Revealing Secret Things – EJOM DAILY DEVOTIONAL: October 16, 2026
Beloved, there are two kinds of secrets in the earth. There are the secret things of God, and there are the secret works of darkness. The first are hidden for you; the second are hidden against you.
God conceals treasure for His children so that they may seek Him and find it. The enemy conceals traps, covenants, altars and evil arrangements so that men may fall without knowing why.
Many believers are fighting battles they cannot see, suffering losses they cannot explain, and repeating patterns they cannot trace. They pray, but they pray in the dark. They labour, but the labour leaks.
Beloved, nothing is hidden from God. People may conceal their intentions, manipulate information or operate secretly, but God sees everything.
He knows what happens in public and what takes place behind closed doors. He understands every conversation, every motive, every agreement and every plan.
Hebrews 4:13 declares that there is no creature that is not manifest in His sight, but all things are naked and opened unto His eyes. What is mysterious to you is already known to God.
You may be confused about a person, a relationship, a business transaction or a recurring problem, but the Lord understands the entire matter from beginning to end.
Today the Lord is saying: I will bring light where there has been darkness. I will bring clarity where there has been confusion. I will show you what you need to know. There is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets (Daniel 2:28), and He is about to open your eyes.
Beloved, one of the deepest cries rising from the hearts of God’s people today is this: “Lord, reveal secret things to me.” Many people are tired of fighting in the dark. They want to know the source of their problems.
They want to know the solution to their problems. They want to know who, or what, is truly behind their battles. And if they are honest, they also want to know whether they themselves are the cause of the troubles they are facing.
The truth of the matter is that many things are hidden from many people. A great opportunity may be sitting before one man while he walks past it every day. The traps of wickedness may be set on the path of another, and he does not see them until he falls in.
Two people can stand in the same place, yet one sees a door while the other sees a wall. The difference is revelation.
Revelation gives you knowledge and understanding of a matter. It takes you from guessing to knowing. Consider a good doctor. He does not simply administer drugs without first running the necessary tests to ascertain the real problem.
If he treats you without diagnosis, he may treat the wrong ailment while the true sickness grows. In the same way, many people are praying, fasting and struggling against problems they have never properly diagnosed.
They are treating symptoms while the root remains untouched. But when God reveals the real problem, the right solution follows.
Hosea 4:6 declares, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Not for lack of prayer, not for lack of zeal, but for lack of knowledge. What you do not know can destroy you, and what God reveals to you can deliver you.
God is not silent. He has used many platforms to reveal secret things to His people. He speaks through His Word, which is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path (Psalm 119:105).
He speaks through prophecy, through dreams, through visions, through inner revelation by His Spirit, and through people He sends into our lives.
Job 33:14–16 says, “For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed; Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction.” God is speaking; the question is whether we are perceiving.
In fact, God can use the true life story of another person to reveal what you need to know to move into your promised land. The testimony of one man may carry the key to your breakthrough. The mistake of another may be God’s warning to you.
Paul said of Israel’s journey in the wilderness, “Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition” (1 Corinthians 10:11). Never despise the story God places before you. It may be your map to your next move.
There are certain steps in life that must never be taken without revelation. If you are trying to get married, you must pray for God to reveal everything you need to know about the person.
Do not marry a face, money, a voice or a promise only. Ask God to show you the heart, the history and the hidden things. If you are about to visit someone, sign a contract, enter a partnership, or eat from someone’s table, ask God to reveal what you need to know.
The Gibeonites deceived Joshua with old bread and worn out shoes, and Israel entered a covenant with them. Joshua 9:14 gives the reason: “And the men took of their victuals, and asked not counsel at the mouth of the LORD.”
They tasted the evidence with their mouths, but they did not seek the counsel of God with their spirits. That one prayerless agreement bound Israel for generations.
Beloved, before you sign any document or contract, seek the face of God. Before you say yes, inquire of the Lord. Before you eat, discern spiritually. A few minutes in the presence of God can save you many years of regret.
And when you struggle to remember your dreams, ask God to bring them back to you. King Nebuchadnezzar forgot his dream, but the God of Daniel brought it back, along with its interpretation (Daniel 2:28).
The enemy may try to steal your dreams from your memory, but the Holy Spirit can restore every message heaven sent to you in the night.
Sometimes the greatest secret God reveals to a man is the man himself. A person may not know, for many years, that he is the one delaying his own progress, until God reveals it to him, perhaps through a prophet, a sermon or a wise counsellor.
King David did not see his own sin until God sent Nathan the prophet. Nathan told a story, and David’s anger rose against the man in the story. Then Nathan said, “Thou art the man” (2 Samuel 12:7).
In one sentence, a hidden matter was revealed, and David fell on his face in repentance.
Beloved, not every problem we face is from the enemy. Many of the battles we are fighting today are the result of poor decisions, ignorance, pride, negligence, laziness, wrong associations or disobedience.
It is easy to bind the devil, but it is harder to bind our own carelessness. If you blame witches for what your own decisions produced, you will keep praying while the problem keeps growing. But when God shows you your part and you repent, deliverance becomes swift.
God may also reveal matters that prepare you for what is coming. The sons of the prophets knew beforehand that the Lord would take Elijah away that day (2 Kings 2:3, 5). Isaiah came to Hezekiah with a message concerning his life (2 Kings 20:1).
God can reveal to a person what is about to happen to someone close to them, so that they can pray, prepare, make peace, or receive grace for the season ahead. Revelation does not only warn; it equips.
As a child of God, if your discernment signal is dead, you are in trouble. Discernment is your spiritual alarm system. When it is working, it warns you of danger, alerts you to deception and confirms the voice of God.
But when it is dead, you walk into traps with your eyes wide open. With revelation, you will know whether your prayer is working. You will know whether you are winning the battle.
When Elijah prayed for rain on Mount Carmel, he sent his servant to look toward the sea seven times. At the seventh time, the servant said, “Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man’s hand” (1 Kings 18:44).
That small sign told Elijah the answer had come, and he began to run. When Daniel prayed for twenty one days, an angel came and revealed that his words were heard from the first day (Daniel 10:12). Revelation gave him strength to continue.
When God begins to show you secret things, it is a sign that your progress is about to take a big move. God does not reveal the plan of the enemy to a man He intends to abandon. He reveals it to a man He intends to promote.
Revelation is often the announcement of a coming breakthrough.
One of the reasons many people are stagnant today is that they do not know what God wants to do with their lives. They keep labouring in places that are not connected to the assignment and purpose God has given them.
They are busy, but not fruitful. They are working hard, but not working right. Peter said to Jesus, “Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net” (Luke 5:5).
The same sea, the same boat, the same net, but a different result, because now he had a word from the Lord. Revelation turned his empty night into a net breaking catch.
Jonah was also in a ship, but it was the wrong ship heading in the wrong direction. The storm that followed him was not an attack of the enemy; it was the consequence of being out of his assignment.
Beloved, ask God to reveal your purpose. Ask Him to show you where your net should be cast. A man in the right place with the right word will achieve in one season what others could not achieve in many years.
This is a serious matter. If you do not have the spirit of discernment, you will begin to suspect almost everybody, including the very helpers God sent to you. Most times, fear is not discernment. and suspicion is not revelation.
When a person is clouded by fear, they lose the ability to tell the difference between an enemy and a destiny helper. Many people have one bad dream about someone, and immediately they conclude that the person is fighting them.
They stop talking to the person, withdraw from them, begin to treat them with hostility, and sometimes even spread accusations. In the process, they push away the very people God connected to their lifting.
When you are driven by fear, you may lose the trust of others, close doors God had opened, and isolate yourself from your blessings. Not every face you see in a dream is the enemy. Sometimes the enemy wears a familiar face in the dream to make you fight your helpers.
Sometimes the dream is a call to prayer, not a call to fear, panic or separation. When you have a troubling dream about someone, take it to God first. Pray over it, ask for interpretation, watch for confirmation, and seek wise counsel before you take any action.
The Bible says, “God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7). True discernment is calm, clear and confirmed. Fear is hasty, confused and accusing.
God has shown many people the solution to their problems many years ago, but spiritual blindness has prevented them from seeing it. The answer was in the house, but they could not see it. The door was open, but they could not perceive it.
Hagar sat in the wilderness, weeping, waiting for her son to die of thirst. But Genesis 21:19 says, “And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.”
The well did not appear that day; it was already there. Her problem was not the absence of water but the blindness of her eyes. The moment her eyes were opened, death turned to life.
Balaam was riding toward destruction with an angel standing in the way with a drawn sword, and he could not see it, until “the LORD opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way” (Numbers 22:31).
His donkey saw what the prophet could not see. Samson lost his spiritual sight long before the Philistines put out his physical eyes (Judges 16:21), and blindness led him to the grinding mill of the enemy.
This is why one of the first things you must fight as a believer is spiritual blindness. When you are spiritually blind, you fall into traps you should have seen, enter relationships you should have avoided, reject helpers you should have embraced, and walk past solutions that were placed before you.
2 Corinthians 4:4 reveals that the god of this world blinds minds so that the light cannot shine. But Jesus counsels us: “anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see” (Revelation 3:18).
Pray, beloved, as Paul prayed: that “the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling” (Ephesians 1:18). When your eyes are opened, the well appears, the angel is seen, the trap is avoided, and the way forward becomes clear.
Beloved, nothing is hidden from God. People may conceal their intentions, manipulate information or operate in secret, but God sees everything. He knows what happens in public and what takes place behind closed doors.
He hears every whisper spoken in the bedchamber, every agreement signed in the dark, and every plan discussed where no human eye can see. He understands every conversation, every motive, every covenant and every scheme.
Hebrews 4:13 declares, “Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.” Notice the words naked and opened.
Before God, nothing is covered and nothing is closed. There is no mask He cannot see through, no file He cannot open, and no darkness He cannot penetrate. Psalm 139:12 says, “Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.”
What is mysterious to you is already known to God. You may be confused about a person, a relationship, a business transaction or a recurring problem.
You may be asking, “Why does this keep happening? Who is behind this? Where did I go wrong? What is the way forward?” But the Lord understands the entire matter, from its root to its fruit, from its beginning to its end.
He knows the source of the problem, the people involved, the part you played, and the solution that will set you free.
This is good news for every child of God. You do not have to remain in confusion. You do not have to keep fighting in the dark. The same God who sees all things is willing to show you what you need to know.
Jeremiah 33:3 is His invitation: “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”
Today, the Lord is saying: I will bring light where there has been darkness. I will bring clarity where there has been confusion. I will expose what has been working against you, and I will uncover what has been hidden for you.
There is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets (Daniel 2:28), and as you seek Him today, He will open your eyes. When God reveals a matter, verify what can be verified. If it concerns finances, check the records. If it concerns health, seek proper medical examination.
If it concerns a relationship, carry out an investigation. Prayer and careful investigation are not enemies; they are partners. Some things remain hidden simply because we are afraid to ask questions.
A person signs a contract without reading it, accepts a business proposal without investigating it, or marries someone without thorough investigation about the person’s root.
Proverbs 25:2 says, “It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.” Faith does not make you careless; faith makes you diligent. Search, examine, verify and seek wise counsel.
God can also reveal the source of confusion. If your plans keep collapsing, ask Him to show you whether the cause is spiritual opposition, poor preparation, unreliable partnerships, wrong timing or an ineffective strategy.
You cannot properly address what you have refused to identify. A battle correctly diagnosed is a battle half won. God does not only reveal dangers; He reveals destiny.
Isaiah 45:3 promises, “And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.”
There may be a gift within you that has never been developed, an idea that could solve a problem, or a door of favour hidden inside a relationship you have taken for granted.
Joseph was in prison, but one revelation concerning Pharaoh’s dream lifted him from the dungeon to the palace in a single day (Genesis 41). One secret unlocked his throne.
1 Corinthians 2:10 declares, “But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.” Ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes to possibilities you have overlooked.
What you have walked past for years may be the very door to your next level. When you receive revelation, use it with wisdom. Not every secret is meant for public announcement.
Some matters are revealed for prayer, not gossip. Some are shown so you can prepare quietly. Others require discussion only with the appropriate people.
Joseph understood timing. When his brothers came to Egypt, he did not immediately reveal himself. He observed them, tested their character and waited for the proper moment (Genesis 42–45). Wisdom knows both what to say and when to say it.
Never use confidential information to shame, control or manipulate another person. If someone trusted you with a private matter, guard it responsibly, unless keeping it secret would place someone in danger. Godly revelation leads to healing, justice, protection and restoration.
Above all, seek God Himself more than secret knowledge. Some people become so fascinated with mysteries, prophecies and hidden matters that they neglect Scripture and their relationship with Christ. Every revelation must agree with the character and the Word of God.
Deuteronomy 29:29 says, “The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.”
God may not explain everything immediately. Trust Him with what remains hidden, and obey what He has already shown you. When God warned Joseph in a dream to flee to Egypt with the child Jesus, he arose that same night (Matthew 2:14).
Revelation followed by obedience preserves destiny. You do not need to know every secret before you can have peace. Your security rests in God’s knowledge, not in your ability to understand everything.
Even when you cannot see what is happening, the Lord is watching over you. Whatever darkness has concealed, the light of God can reveal.
Whatever confusion has covered, divine wisdom can explain. The God who revealed Nebuchadnezzar’s dream to Daniel can bring clarity into every mysterious situation surrounding your life.
PERSONAL CHALLENGE
Today, set aside a quiet time, preferably in the night watch, to wait on God. Pray two prayers with sincerity: “Lord, expose every hidden plan of darkness against me,” and “Lord, cleanse me from secret faults.”
Keep a notebook by your bed and write down what the Lord shows you this week. Then identify one matter in your life (a contract, a relationship, a recurring problem) that you have avoided examining, and take one practical step to investigate it with prayer and wise counsel.
EVANGELISM CHALLENGE
Someone around you is confused by battles and losses they cannot explain. Share with at least one person today that there is a God in heaven who sees everything and reveals secrets. Tell them that Jesus Christ is the Light of the world, and whoever follows Him shall not walk in darkness (John 8:12). Invite them to give their life to Him.
