EJOM DAILY DEVOTIONAL: July 14, 2026 – Secret Ways To Overcome Spirit Spouse Permanently

One of the spiritual battles many people complain about is the battle of a spirit spouse. Some people have prayed repeatedly, fasted several times and attended different deliverance programmes, yet they still feel troubled by recurring dreams or constant disappointment in their relationship and marriage.

The spirit spouse is real, and it has destroyed so many potential relationships and scattered many marriages. The spirit spouse is not a physical person, but a spirit that is maritally connected to a person for the purpose of hindering their marriage and killing their marital covenant.

The spirit spouse does the work of disappointment, frustration, and stagnation. They ensure a person never enjoys their marriage or relationship peacefully. They ensure that partners hate or reject each other without any reason. The spirit spouse has hindered so many prayers especially prayers focused on marital destiny.

They don’t want their victim to have any interest in marriage. Some people may be married and still regret ever getting married, and this is the work of the spirit spouse. Oftentimes, they use the faces of loved ones to have sexual intimacy with their victims in the dream.

These demons are marine-related. If you have a dream and see yourself being wedded to a man or woman whose face you cannot see, rest assured that there is a spirit spouse operating in your life. If you notice that you always experience disappointment in your relationships, the spirit spouse is operating there.

When a person sent by God comes to ask for your hand in marriage, a sudden negative attitude will just take hold of you to scare the person away. When a man is thinking of entering into a relationship with you, he will begin to receive spiritual attacks. The spirit spouse is already manipulating him.

When that happens, the covenant with the spirit spouse has already been established. This soul-tie covenant will stop you from getting married to the right person. Even if you manage to marry, it is either they frustrate you by cheating, or most times, the enemy uses you against your partner.

However, if you escape and have a successful marriage, they will wait and attack you with the challenge of childbearing. A woman came to my office to narrate what she was going through in her marriage. The Holy Spirit showed that the woman had twelve spirit husbands who had already married her in the spirit realm, which made her chances of getting married physically very slim.

But the greatest mistake you can make is to magnify the battle above the power of God. Some people talk so much about spirit spouses that they almost make the power of darkness look greater than the power of Jesus. That is wrong! Jesus Christ is Lord. His name is above every name, and His victory on the cross is complete.

Beloved, have you been delayed, stagnant, or heavily yoked by a spirit spouse? Don’t worry, there’s a way out. I will be sharing with you the secret ways to overcome the spirit spouse permanently.

1. Know Your Position in Christ

One major step is to know your position in Christ. Many believers pray from a position of fear instead of faith. They believe the enemy is stronger than them. They magnify every dream and minimize the power of Jesus. The Bible says in Luke 10:19 that Christ has given His people authority over all the power of the enemy. When you understand your identity in Christ, your prayer life begins to change.

2. Total Surrender to Jesus Christ

The first secret is total surrender to Jesus Christ. To overcome the spirit spouse, you must surrender everything to Him. By surrendering all, you are making God your number-one priority. You need to humble yourself so that the Holy Spirit can deliver you. Deliverance without genuine salvation only leads to a temporary solution. You cannot overcome marine spirits when you have not worked on your salvation. Your relationship with Jesus must become stronger than your fear of darkness.

3. Genuine Repentance

Another secret is genuine repentance. There are people who want deliverance but do not want to change their lifestyle. They want freedom but do not want to forsake their sin. You cannot continue in sexual immorality, pornography, adultery, bitterness, or other known sins and expect deliverance to happen. Where there is sin, there will always be obstacles and difficulties. To break loose from the grip of a spirit spouse, you need to confess your sins before God and turn away from them.

4. Break Unhealthy Emotional Attachments

Beloved, you must also learn to break unhealthy emotional attachments. A lot of people have been tied together with a spirit spouse because of ungodly physical relationships. This attachment yokes you to someone who is not ready or serious with you. You may have moved on with your life, but your mind is still connected to past sexual relationships. You need to surrender your past sins to God and allow your heart to heal.

5. Close Every Known Door of Sin

Another secret is to close every known door of sin. There are doors in your life where the devil penetrates to renew these evil covenants against you. These doors must be closed if you want total victory over your marital destiny. Sins like sexual immorality, pornography, ungodly relationships, and other sinful habits will mess up a person’s life. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you the grace to overcome these weaknesses.

6. Stop Feeding Fear

Marine spirits from the water will introduce fear, telling you that you can never get married or have a good home. Please stop entertaining those fearful voices, bind them immediately! The spirit spouse is a jealous spirit. They will do everything to discourage you. Break their backbone through faith and be set free!

7. Consistent Prayer

Another secret is consistent prayer. You cannot pray too much. Prayer is still one of the best weapons to defeat a spirit husband or wife. Prayer disconnects you from spiritual marriages. It creates an atmosphere that causes these spirits to hate you and flee. Your consistency in prayer will bring your total deliverance.

8. Study the Word of God Seriously

You must also study the Word of God seriously. The Word of God renews our minds and strengthens our faith. When your heart is filled with Scripture, strange dreams will not easily throw you into a panic. When you are filled with God’s Word, you will know how to pray, seek wisdom, and live your daily life with confidence.

9. Forgive Freely

Another secret is forgiveness. Bitterness can imprison the heart. When you are bitter, you cannot win the battle against the spirit spouse. While God says “love,” the devil whispers “hate them.” The devil is only trying to put you in trouble. When a person is operating under the yoke of a marine spirit, it becomes very hard to forgive. But when you obey the Holy Spirit and forgive, you overcome the demon of anger and bitterness.

10. Stop Confessing Defeat

You must stop confessing defeat over your marriage. Negative declarations kill hope. The enemy knows that your deliverance is tied to your confession, so he will try to stop you from making positive declarations. Speak up and declare: “You spirit spouse, I divorce you by fire! You have no authority over me anymore!”

11. Guard Your Mind Before Sleeping

Another secret is to guard what enters your mind before you go to sleep. Our mind is the powerhouse of our lives. Whatever enters it can easily influence us. If you are constantly picturing someone who is not the will of God for you, it can open the door for the spirit spouse to manipulate you. Guard your mind diligently.

12. Deal with Patterns of Disappointment

You must also deal with patterns of disappointment. If every relationship ends in the exact same way, do not only ask, “Which power is attacking me?” Also ask, “Where is this pattern coming from?” Are you ignoring warning signs? Are you choosing unavailable or unserious people? Are you too controlling? Are you rushing into relationships? Examine these things and ask the Lord for wisdom.

13. Seek Wise Counsel

Proverbs 11:14 says, “Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.” When you are confused, you need godly counsel. When you do not know how to come out of a problem, you need an experienced person to advise you. If you have been single for years and keep experiencing setbacks, seek out a genuine man of God to pray with you and guide you. Wise counsel gives you strategies to defeat the enemy.

14. Reject Marital Desperation

You must reject desperation. Desperation pushes people into the wrong relationships. Some are so tired of being delayed that they accept anyone who shows interest. The spirit spouse loves desperation because he knows it will make you choose the wrong partner and ruin your life. Be on guard and stay prayerful!

The Hour of Deliverance

Finally, keep your eyes on Jesus. It is only Jesus who can save and deliver you from your enemies. No matter how long the spirit spouse has been tormenting you, today is the hour of your deliverance. The secret to lasting victory is nothing but total obedience, humility, holiness, and persistent prayer.

Prophetic Declaration

I declare over your life today: every power troubling your marital destiny shall lose its hold over you, in the name of Jesus. Every pattern of disappointment, rejection, delay, and frustration shall be broken. The Lord shall heal your heart, restore your peace, and order your steps according to His perfect will.

I decree that you will not miss the right person God has prepared for you. Every confusion surrounding your relationship and marital life shall give way to divine clarity. May the Lord grant you wisdom to recognise healthy relationships and courage to walk away from what is destructive.

I declare that your dream life, mind, and emotions are surrendered to Jesus Christ. You shall not be ruled by fear or disturbing experiences. The peace of God shall guard your heart and mind. Every ungodly attachment and influence contrary to the will of God for your life is renounced and broken, in Jesus’ name.

Ask Yourself:

• Am I allowing fear of troubling dreams or spiritual attacks to become greater than my faith in Jesus Christ?
• Are there secret sins, unhealthy habits or wrong relationships I need to sincerely repent of and forsake?
• Have I been consistent in prayer, Bible study, and my relationship with God, or do I only pray seriously when I am afraid?
• Am I constantly confessing bondage and defeat over my life instead of standing on God’s promises of freedom?
• Is there someone I need to forgive and release from my heart?
• What practical spiritual steps must I take today to guard my heart, renew my mind, and remain strong in Christ?

Personal Challenge

Today, take a sincere look at your spiritual life and identify one door, habit, fear, or unhealthy pattern that must end. You don’t have to deceive yourself. You know the exact area you have been struggling with. You know the habit you keep hiding.

You know the relationship you need to surrender to God. You know the fear that has controlled your mind for too long. Write it down and make a firm decision to deal with it prayerfully and wisely. If you need to repent, repent. If you need to forgive, forgive.

If you need to stop consuming unhealthy content, stop it. If you need mature counsel, seek it. Do not keep praying about what you are unwilling to change. For the next seven days, commit to spending at least thirty (30) minutes daily in prayer and Bible study.

Before going to sleep, read a portion of Scripture, pray, and surrender your mind to God. Refuse to go to bed feeding your mind with fear. Beloved, your challenge today is simple: stop giving fear the attention that belongs to Jesus. Build your spiritual life, guard your heart, and remain consistent with God.

Evangelism Challenge

Today, reach out to someone who is living in fear, especially a person troubled by recurring bad dreams, relationship disappointments or spiritual attacks. When the person living in fear, disppointment or confusion, if you don’t want to say, point the person to Jesus Christ, reminding them of God’s love towards them.

Wisdom for Today

You cannot permanently overcome what you keep secretly entertaining. Prayer is powerful, but you must also close every door you are asking God to deliver you from.

Closing Reflection

Beloved, no spirit spouse has power over you. Through the victory of Jesus Christ, every strange bondage has lost its hold. The battle has been overcome, the chains are broken, and you are no longer called to live under fear.

Your freedom has come. Your victory has come. Therefore, rise and celebrate your deliverance today. Stop looking at yourself as a captive. Stop expecting the same disappointment and delay to continue. Begin to thank God, praise Him, and walk boldly in the freedom Christ has given you.
