MESSAGE: EJOM DAILY DEVOTIONAL: May 29, 2026 – Don’t Quit Too Soon
One of the greatest weapons the enemy uses against believers today is discouragement. Discouragement can weaken a man’s faith. Quitting too soon is largely influenced by the devil to frustrate your abilities to trust in God. The devil knows that if he cannot stop you from starting, he will try to stop you from continuing.
Many people begins their life journey with excitement, faith, and expectation, some even begin it with promises from God but along the way they become tired, frustrated, and discouraged because they do not see results.
Many people are quitting too soon. They stop praying; they stop going to church; they stop fasting; They abandon their dreams just before the breakthrough comes. They walk away from opportunities just before the door opens. They give up on their calling just before God begins to manifest His promises.
Many are quitting to go back to their old lifestyle. Some are quitting to return back to the devil. Giving up that challenge is not an option. It’s true that life is full of challenges, delays, disappointments, and difficult seasons. But we must not allow the challenges overshadow our faith in Christ.
There will always be season of trials and challenges. However, the fact that God has not answered your prayers does not mean He’s silence over your requests. His prolong silence does not mean denial. What God has promised you, He is able to perfect everything that concerns you. At this time, you don’t have to be dustracted.
The farmer does not plant seeds today and expect a harvest tomorrow. He waters the ground, waits patiently, and trusts the process. In the same way, God’s blessings often require our continued patience, faith, and endurance. Every seed of prayer, obedience, sacrifice, faithfulness, and righteousness you sow before now God has a harvest season attached to it.
Many times, God is working behind the scenes when nothing appears to be happening in our life. Just because you cannot see the miracle does not mean God has stopped working. Just because you have not yet fulfill your purpose on earth does not mean God has forgotten you. Seeds grow beneath the soil long before anyone sees the harvest. Likewise, God’s answers are often developing in places your eyes cannot see. Please hold on.
Never judge God’s faithfulness by your current circumstances. Never provoke God into anger by your utterance. Be patience, your breakthrough may be closer than you think. Your answer may be nearer than you imagine. The miracle you have been expecting could be on its way. Therefore, do not quit. Do not surrender to discouragement.
Do not throw away your faith and confidence. Keep believing. Keep praying. Keep trusting. Keep moving forward. Remember this truth: God rewards a person with the spirit of persistence. He honours those who continue believing, praying, serving, and trusting Him despite the tought challenges and troubles.
If God gave you a vision, don’t quit too soon. If God gave you a ministry, don’t quit too soon. If God gave you a promise, don’t quit too soon. If God called you into service, don’t quit too soon. If God has spoken concerning your future, don’t quit too soon. Your harvest is connected to your endurance.
The enemy wants you to focus on your problems. The enemy wants you to curse yourself. The enemy wants you to live a frustrated and confused life. God wants you to focus on His promises daily. Every challenge you face today is temporary, but God’s Word remains forever. Please take time to remember the prayers God has already answered.
Remember the dangers He brought you through. Remember the doors He had opened for you. Remember the battles He fought on your behalf. Remember those times He prospers and blesses you. The God who helped you yesterday has not abandoned you today.
Another reason people quit too soon is because they expect every journey to be easy. But every worthwhile achievement requires endurance and faith in God. Every testimony has a process. Every victory has a battle. Every crown has a race. God specializes in turning impossible situations into testimonies.
He opened the Red Sea when there appeared to be no way forward. He raised Lazarus after four days in the grave. He restored Job after severe suffering. He brought Hannah from barrenness to fruitfulness. The same God who worked in their lives is still working today. He will remember you this season, in Jesus name.
Sometimes God delays our answer because He is preparing something bigger than what you requested. Sometimes He delays because He is still preparing you for the blessing ahead. Sometimes He delays our expectations because the appointed time has not yet come. Whatever the reason maight be, know that His timing is always perfect.
The greatest tragedy is not failing. The greatest tragedy is quitting before victory arrives. Failure can teach us valuable lessons abut life and also lead us to future success. But quitting too soon closes the door on possibilities that God may still have planned for your life.
Sometimes God closes the doors to protect you from future pain. Sometimes He closes one opportunity because a better opportunity is ahead. When a goldsmith refines gold, the metal passes through intense fire. The purpose of the fire is not destruction but purification. God often uses trials in a similar way.
He removes pride, impatience, fear, self-reliance, and unbelief. The process may be uncomfortable, but it produces spiritual strength that cannot be obtained through comfort alone. You must also understand that perseverance attracts divine favour.
God honours those who remain faithful to Him during difficult seasons. Anyone can worship God when everything is going well. Anyone can testify when prayers are answered immediately. But it takes genuine faith to continue praising God, to continue praying, to continue going to church when problems are rising. Heaven pays close attention to that kind of people with that faith.
Encourage someone today who feels discouraged, rejected, or tired of waiting on God. Share Galatians 6:9 with them and remind them that God has not forgotten them. Pray with them and let them know that every season of waiting has an appointed end. Your words of encouragement may be the reason someone chooses not to give up.
