DAY 20: A CRY FOR MERCY TO COMPLETE MY ASSIGNMENT

Psalm 51:1-2

Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.  Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

Zechariah 4:9

The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and thou shalt know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto you.

Philippians 1:6

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

INTRODUCTION

Do you carry God’s call upon your life? Have you been entrusted with a divine purpose but find yourself struggling to bring it to completion? Do you sense an invisible resistance hindering your destiny from manifesting?

The truth is this: having an assignment gets you started, but it takes God’s grace to fulfill that purpose to the very end. It is God who grants humanity the grace necessary to actualize their assignments.

Without this divine enablement, even the most determined individual will eventually struggle and falter. However, we must understand that the grace God distributes varies from person to person and from assignment to assignment.

Consider this: some people have been given grace to accumulate wealth but lack the wisdom to steward it properly. Others have grace to start multiple projects but struggle to see any of them through to completion.

The key is not merely to possess grace or having many responsibilities, but to possess the specific grace required for your unique assignment. Fulfilling our God-given assignment is the primary reason for our existence on earth.

Even Jesus Christ operated under a clear assignment during His earthly ministry. Conversely, the devil also has an assignment to steal, kill, and destroy, as declared in John 10:10.

This reveals a fundamental truth: nobody came to this world as a spectator. Every person born into this realm arrives with divine gifts, talents, and abilities waiting to be discovered, developed, and deployed for Kingdom impact.

An assignment is not merely something you enthusiastically begin; it is what God expects you to faithfully finish. History is filled with those who started well but ended tragically.

Many people have received clear mandates from Heaven, yet not everyone successfully completed what they were given. This is a sobering reality we must confront: Heaven does not celebrate those who simply begin their race with excitement;

Heaven celebrates those who endure hardship, overcome opposition, and cross the finish line with their assignment completed. Without God’s mercy, even the most anointed and gifted person can abandon what God originally commissioned them to do.

Life’s pressures, satanic opposition, discouragement, and unforeseen obstacles can wear down even the strongest believer. This is why the cry for mercy is not optional, it is essential for destiny fulfillment.

Completing your assignment is not a competition about speed; it is a testimony of your faithfulness. God is not asking you to finish quickly; He is asking you to finish strong.

For example, if the Almighty has entrusted a specific assignment to you, He expects faithful stewardship from you until the very end not halfway, not when it becomes convenient, but until completion.

The mature cry of a believer is not for new assignments, fresh anointings, or to have different opportunities. The cry that moves Heaven is this: “Lord, grant me grace to finish what You have already started in me.”

Too many believers are perpetually chasing the next big thing while abandoning what God placed in their hands years ago. This restlessness is often a strategy of the enemy to keep you from completing anything of lasting Kingdom value.

As you cry out for mercy today, may the Lord release upon you the supernatural grace to finish well. May every obstacle positioned to abort your assignment be removed by divine fire.

May the same Spirit that enabled Jesus to declare, “It is finished,” empower you to complete your course with joy. May you not be numbered among those who started but never finished.

Instead, may you hear the words every faithful servant longs to hear: “Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things; I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord.”

Your assignment matters. Your completion matters. Heaven is watching, and the grace to finish is available. Cry out for mercy, stay faithful to your assignment, and by God’s power, you shall complete what He has begun in you!

CONFESSION

Father, I acknowledge that without Your mercy I cannot finish what You have started in my life. I humble myself before You and depend entirely on Your grace. I receive strength and faithfulness to remain committed to the assignment You have entrusted to me. I refuse to abandon my calling or walk away from my responsibility. My hands shall complete what You placed in them. I will not quit, I will not be distracted, and I will not be replaced. By the mercy of God, I will finish well and finish strong, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

PRAISE AND WORSHIP

Spend 10–15 minutes in worship before the Lord. Thank Him for counting you worthy and entrusting you with an assignment. Praise Him in faith, knowing that His grace is present to empower you to fulfill your purpose.

HYMN  – Standing On The Promises Of Christ My King

1 Standing on the promises of Christ my King,
Through eternal ages let His praises ring;
Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,
Standing on the promises of God.

Refrain:
Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises of God my Savior
Standing, standing,
I’m standing on the promises of God.

2 Standing on the promises that cannot fail,
When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
By the living word of God I shall prevail,
Standing on the promises of God.

3 Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord,
Bound to Him eternally by love’s strong cord,
Overcoming daily with the Spirit’s sword,
Standing on the promises of God.

4 Standing on the promises I cannot fall,
List’ning ev’ry moment to the Spirit’s call,
Resting in my Savior as my all in all,
Standing on the promises of God.
