Psalm 31:17 
Let me not be ashamed, O Lord; for I have called upon thee: let the wicked be ashamed, and let them be silent in the grave.

Shame and disgrace are a negative force that disorganizes the state of one’s emotion. It has the potential to disappoint people and can often lead to anxiety, depression and self-esteem. It is also a painful feeling that comes with regret, humiliation and dishonour. The experience of shame and disgrace can be deeply unpleasant.

People experiencing shame are in their trial period. These are set of people who have used all manner of prayers to disgrace their shameful situation.  My prayer for you is that, may the Lord have mercy on you. The Bible makes us to understand that shame can come from God. God might decide to put a man to shame as a result of sin.

For example, God puts Adam and Eve to a season of shame and disgrace as a result of their disobedience. Likewise, the devil can judge a person and declare him guilty even when he is not, in order to put him to shame. So shame and disgrace can tarnish the reputation of a person.

The terrible thing about it is that it affects people from the inside and destroys them internally. It could eat away the strength of the confidence of a person. It can disable and amputate a person completely and make him ineffective in the service of the Lord.

There are times when you feel shameful with the spirit of rejection, you feel like a bad person and regret what you did or what other person did. The period of constant shame and disgrace is a season of a person being under one problem or the other. A shameful person can be affected through disappointments or mockery.

You may never know the damage of shame had caused for you physically until you begin to feel its negative impact. Satan could give you gift. Someone might promise to take you abroad but the purpose is to disgrace you. Many people are tied down by this same spirit. Everywhere they go, it is rejection, hatred and reproach. That’s why prayer is the only hope of every believer. We shall be praying against shame and disgrace today.

I want to let you know that the prayers you are about to take now will deliver you from shame, reproach, loneliness, guilt, mockery, and self-pity etc. Perhaps you feel the presence of God has left you as a result of your past. Do not let your heart be troubled, the Holy Spirit is here to draw close to you.

If you can take the powerful prayers carefully outline here by the spirit of God, you should be able to have testimonies to share. But before your happiness, faith and confidence can be restored, it is very important you repent from sin, be always obedient to God and be diligent.
