself: What has worked for you in the month? What did not work for you? What mistake did I make this month?

What habit has helped me? What habit actually delayed me? Where did I waste money on? Where did I waste time? Which relationship strengthened me? And which relationship drained me?

What did God teach me about this month? What should I stop doing? What should I continue doing? What should I begin doing? Lamentations 3:40 says, “Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD.”

Beloved, August shall end in victory because Christ has already given us the ultimate victory. 1 Corinthians 15:57 says, “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Our deepest victory is not found merely in receiving material things. It is found in belonging to Christ. The salvation we have in Jesus is greater than every earthly achievement.

Therefore, whether August gave you everything you requested or whether some prayers remain unanswered, do not end this month defeated in your spirit.

Beloved, before August closes, speak words of faith over yourself. Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” Do not use negative words to show your ingratitude to God. Reject hopeless speech. Speak with faith and responsibility.

Beloved, do not enter another month without learning something new. Knowledge can become part of God’s answer to your prayer. If you are praying for business growth, learn more about your customers, finances, marketing, and operations.

If you are praying for employment, improve your CV and develop relevant skills. If you are praying concerning marriage, learn communication, emotional maturity, responsibility, and biblical principles of relationship.

If you are leading people, develop your leadership capacity. Proverbs 1:5 says, “A wise man will hear, and will increase learning.

Prayer Assignment (Morning and Night) — August Shall End in Victory

Scripture Meditation: Psalm 65:11; Ecclesiastes 7:8; Psalm 126:5–6; Romans 8:37; 1 Corinthians 15:57.

1. Father, I thank You for the gift of life and for bringing me safely to the last day of August, in the name of Jesus.

2. O Lord, thank You for Your mercy that has preserved me and my household from the beginning of this month until today, in the name of Jesus.

3. Father, I thank You for every visible and invisible battle You fought for me throughout August, in the name of Jesus.

4. O Lord, I thank You for every danger You prevented, including those I knew nothing about, in the name of Jesus.

5. Father, I thank You for every prayer You answered and every testimony You gave me this month, in the name of Jesus.

6. O Lord, thank You for the doors You opened, the people You used, and the opportunities You brought my way in August, in the name of Jesus.

7. Father, I thank You for the strength You gave me during every difficult moment of this month, in the name of Jesus.

8. O Lord, I thank You for sustaining me through the days I felt discouraged, tired, disappointed, or confused, in the name of Jesus.

9. Father, I thank You for every lesson You taught me through my experiences in the month of August, in the name of Jesus.

10. O Lord, thank You for Your mercy even despite everything I faced this month, I am still standing by Your grace, in the name of Jesus.

11. Father, according to Ecclesiastes 7:8, let the end of this month be better for me than its beginning, in the name of Jesus.

12. O Lord, let the month of August end with thanksgiving, peace, joy, and victory in my life, in the name of Jesus.

13. Father, let every good thing You have begun in my life continue according to Your perfect will, in the name of Jesus.

14. O Lord, give me grace to finish this month spiritually strong and not discouraged, in the name of Jesus.

15. Father, deliver me from weariness at the edge of my testimony, in the name of Jesus.

22. Father, forgive me for every sin, disobedience, careless word, wrong attitude, and ungodly decision I made this month, in the name of Jesus.

23. O Lord, search my heart and reveal anything I need to correct before entering another month, in the name of Jesus.

24. Father, give me humility to apologise wherever I have genuinely wronged someone, in the name of Jesus.

25. O Lord, give me grace to forgive those who offended, disappointed, betrayed, or hurt me during the month of August, in the name of Jesus.

26. Father, I refuse to carry bitterness from August into the month of September, in the name of Jesus.

27. Father, deliver my heart from anger, resentment, revenge, and unforgiveness, in the name of Jesus.

28. O Lord, give me wisdom to establish healthy boundaries without carrying hatred in my heart, in the name of Jesus.

29. Father, deliver me from every mistake I have repeatedly made because I refused to learn from previous experiences, in the name of Jesus.

34. O Lord, give me courage to make necessary changes instead of repeatedly complaining about the same situations, in the name of Jesus.

35. Father, deliver me from wasting my time on activities that contribute nothing meaningful to my purpose, in the name of Jesus.

36. O Lord, teach me to number my days and apply my heart unto wisdom, in the name of Jesus.

37. Father, help me to identify my priorities for the coming month and give me discipline to pursue them, in the name of Jesus.

38. O Lord, deliver me from unnecessary distractions competing with important assignments in my life, in the name of Jesus.

39. Father, give me wisdom to say no to anything that will unnecessarily drain my time, energy, finances, or spiritual strength, in the name of Jesus.

40. O Lord, help me to finish every assignment You genuinely want me to complete, in the name of Jesus.

Prayer Assignment (Night) — August Shall End in Victory

1. Father, I thank You for keeping me through this month of August, in Jesus’ name.

2. Every plan of the enemy to make me end this month in defeat, I cancel it now, in Jesus’ name.

3. I decree that whatever did not work in my favor in August shall be turned around before the month ends, in Jesus’ name.

4. Father, let this last stretch of August produce breakthroughs that the rest of the month could not, in Jesus’ name.

5. Every arrow fired against my health, finances, family, or destiny this month, I bind it and cast it out now, in Jesus’ name.

6. Lord, let the month of August end with testimonies, not regrets, in Jesus’ name.

7. I reject every spirit of discouragement trying to convince me that this month was wasted, in Jesus’ name.

8. Father, let every seed I have sown in prayer, faith, and obedience this month begin to yield harvest now, in Jesus’ name.

9. I decree that every delayed answer to prayer from this month shall locate me before September begins, in Jesus’ name.

10. Lord, let Your mercy cover every mistake, shortcoming, or missed opportunity from this month, in Jesus’ name.

13. I decree total victory over every battle I have fought this month, whether known to me or hidden, in Jesus’ name.

14. Lord, let this final night of August be a turning point that changes the story of my next season, in Jesus’ name.

15. Father, restore to me anything the enemy has stolen from me since the beginning of this month, in Jesus’ name.

16. I speak peaceful and victorious sleep over my life tonight, free from anxiety about the month that has passed, in Jesus’ name.

17. Lord, let me not carry the weight, stress, or wounds of August into the new month, in Jesus’ name.

18. Every negative report, diagnosis, or word spoken over my life in August, I nullify it by the blood of Jesus, in Jesus’ name.

19. Father, let angels be assigned to settle every unresolved matter in my life before this month ends, in Jesus’ name.

20. I decree that I am closing this month stronger in faith than when it began, in Jesus’ name.

21. Lord, let every dream, vision, or plan birthed in me this August come to full manifestation, in Jesus’ name.

22. Father, let my finances recover fully from every drain or loss experienced this month, in Jesus’ name.

23. I reject every spirit of fatigue and weariness trying to slow me down as this month closes, in Jesus’ name.

24. I decree that no household member of mine will end this month in sorrow, but in celebration, in Jesus’ name.

25. Lord, let every prayer I almost gave up on this month be answered as a testimony before August ends, in Jesus’ name.

26. Father, let me not miss the harvest of the seeds I have sown this month out of impatience, in Jesus’ name.

27. I bind every spirit of sudden setback that specializes in attacking people at the end of a month, in Jesus’ name.

28. O Lord, let Your favor go ahead of me to settle matters I could not settle by my own strength this month, in Jesus’ name.

29. Father, let this be the last time I battle with the particular struggle I have faced throughout August, in Jesus’ name.

30. I decree that my health shall be fully restored before this month gives way to the next, in Jesus’ name.

31. Lord, let every financial door that was shut against me this month be flung open before it ends, in Jesus’ name.

32. Father, let every word of prophecy spoken over my life this month begin manifesting from tonight, in Jesus’ name.

33. I reject the spirit of comparison that makes me feel behind because of how this month went, in Jesus’ name.

34. Lord, let my testimony at the end of August silence every voice that mocked my faith, in Jesus’ name.

35. Father, let this night mark the end of every prolonged battle I have carried since the start of this month, in Jesus’ name.

36. I decree that I am stepping into September lighter, stronger, and more determined than ever, in the mighty name of Jesus.

37. Father, let every hidden battle I fought silently this month be rewarded openly before September begins, in Jesus’ name.

38. I decree that every dream I have been chasing since the beginning of August will not die in this month, in Jesus’ name.

39. Father, let every enemy assigned to frustrate my progress this month be put to shame before it ends, in Jesus’ name.

40. I decree that my labor this month was not in vain, and its reward is already on its way to me, in Jesus’ name.
