21 MAY 2026 MESSAGE
One of the hardest things for a believer is waiting on God’s promise. Many people pray, fast, sow seeds, and believe God for miracles, but when the answer delays, frustration begins to enter their hearts. Sometimes God answers immediately, but there are times when heaven says, “Wait.” Waiting seasons are not punishment seasons. They are preparation seasons. God uses waiting to build character, faith, patience, wisdom, and spiritual maturity in His children.
Many people become discouraged because they compare their lives with others. They ask questions like: “Why is my own blessing delayed?” “Why are others moving ahead of me?” “Why is God silent on my issue?” But you must understand that God’s timing is different from man’s timing. A delayed answer does not mean denial. God may be protecting you from entering into something too early. There are blessings that can destroy a person if they are immature.
Joseph waited before becoming a ruler. David waited before becoming king. Hannah waited before carrying Samuel. Lazarus’ miracle came after a delay. Even Jesus waited until the fourth day before appearing. God specializes in working according to divine timing.
Sometimes God delays answers because He is protecting you from wrong timing. A blessing released too early can become a burden. God sees what you cannot see. He knows the hidden battles, dangers, and traps ahead. What you call delay may actually be divine preservation.
What you call silence may actually be preparation. The enemy uses waiting periods to introduce murmuring, envy, comparison, bitterness, and unbelief into the heart of people. Some begin to question God. Some stop praying. Some even stop going to church because they feel disappointed.
But you must never allow temporary delay to destroy your eternal relationship with God. The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 3:11 that God makes everything beautiful in His time. Notice the scripture did not say “your time” or “man’s time.” It says “His time.”
Abraham waited many years before Isaac arrived. Sarah laughed because the promise looked impossible. But when the appointed time came, the same God who promised them fulfilled His word. David waited while still serving faithfully.
You must continue praying, working, learning, improving yourself, and trusting God even while waiting on God. Do not let social media pressure destroy your peace. Many people are secretly suffering behind the smiles you see online. Stop measuring your progress by another person’s timeline. Some people bloom early while others bloom later.
A mango tree and an orange tree do not produce fruit at the same season, yet both are valuable to God and man. God has a unique journey for every person. The devil especially attacks people during their waiting seasons because he knows delayed expectations can weaken faith.
Sometimes waiting develops your prayer life. Sometimes it exposes the wrong people around you. Sometimes it teaches total dependence on God instead of dependence on men. In the waiting season, the enemy may whisper negative thoughts into your heart. He may tell you that God has forgotten you, but the devil is a liar. God never forgets His children.
Sometimes, the hardest instruction God can give a person is not “Go” or “Stop,” but “Wait.” Waiting tests the heart. It reveals whether your faith is truly in God or only in quick results. Many people love God when prayers are answered immediately, but when answers delay, their attitude toward God begins to change. Some stop praying. Some stop attending church
Proverbs 13:12 says, “Hope deferred maketh the heart sick.” The enemy wants your heart to become sick with discouragement. He wants you to lose confidence in God. But you must resist him with faith. Keep declaring God’s promises. Keep speaking positively. Keep worshipping even when you do not understand what God is doing.
Sometimes God delays an answer because He wants the miracle to bring Him greater glory. Lazarus was sick, yet Jesus delayed His coming. People thought all hope was gone. But the delay produced a greater testimony. When Jesus finally arrived, the miracle became undeniable.
Do not allow comparison to poison your spirit. Everyone has different divine timing. Someone else’s testimony is not proof that God has forgotten you. A fruit does not become useless because another fruit ripened earlier. God knows your appointed time.
There are people He is removing from your path because they cannot follow you into your next level. There are lessons He wants you to learn before the blessing arrives. If God gives certain blessings too early, some people may misuse them, abuse them, or even lose their souls because of them.
Do not measure God’s love by how fast things happen. Some of God’s greatest blessings take time. There are people who got married quickly and regretted it. There are people who became rich quickly and lost peace. There are people who rose suddenly and fell suddenly. But when God builds something step by step, it often lasts longer and brings peace.
There are also dangers in refusing to wait for God. Saul lost his throne because he could not wait for Samuel. He became impatient and acted outside divine instruction. Impatience can lead people into counterfeit blessings.
Do not allow temporary delay to destroy your faith. Do not make dangerous decisions because you are tired of waiting. Some people enter wrong marriages because they refused to wait. Some join wrong friendships, businesses, or embark on a journey because they became impatient. Waiting on God may be painful, but it is safer than moving ahead without divine approval.
God may allow situations to reach impossible levels in your life so that when the testimony comes, nobody will share His glory. As you continue waiting on God, avoid negative confessions. Stop saying things like, “God has forgotten me,” “Nothing good can happen to me,” or “My life is finished.” Your words carry power. Speak life over your destiny. Declare that your season of visitation is coming.
Continue serving God faithfully. Continue sowing seeds of righteousness. Continue helping others. Continue worshipping sincerely. Continue studying the Word of God. Do not allow delay to turn your heart away from God.
The God who remembered Hannah will remember you. The God who lifted Joseph from prison will lift you. The God who answered blind Bartimaeus will answer you. The God who raised Lazarus will revive every dead area of your life.
The same God who told Noah to wait for the rain, the same God who told Abraham to wait for Isaac, and the same God who told the disciples to wait for the Holy Ghost is still the same today. He never fails.
If God says wait, then wait with faith, prayer, worship, and expectation. Your testimony will come at the appointed time. Your testimony has a set time. Your breakthrough has a prophetic season attached to it. Receive it now.
