Worship Him because He is able to remove obstacles, give wisdom for difficult situations, strengthen weak hands, restore lost courage, and lead His children forward.

 

EJOM DAILY DEVOTIONAL: August 13, 2026 – What Is Fighting Your Progress?

Beloved, there comes a time in the life of every serious person when you must sit down and ask yourself this same question honestly before God: What exactly is fighting my progress? There are many things fighting the progress of many people today, and not all of them look big.

Most of the things fighting people starts small especially things people don’t even count as serious. Some of them are big, the things people already know but refuse to deal with. So today, I want you to stop and ask yourself this simple question, what is fighting your own progress?

For some people, the thing fighting them is just unforgiveness. Somebody offended them years ago, and till today, they have not let it go. They smile with the person, they even greeted each other, but inside their heart, there is still pain, there is still bitterness.

Beloved, that small unforgiveness, can be the thing tying down your blessing. You may be praying well, fasting consistently but that one small offence you refuse to release, may be the very obstacle blocking your breakthrough.

Ask yourself these questions honestly, for they matter greatly: Why am I still struggling with something I ought to have overcome years ago? Why do I keep starting things but find it difficult to finish them or see them through to completion? Why do I keep going around the same mountain, year after year?

Why do opportunities draw near to me, only to disappear at the last moment? Why does it seem that each time I am about to make real progress, something suddenly happens to pull me backward? Why do I keep experiencing the same patterns, whether in my finances, my relationships, my career, my business, my ministry, my marriage, my education, or my spiritual walk?

Beloved, these questions matter, because you cannot effectively confront what you have refused to identify. Just as a doctor cannot properly treat a sickness without first diagnosing it correctly, so also you cannot successfully confront the enemy of your progress until you first understand what is actually fighting you.

Understand this clearly: movement is not always the same thing as progress. A person can be extremely busy, working from morning until night, and yet remain exactly where they are. A person can work tirelessly and still fail to address the real, underlying issue affecting their progress.

A person can pray many prayers while stubbornly refusing to correct the very habit that keeps producing the same recurring problem. This is precisely why today’s teaching is not simply asking, “Who is fighting your progress?” as though it must always be a person. Today we are asking a deeper, more searching question: “What is fighting your progress?”

Some are asking: ”Why am I fighting this battle? Who is behind my problems”. These are important questions many people are asking, but they require wisdom because not everything fighting your progress comes from the same source. Sometimes the source may be from your foundation.

Sometimes the problem may be as a result of wrong relationship. Sometimes it may be as a result of poor decisions or mistakes. Sometimes it may be as a result of fear. Sometimes it may be procrastination. Sometimes it may be as a result of lack of preparation. Sometimes it is refusing to learn something new.

Sometimes it is an unwillingness to change a strategy that is obviously not working. Sometimes it may be indiscipline. Sometimes it may be an unhealthy environment. Sometimes it may simply be that God’s timing is different from yours. Therefore, before fighting, you must first understand what you are fighting.

You cannot solve a problem accurately when you have diagnosed it wrongly. For another person, what is fighting their progress is procrastination. You have carried the idea for three years now, yet you have not started.

You keep saying you will write the book, register for the course, apply for the opportunity, learn the skill, make that important call, begin the business, apologise to that person, or attend to that responsibility you keep avoiding, yet you continually postpone it.

Beloved, there are certain things prayer alone will not do for you, because God has already given you the ability and the opportunity to take the first step yourself. Stop waiting for every condition to become perfect before you move. Beloved, some doors only open after you have already begun to walk.

For another person, what is fighting their progress is fear. You are afraid of failing, so you never attempt it at all. You are afraid of what people will say about you, so you remain exactly where you are. You are afraid of rejection, so you never even apply or try.

You are afraid because something failed once before, so you have quietly concluded that it will always fail. Beloved, fear can imprison a person without ever placing a single chain on their hands.

You may have the ability, the opportunity, and even the support of others, yet fear keeps whispering to you, “Do not try it.” But beloved, courage does not mean the absence of fear; courage means you refuse to let fear make your decisions for you.

And for some, what is fighting their progress is wrong association. The people closest to you can shape how you think, what you believe is possible for your own life, and the decisions you ultimately make.

If the people surrounding you constantly discourage growth, mock discipline, celebrate irresponsibility, and attack every genuine attempt you make to improve yourself, then you need the wisdom to distance yourself from that association. Proverbs 13:20 tells us plainly, “He that walketh with wise men shall be wise.”

Beloved, you do not have to hate anyone to protect your own destiny, but you must understand that relationships carry real influence. Some people will encourage your growth; others will continually pull you back into an old, defeated version of yourself.

Sometimes, beloved, what is fighting your progress is pride. Pride prevents a person from asking questions when they genuinely do not understand something. Pride makes people pretend they know what they clearly do not know.

Pride makes correction feel like an attack, so instead of receiving it and growing, they become defensive and stay exactly where they are. Pride can keep a person doing something wrongly for years, simply because they refuse to let anyone teach them.

Beloved, if somebody knows what you do not know, sit at their feet and learn. You do not become smaller because you asked for help; rather, humility can save you years of unnecessary mistakes and wasted time.

Sometimes what is fighting progress is inconsistency. You start today, you stop tomorrow, you return next month, you disappear again, and then you wonder why somebody who started long after you has already gone far ahead. Beloved, progress demands consistency.

You cannot exercise your body once and expect permanent fitness. You cannot study once and expect mastery over a subject. You cannot pray seriously for two days and expect to attain spiritual maturity. You cannot work diligently only when you feel motivated and still expect extraordinary results.

Beloved, small actions repeated consistently will always produce greater results than an effort approached only once in a while.

There are people today blaming spiritual opposition for what is, in truth, simply a lack of discipline. They arrive late everywhere. They cannot keep to their commitments. They start projects with great enthusiasm and abandon them halfway. They spend money carelessly without any plan.

They refuse correction whenever it is offered. They neglect the development of their own skills. Yet the moment consequences begin to show, everything suddenly becomes “an attack from the enemy.” Beloved, prayer is powerful, but prayer must never become an excuse for irresponsibility.

God can open a door for you in a moment, but you must also build the character required to remain useful and fruitful once you walk through that door.

If you blame the enemies for something wisdom and discipline can correct, you may continue praying while the real problem remains untouched. There are people praying for financial progress while refusing to manage money wisely.

Money enters their hands and disappears without planning, saving, budgeting, or accountability. Then when financial pressure comes, they conclude that somebody is attacking their finances.

If you blame the enemy for something that wisdom and discipline could easily correct, you may find yourself praying endlessly while the real problem remains completely untouched.

There are people praying fervently for financial progress while stubbornly refusing to manage money wisely. Money enters their hands and disappears just as quickly, with no planning, no saving, no budgeting, no accountability to anyone.

Then when the financial pressure eventually comes, they quietly conclude that somebody, somewhere, must be attacking their finances.

Beloved, prayer is powerful, but prayer does not, and should not, replace financial wisdom. Ask God for provision, but also learn stewardship. Pray for increase, but also learn to control unnecessary expenses. Pray for opportunities, but also prepare yourself adequately to handle them when they come.

God is not slack concerning His promises to you. If you have truly prayed, truly fasted, truly worked, truly sought God with sincerity, then know this, your labour is not in vain. But today, before you continue running the same race the same way, stop and ask the Holy Spirit this simple, humbling question: “Lord, what is fighting my progress?”

And beloved, when He answers you, whether it points to a spiritual attack, a generational pattern, or something within you that needs to change, receive that answer with humility, and let today mark the beginning of your true breakthrough. The mountain you have been standing around is about to move, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

Beloved, one mistake many people make is assuming that everything fighting their progress must come from the same source. It is true that the Bible teaches us about spiritual opposition. Paul said in 1 Corinthians 16:9, “For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.”

There are times when genuine opposition arises against what God is doing in a person’s life. Nehemiah faced Sanballat and Tobiah when he was rebuilding the wall of Jerusalem. Joseph faced hatred from his brothers because of the future God revealed concerning him.

Daniel encountered opposition from people who wanted to remove him from his position. Therefore, we should not pretend that opposition does not exist. However, wisdom also requires us to understand that not everything is caused by an enemy.

Sometimes what is fighting your progress is your own attitude. If you blame an enemy for what your own behaviour is producing, you may pray for many years without addressing the actual problem.

If you believe you are facing spiritual opposition, pray seriously, but remain balanced and wise. Do not begin accusing relatives, neighbours, colleagues, or friends without evidence. Do not allow suspicion to destroy healthy relationships.

Pray against every plan contrary to God’s will, ask God for discernment, and continue taking responsible steps toward your goals. Spiritual warfare should make you prayerful, not paranoid. God has not called you to spend every day searching for enemies; He has called you to follow Christ and fulfil your assignment.

Another thing that can fight progress is carrying yesterday everywhere you go. Some people are physically in 2026, but emotionally they are still living in what happened years ago. Somebody betrayed them, somebody rejected them, a business failed, a relationship ended, or an opportunity was lost, and since then they have been afraid to move forward.

Beloved, learn from yesterday, but do not build your house there. You cannot change what happened, but with God’s help you can decide what you will do next. Your painful chapter does not have to become the final chapter of your story.

Sometimes what is fighting your progress is your mouth. You constantly speak defeat over yourself. “Nothing works for me.” “Everybody in my family fails.” “I can never succeed.” “I am tired of this life.” “I don’t think luck is on my side.”

Beloved, stop reinforcing hopelessness with your own words. This does not mean pretending problems do not exist. Faith is not denial. But you can acknowledge a problem without declaring yourself permanently defeated by it. Speak truth, hope, wisdom, and faith. Say, “This season is difficult, but with God’s help I will continue moving forward.”

Another enemy of progress is distraction. Some people are extremely busy but are not actually progressing. They spend their energy on things that have little connection with their purpose. Every argument attracts them. Every social-media controversy gets their attention. Every person’s opinion disturbs their peace.

Every invitation receives a yes. At the end of the day, they are exhausted but have accomplished little that truly matters. Beloved, activity is not the same as progress. You must learn to protect your attention. Some things deserve your response; others deserve your silence.

Unforgiveness can also fight progress. When you carry bitterness everywhere, the person who hurt you continues occupying space in your mind. You wake up thinking about them, sleep thinking about them, and repeatedly rehearse what they did.

Forgiveness does not mean that wrongdoing was acceptable, nor does it mean you must remove wise boundaries. It means you refuse to allow another person’s actions to control your heart indefinitely. Sometimes moving forward requires releasing what happened behind you.

Lack of knowledge can fight progress. Hosea 4:6 says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” There are prayers you have prayed that may require knowledge to accompany them. If you want to grow a business, learn business.

If you want to improve your marriage, learn communication and responsibility. If you want to become effective in ministry, study Scripture diligently. If you want to improve your career, develop relevant skills. Do not be ashamed to learn. What you do not know today can become what you know tomorrow if you are humble enough to learn.

Beloved, another thing that can fight progress is refusing to accept responsibility. As long as everything is somebody else’s fault, you will never examine what you can change.

Your parents may have made mistakes. People may have treated you unfairly. Circumstances may have been difficult. There may even have been genuine opposition. But after acknowledging what others did, you must still ask, “What can I do differently from today?”

Responsibility does not mean blaming yourself for everything; it means recognising the part of your future that requires your participation.

And sometimes what is fighting progress is simply that the strategy needs to change. You can be hardworking and still be using an ineffective method. Peter and the other fishermen laboured throughout the night and caught nothing, but when Jesus directed them differently, the outcome changed.

Do not be so emotionally attached to a method that you refuse to examine whether it is working. Your purpose may remain the same while your strategy changes. Wisdom knows the difference.

Sometimes what is fighting progress is failure to learn from mistakes. Everybody makes mistakes, but wisdom demands that we learn from them.

If you continue making the same decision, entering the same destructive pattern, trusting the same type of unreliable person, spending money the same careless way, ignoring the same warning signs, and then experiencing the same painful outcome, you must stop and examine the pattern.

A mistake can become a lesson, but a lesson you refuse to learn can become a cycle. God may deliver you from a problem today, but if you continue doing exactly what created the problem, you may find yourself in the same place again tomorrow.

Another thing fighting many people’s progress is impatience. They want everything immediately. If a business does not become profitable quickly, they abandon it. If a ministry does not grow immediately, they conclude that God has not called them.

If a relationship encounters difficulties, they immediately want to leave without first examining whether the problems can be responsibly resolved. If they begin learning a skill and do not become excellent within a short period, they become discouraged. Beloved, some things take time.

A farmer does not plant today and dig up the seed tomorrow because he cannot see the harvest. There is a season for planting, watering, waiting, growing, and harvesting. Do not destroy a healthy process because you are impatient for visible results.

Beloved, God told Israel in Deuteronomy 2:3, “Ye have compassed this mountain long enough.” There comes a season when you must decide that you cannot continue circling the same mountain. You cannot spend another year repeating the same excuses.

You cannot keep praying about something while refusing every instruction that requires change. You cannot continually blame people for what you have the responsibility to correct. You cannot remain connected to habits that are destroying your future and still complain that progress is slow.

At some point you must rise and say, “Enough is enough. By the grace of God, something must change.” There are people who have abandoned good opportunities simply because the journey became difficult. The moment they encountered resistance, they concluded that God was not involved.

But almost every meaningful achievement requires endurance. Building a business requires endurance. Maintaining a healthy marriage requires effort. Raising children requires patience. Growing spiritually requires discipline. Building a ministry requires faithfulness.

Developing a career requires learning and consistency. If you expect progress without resistance, you may repeatedly abandon good things whenever difficulties arise. Ask God for the wisdom to distinguish between a closed door and a difficult door.

Another obstacle to progress is refusing to prepare for the opportunity you are praying for. Some people want doors to open but are doing little to prepare themselves to walk through those doors. If you are praying for employment, improve your skills and prepare yourself professionally.

If you are praying for business growth, learn better financial management and customer service. If you desire greater responsibility, become responsible with what is already in your hands. If you desire ministry growth, develop your knowledge of Scripture, character, leadership, and ability to care for people.

Preparation does not replace prayer; preparation works together with prayer. There are times when what is fighting your progress may simply be the wrong strategy. You can work hard and still need to work differently. Hard work is valuable, but wisdom helps you determine whether your effort is producing the desired result.

If something has repeatedly failed, do not be afraid to examine your approach. Ask questions. Seek advice. Learn from people with relevant experience. Make adjustments. Changing your method does not necessarily mean abandoning your vision.

Another enemy of progress is the desire to please everybody. You cannot build your life around everyone’s opinion. If you require universal approval before taking responsible steps, you may remain stuck for years. Listen to wise counsel, respect people, remain humble, but understand that not everyone will agree with every decision you make.

Some people may misunderstand you. Others may criticize you. Do not become rebellious or arrogant, but do not surrender your convictions simply because somebody may be disappointed.

Beloved, do not spend your strength fighting shadows while the real problem remains untouched. There is no wisdom in binding and rebuking every day while refusing to correct a destructive habit. There is no wisdom in praying for financial breakthrough while refusing to control unnecessary spending.

There is no wisdom in praying for favour at work while continually behaving irresponsibly. There is no wisdom in asking God for good relationships while treating people badly. There is no wisdom in asking God to enlarge your influence while refusing to develop your character. Prayer and responsibility are not enemies. Faith and wisdom belong together.

Today, ask God sincerely, “Lord, what is fighting my progress?” Do not tell God what you have already decided the answer must be. Allow Him to search you. Perhaps He will reveal something you need to pray against. Perhaps He will show you something you need to stop doing.

Perhaps He will expose a habit you need to change, a relationship you need to reconsider, a skill you need to develop, a responsibility you have neglected, an offence you need to release, or an opportunity you have been too afraid to pursue. Whatever He reveals, do not merely become emotional about it; take the necessary step.

Today, I want you to stop for a moment and ask yourself sincerely: What is really fighting my progress? Do not answer too quickly. Pray about it. Think about it. Examine your patterns. Look at the areas where you repeatedly struggle. Ask trusted and wise people what they observe. Sometimes other people can see a pattern that you cannot see yourself.

If it is fear, confront it with faith and courageous action. If it is procrastination, begin today. If it is laziness, develop discipline. If it is pride, humble yourself and learn.

If it is financial indiscipline, create structure. If it is a destructive relationship, establish healthy boundaries. If it is lack of knowledge, study. If it is bitterness, begin the process of forgiveness. If it is distraction, refocus. If it is spiritual opposition, pray and stand firmly in Christ. If it is a season of preparation, use the season wisely.

Do not keep fighting the wrong battle. You cannot cast out procrastination and then refuse to start. You cannot pray against poverty while refusing every opportunity to learn financial discipline. You cannot pray for promotion and continually arrive unprepared.

You cannot pray for a peaceful marriage while refusing to control your words. You cannot pray for good relationships while treating people badly. You cannot pray for greater responsibility while being careless with the little already entrusted to you.

At the same time, beloved, do not blame yourself for everything that goes wrong. There are things outside your control. There are unjust systems, economic difficulties, unexpected losses, health challenges, other people’s decisions, closed doors, disappointments, and circumstances you did not create.

There are also situations where genuine spiritual opposition may be involved. That is why you need discernment. Do not become a person who blames the devil for everything, but do not become spiritually careless either. Pray, observe patterns, examine your behaviour, seek wise counsel where necessary, and take responsible action. Spiritual discernment and practical wisdom should work together.

Beloved, examine your motives as well. Sometimes we say we want progress when what we really want is recognition. We want success so that certain people will regret rejecting us. We want money so that we can prove something. We want influence so that people will respect us.

We want ministry growth because we are competing with another minister. When your motive is unhealthy, even success may not give you peace. Ask God to purify your motives so that your desire for progress does not turn into pride, unhealthy competition, or revenge.

If you are a pastor or minister, ask yourself what may be fighting the progress of your ministry. Is it lack of prayer? Poor administration? Lack of accountability? Financial mismanagement? Pride? Failure to develop leaders? Refusing correction? Neglecting your family? Competition with other ministries?

Lack of preparation? Beloved minister, not every ministry problem is caused by spiritual attack. Sometimes God is calling us to improve our leadership, character, structure, wisdom, and stewardship. Pray against spiritual opposition, but also correct what needs to be corrected.

If you are in business, ask yourself what is fighting your progress. Is it poor customer service? Lack of consistency? Mixing personal and business finances? Refusing to keep records? Lack of innovation? Wrong partnerships? Impulsive spending? Dishonesty? Insufficient knowledge of your market? Pray for customers and favour, but also examine the quality of what you offer.

If you are believing God for marriage, ask yourself whether fear, unrealistic expectations, desperation, poor boundaries, unresolved emotional wounds, or repeatedly choosing unhealthy relationships may be affecting your journey.

Do not blame yourself for circumstances outside your control, but remain willing to grow in areas that are within your control.

If you are experiencing slow progress in your career, examine whether you need additional skills, qualifications, networking, better communication, stronger discipline, or a different strategy. Prayer does not remove the responsibility to develop yourself.

Beloved, Deuteronomy 1:6 says, “Ye have dwelt long enough in this mount.” There comes a time when you must become dissatisfied with unnecessary stagnation. There comes a time when you must stop making excuses and begin making changes.

There comes a time when you must stop talking endlessly about what went wrong and start asking what you can do differently.

Beloved, you have stayed around some mountains long enough. You have repeated some mistakes long enough. You have entertained some distractions long enough. You have postponed some important decisions long enough. You have allowed fear to speak long enough. You have underestimated yourself long enough.

You have carried some offences long enough. It is time to move forward. Do not be afraid of starting small. Progress does not always begin with a dramatic breakthrough. Sometimes progress begins with waking up earlier. Sometimes it begins with submitting an application.

Sometimes it begins with making a phone call. Sometimes it begins with apologizing. Sometimes it begins with creating a budget. Sometimes it begins with enrolling in a course. Sometimes it begins with ending an unhealthy habit. Sometimes it begins with returning to prayer. Sometimes it begins with admitting, “I need help.”

Beloved, true progress is bigger than money, houses, cars, positions, titles, marriage, popularity, or material possessions. You can increase materially while decreasing spiritually. You can become popular while losing your character. You can become wealthy while losing your peace.

True progress includes becoming wiser, more disciplined, more responsible, more spiritually mature, more fruitful, more loving, more trustworthy, and more aligned with God’s purpose.

There are things God may need to remove from you before He adds certain things to you, because what He removes may be the very thing that would have destroyed what He intended to give

Beloved, perhaps you have remained on this mountain long enough. Maybe today is the day to identify what has been holding you back and begin dealing with it. Do not spend another year repeating the same cycle if God has already shown you what needs to change.

You may not be able to change everything today, but you can take one meaningful step today. The mountain before you may look great, but Zechariah 4:7 asks, “Who art thou, O great mountain?” By the grace of God, mountains can become plains.

Therefore, refuse to surrender your future to whatever has been fighting your progress. Bring the matter before God. Examine yourself honestly. Receive correction humbly. Seek wisdom. Take responsibility. Pray fervently. Make necessary changes. And when God opens the way, have the courage to move.

Your prayer today should be: “Lord, reveal anything within me or around me that is unnecessarily hindering my progress. Give me wisdom to recognize it, courage to confront it, discipline to make the necessary changes, and grace to continue moving in the direction You have prepared for me.”

Beloved, you have dwelt around that mountain long enough. It is time to move forward.

The mountain before you may look great, but Zechariah 4:7 asks, “Who art thou, O great mountain?” Mountains can become plains. Patterns can change. Habits can be broken. Knowledge can be acquired. Relationships can be healed where both parties are willing. Strategies can improve.

Therefore, do not be afraid of honest examination. If there is a mountain, confront it. If there is a weakness, work on it. If there is a mistake, correct it. If there is something you need to learn, learn it. If there is an unhealthy pattern, break it. If there is an adversary, stand in prayer and wisdom.

If there is a door God has opened, walk through it courageously. You have spent enough time around certain mountains. You have cried enough about some situations. You have complained enough about certain patterns.

Now ask for wisdom, receive direction, take responsibility for what is within your control, trust God concerning what is beyond your control, and begin moving forward.

Do not give up on your progress because the journey has been slow. Do not measure your life only by somebody else’s speed. Look at where God brought you from. Look at what you have learned. Look at what needs to change. Then keep moving.

God can open the door, but you must be willing to walk through it. God can give you wisdom, but you must apply it. God can provide an opportunity, but you must prepare yourself. God can expose what is fighting your progress, but you must be willing to confront it.

With God’s help, wisdom, discipline, prayer, perseverance, correction, and responsible action, you can move beyond where you have been. The important thing is to identify the real battle and stop fighting the wrong one.

You have compassed this mountain long enough. It is time to rise, confront what must be confronted, change what must be changed, pray about what must be prayed about, and move forward in the name of Jesus.

Beloved, this is your season to move forward. Whatever has kept you unnecessarily on the same mountain must be confronted. Whatever needs repentance, repent. Whatever needs prayer, pray.

Whatever needs discipline, discipline yourself. Whatever needs wisdom, learn. Whatever needs forgiveness, release it. Whatever needs boundaries, establish them. Whatever needs courage, take the step now.

 

Prophetic Declaration

I declare over your life today that every power, obstacle, limitation, and resistance fighting your progress shall give way, in the name of Jesus. Every mountain standing between you and your next level shall become a plain.

You shall not remain where you have been; you shall move forward spiritually, financially, professionally, maritally, and in every good area of your life. May the Lord expose every hidden habit, wrong decision, unhealthy relationship, distraction, fear, and weakness contributing to stagnation, and give you the wisdom and courage to make the necessary changes.

Every good door that has been repeatedly closed shall open according to God’s will, every opportunity meant for your advancement shall not be wasted, and every genuine opposition against God’s purpose for your life shall be overcome.

I declare that this is not your season to go backward; you shall rise, advance, recover, grow, and make measurable progress. You have compassed that mountain long enough. By the grace of God, you are moving forward, and nothing contrary to His purpose shall stop you, in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

 

Personal Challenge

Today, take some quiet time and honestly ask yourself, “What is really fighting my progress?” Do not be quick to blame an enemy, your family, your background, your spouse, your colleagues, the economy, or spiritual opposition. First examine yourself before God.

Could it be procrastination, fear, inconsistency, poor financial decisions, lack of discipline, wrong associations, anger, pride, distraction, laziness, comparison, unforgiveness, lack of preparation, refusal to accept correction, or a habit you already know you need to change?

Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal anything within your control that has been slowing you down. At the same time, if there are circumstances genuinely beyond your control, ask God for wisdom, strength, favour, and direction concerning them rather than condemning yourself.

After identifying one major obstacle, take one practical step against it today. If procrastination is fighting you, begin what you have been postponing. If lack of knowledge is the problem, start learning. If financial indiscipline is affecting you, review your spending and make a realistic plan.

If fear has kept you from applying for an opportunity, prepare yourself and take the necessary step. If distraction is consuming your time, remove one unnecessary distraction. If a repeated character weakness is damaging your relationships or opportunities, acknowledge it and begin working seriously on it.

If you need counsel, speak with someone trustworthy and mature. Do not finish today’s devotional with only prayer and inspiration; let there be an action that demonstrates your willingness to move forward.

Your personal challenge today is this: Stop fighting the wrong battle. Identify one thing that has been hindering your progress, confront it honestly before God, and take one definite step toward change today. You have compassed that mountain long enough.

1. Heavenly Father, I thank You for the gift of another day and for every progress You have already given me, in the name of Jesus.

3.  Every mountain standing between me and the good place God is leading me, become a plain, in the name of Jesus.

4. O Lord, where I have been going around the same mountain, give me wisdom and courage to move forward, in the name of Jesus.
