The word marathon means covering a long distance running race. In a spiritual tone, marathon fasting is when a person takes a fasting for a long period of time without food intake or drinking of water.

It is also considered as dry fast! Today, we are dealing with the spirit of ember months.

Taking a marathon fasting is one of the best spiritual exercises. It takes your interest away from food completely and deny your flesh for a certain period of time. The best example of this marathon was our Lord Jesus who fasted for 40 days and 40 nights (Matthew 4:2). According to the passage, it was during the season of His fast that the devil came to tempt our Lord Jesus.

Another great person in the Bible account was Daniel, In Daniel 10:1-3, In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed unto Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing was true, but the time appointed was long: and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision. In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks. I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.”

You are welcome to our 24-hour marathon fasting and prayers. A full day fasting programme. It will commence from 12:00 Midnight – 11:59 pm on Thursday all in 31st of August 2017. In the period of this  marathon exercise, there is no food, water, others are fighting, backbitten, anger, envyness, smoking, fornication, hatred, strife, witchcraft, sedition, emulation, jealousy, disobedience etc Gal 5.

If you notice that you will be allergic to food, water, or even sex, kindly withdraw your interest from it. But if you know that you can overcome any kinds of temptation in the course of this fasting,  be strong and then victory will be yours, in Jesus name.

Brethren, This is an important fasting programme and if you are serious about this exercise, you will see the downfall of your enemies in these ember months in Jesus name. You know, the downfall of your enemies is a launching pad to your greatness and breakthroughs. David’s enemies, including Goliath was put down by the power of God that resides in arrows!

Ember months has been considered to be a period where all kinds of evil occurrences and bad news happened to the children of God ranging from road accident, untimely death, sorrow, weeping, mourning sickness, spiritual attacks, demotion etc.

The negative occurrences encompasses everything that we daily experience in life and destiny. The plans of the devil is known for destruction. As a Christian, we must put on the new whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil (Ephesians 6:11).

Who are the wiles of the devil? They are the powers that has been assigned, programmed to make you cry and sorrow over a loved person in these ember months. These are demons that hate to see you prosper. They may not necessarily be  demons with heavy mask on their faces or evil charms on their body, No. Rather, they are powers ready to waste you like fowl and chickens!

The Bible understand this better and  hence encourage Christians in these ember months to wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places (Eph 6:12).

On of the key areas to overcome the spirit of ember months is to stay away from sin. Jesus hate sin. Elijah hate to see sin. John the baptist hate sin. Hannah hate sin. Sarah fight against sin. Today, we are celebrating these great people in our present life. Why? Because they try as much possible to deal with their flesh and sin as a whole. So if you must see the hands of God in your life, or if you want God to use the following prayer points to answer your prayers, you must repent from your sins.

3. O God arise and scatter thousands of blood sucking demons  and eaters of flesh setting themselves against me in these ember months, in the name of Jesus (Psalm 3:6)

5. Every power speaking evil words into my destiny, be rendered null and void, in the name of Jesus (Psalm 5:6).
