SIN SHALL NOT BE MY IDOL
Today is DAY 3 of the 21 days MIDNIGHT PRAYERS.
TIME: 12:00am -1:00am (Nigerian Time). Kindly start the prayers at exactly 12:00am
Isaiah 59:1-3 says, Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.
Romans 8:35 says, ”Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?”
Joshua 24:15 says, “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”
Hebrew 10:31 says, It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
Exodus 32:33 says, And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.
1 Cor 10:28 says, But if any man say unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto idols, eat not for his sake that shewed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof:
Brethren, sin is an extension of darkness. if you read Deuteronomy 28:15-68, you will see a variety of problem that SIN can cause. In Numbers 32:23 says if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out. Every sin committed by man has a connection with the idols of the spirit. The idolatry spirit is a spirit that fights against holiness (I Sam 15:23) If you worship a particular sin, that is, you keep maintaining that sin in your life, such sin becomes an idol and God’s judgement will fall upon you until you repent. Breaking the idol of sin is as hard as staying away from it. Any sin committed by you foam an idol in your spiritman. Everytime you pray, your prayers would be distorted by the spirit of the idol. The spirit of the idol is the spirit that work with our sins. They feed on sin and stay by it. You can decide to tell God that you want to deal with the sin and be set free today.
When you have the spirit of anger, anger becomes your idol. When you fornicate, fornication becomes your idol. When you perpetrate in wickedness, wickedness becomes your idols. When you steal, stealing could be your idol. Before you deal with the idol of your father’s house or mother’s house, you must first deal with the idol of your spirit which is sin. If you fail to repent, it will become a strongman over your life and destiny. It is a fact that anyone who indulges in sin cannot inherit the kingdom of God. It is only sin that can make God to punish someone. Whatever secret sin you are practising according to Galatian 5, it will blow against you in future. God knows that righteousness is the hallmark of power. If you seek righteousness and get rid of that idolatry powers tonight, every other thing shall be added to you. TRY IT TODAY!
The Bible says, REPENT NOW FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS AT HAND. The fact that you are hiding the sin from God or man does not make you a wise person or an intelligent one. One day, the sin will find you out. Know that every secret lifestyle is open to God (Hebrews 4:13) Any unconfessed sin brings God’s wrath upon you. If you are a masturbator, adulterous, rapist, thief, home breaker, liar, smoker, fraudster, etc, you cannot see the glory of God in your life except you REPENT (Matt 6:33)!
Similarly, it could also be that you have a child elsewhere and you have been hiding it from your parents, friends etc REPENT today! That sin you are hiding could be a STRONG TOOL holding your blessings.
CONFESSION: Proverbs 28:13 says, He that covereth his sin shall not PROSPER: but whoso CONFESSETH and FORSAKETH them shall have mercy. (Start confessing those sins to God or possibly tell your pastor if you are led)

”My Father, I confess my secret sins before you tonight. I know that I am not worthy of this prayer exercise. O Lord, forgive me my sins, mistakes and ignorance that has brought me to this situation. My Father Lord, cleanse me from all unrighteousness and my faulty foundation. I make a covenant of truthfulness with you O Lord. I promise to serve you fearfully and faithfully in Jesus name.”
SELF-EXAMINATION: Are you worthy of these prayers? Don’t you think it’s better to confess your sins and repent from them totally? If God truly rebuke the idolatry sin in your life after these prayers, be sincere, would you still continue in that particular sin or you would continue to live your old life? The Bible says should we continue in secret sin that grace may abound? God forbid.
INSTRUCTION: Carefully list out those sins in a paper that have become an IDOL in your life (It could be stealing, disobedient, unforgiveness, strife, hatred, lying etc). Deal with them prayerfully and let the rain of God’s mercy and forgiveness fall upon them! After you have done that, congratulations. Believe that the LORD has answered your prayers tonight.
