Introduction

Kidnapping has become one of the most disturbing security challenges facing many nations of the world today. Across different countries, innocent people are being abducted for ransom, political motives, human trafficking, and other criminal purposes. Sadly, Nigeria has witnessed a troubling rise in kidnapping cases over the years, causing fear, pain, and uncertainty among families and communities.

One of the most heartbreaking aspects of this crisis is that kidnappers no longer limit their activities to remote locations. There have been reports of attacks on schools, churches, highways, farms, and even residential communities. Children have been taken from their classrooms, worshippers have been attacked during religious gatherings, and travelers have been targeted while going about their daily activities.

These incidents have left many parents, guardians, and citizens deeply concerned about the safety of their loved ones. As believers, we recognize that while authorities and communities continue working to improve security, prayer remains a powerful way to seek God’s protection, comfort, wisdom, and intervention. The Bible encourages us to pray for those in distress, for the safety of our families, and for peace in our land.

In this post, we will lift our voices to God in prayer against the activities of kidnappers and all forms of violence in Nigeria. We will also pray for the protection of our children, the preservation of innocent lives, the comfort of affected families, and the safe rescue and return of those currently being held captive.

May the Lord stretch forth His mighty hand to protect the vulnerable, strengthen those who are suffering and currently in captivity, and bring hope and restoration to every affected family, in Jesus’ name.

Fasting Instruction

Embark on a 3-day fasting and prayer programme from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM daily. Begin each day by thanking God for His protection over your life, family, community, and nation. Read Psalm 91, Isaiah 54:17, Psalm 121, Isaiah 49:24-26, Psalm 35, and Nahum 1:9  daily. Pray specifically against kidnapping, terrorism, violence, and every form of insecurity.

Ask God to protect innocent people, expose the camps of kidnappers, and grant divine rescue to those currently in captivity. Break your fast with faith and thanksgiving, believing that God is able to deliver, preserve, and restore every captive. Conclude each day by covering yourself and your loved ones with the precious blood of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Special Assignment: During these 3 days, pray daily for the safety of school children, worshippers, travelers, and security personnel. Ask God to turn every planned kidnapping operation into failure and confusion, and to grant supernatural freedom to those held captive.

Declaration for Nigeria

We declare peace over Nigeria. We declare safety over our schools, roads, communities, and families. We pray for wisdom and courage for those working to rescue victims and protect lives.

We ask God to comfort all affected families, preserve those currently in captivity, and rescue them from kidnapper’s den. May justice prevail, evil plans fail, and may God’s protection rest upon the nation, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
