Refuse To Be Discouraged- EJOM DAILY DEVOTIONAL: September 19, 2026
Discouragement is one of the greatest battles many people face when life does not go according to their expectations. You prayed, but nothing appears to have changed.
You worked hard, but the expected result did not come. You started something with excitement, but difficulties arose along the way. You trusted someone, but the person disappointed you.
You thought you would have gone farther in life by now, but when you look at your present condition, it seems as though you are still struggling with things you expected to have overcome years ago.
At such moments, discouragement can quietly enter the heart and make you feel that there is no reason to continue.
To be discouraged means to lose confidence, hope, enthusiasm or the willingness to keep going because of difficulties, disappointment or repeated setbacks.
Discouragement can affect anyone. A pastor can become discouraged, business owner can become discouraged.
A parent can become discouraged, student can become discouraged. A person waiting for marriage, employment, healing, financial improvement or an answered prayer, at a point, can become discouraged.
Feeling discouraged does not necessarily mean that you have no faith; what matters is what you do when discouragement comes.
There is a difference between experiencing discouragement and surrendering your life to it. Difficult circumstances may temporarily affect our emotions, but you must not allow those emotions to determine the direction of your life.
You may feel tired, but you do not have to quit. You may feel disappointed, but you do not have to become hopeless. You may cry, but after the tears, you must find the strength to rise again.
