RECEIVING DIVINE MERCY AND FORGIVENESS THROUGH PRAYERS OF CONFESSION

In our world today, sin is highly a common practice among Christians. We commit sin deliberately hoping  that the God’s mercy and forgiveness will speak or save us from eternal destruction. However, the Bible says, Lamentations 3:22, It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. But the Bible also said something very striking here: What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace of God may abound, God forbid (Romans 6:1).  To obtain the mercy of God is not by right but its by grace.

The mercy of God is given to man by love. God’s mercy is so great that He will forgive us, provided that we forsake both our way (our wrong behavior) and our thoughts: “Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon” (Isaiah 55:7). Jesus confirmed the importance of God’s mercies in our daily life. He said, Matthew 5:7  Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy (Matthew 5:7).

Mercy of God and forgiveness

The mercy of God comes when God didn’t punish us for our sin. The mercy of God comes when we fully realize that we have offended the Almighty God and repent from it (Matthew 4:17). A sinful man cannot inherit the kingdom of God. Just like man hate to marry bad woman. So, Jesus hates sin in man.

For example, a man who has been condemned or neglected by men, but the Lord is likely to remember such a fellow through his prayer of mercy.  God doesn’t punish us for every sin that we committed, but there is a severe warning in Romans 6:23, the wages of sin is death. Judgment and punishment comes when we refuse to hearken to His words (Jeremiah 26:5).

It is also true that God might forgive you of your sin, but that doesn’t mean that He has showered you His mercies. Many Christians don’t understand this. Forgiveness is to pardon, vindicate a person, or to dismiss all offences. To forgive a person comes with love, emulation, to look beyond the offences and stick together like brothers.

Many people sees forgiving others as a form of weakness or being guilty.  Inability to render mercy and forgiveness to your fellow person, it could be one of the reasons why you are passing through some attacks. But when someone you care about hurts you,  holding on to anger, resentment and thoughts of revenge would not help. The Bible says forgive. In this 100 days prayers of mercy and forgiveness, you must take it upon yourself to forgive.

Divine forgiveness is a step towards receiving the mercy of God. In a clear term, God’s mercy and love comes with ful grace. In Psalm 51:1-2, David cried out to God for mercy. He knows that he didn’t deserve forgiveness, he plead first for divine mercy and made his confession accordingly. In I Kings 11:13, God was merciful to the wayward Solomon God was merciful to Israel in captivity (Psalm 106:45; Nehemiah 9:31).  The evident of God’s mercy was shown in John 3:16 when He sent Jesus Christ into the world to die for  man.

To some people, forgiveness is a difficult task to do. And yet they want the Lord to forgive them of their sin. It doesn’t work that way! No matter their offences, as a child of God, it is very important for you to forget and forgive him or her. Some problems will go away when you forgive such person. Some challenges will disappear when we practice the habit of forgiving and forgetting people’s offences. Please also note that, without the mercy of God, there will be no solution to your problems. God will not have mercy upon you and the next time you are seen backslide. I pray for you today, the mercy of God will come upon like rain to wash away your predicaments, in Jesus name.

Unfortunately, some people will go as far to swear or vow ever to forgive such a fellow for the damage, worst thing he or she has done to them. This is not what Jesus told us to do. Look out what the Holy Spirit said here: In Matthew 6:14-15 says, For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. You must learn to forgive others. Do you want the Lord to show you mercy today? If your answer is yes, then you must remove yourself from all manners of sin.

Benefits of forgiveness and mercy.

This is what forgiveness does in your life

• It brings healing and joy in your spirit.
• It removes pains and grudges from your mind.
• It gives access for the heavenly Father to forgive you.
• It reactive the spirit of love and unity (1 Cor 13:4-8).

What happens if you can’t forgive and have mercy on someone?

To forgive a person can be challenging especially when the person refuses to admit his or her mistakes/faults. I understand how painful it is beloveth, but you must let go of the pains, bitterness, anger etc attached to it. You must not allow that to rob you of your blessings. Look at what the Bible says here: Colossians 3:13, Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. So what happens when you determine not to forgive him or her.

1. There will be scarcity of miracle.
2. There will be difficulties in experiencing breakthrough.
3. There will be pains, sorrow and stagnation.
4. There will be lack of protection and financial blessings.
5. There will be a continued series of setbacks and rejection.

What if the person I’m forgiving doesn’t change?

• Romans 12:18-21 
  If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
•   Luke 6:35-36, But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
• Proverbs 3:5-6 
  Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
• 1 Timothy 1:15-16 
  This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

Should I call or meet the person one on one?

Do not feel shy about it., its advisable you meet the person facially and release your mercy or forgiveness upon him. But if the person is faraway from you, you can otherwise place a call on him or her. Maybe someone hurt you so badly to the point of regretting ever connecting with the person. You can pray for such a fellow so that the mercy of God can locate him too. Jesus experienced pains, punishment, rejection as a result of our salvation. He or she may needs the hands of God to change his attitude. The Bible says, let brotherly love continue (Hebrews 13:1).

It can be frustrating to discover that the person is unwilling to change, or accept forgiveness at this point. But don’t let that border you so much. The God that you serve has seen your heart of forgiveness and mercy towards the person. Whoever that needs your forgiveness, kindly do that with an open mind. Forgive them, but don’t ever trust them again. Forgiveness doesn’t mean reestablishment of trust, but you can love them according to 1 Peter 4:8.

Oh Lord my father, I come to you this day as a sinner. O Lord, have mercy on me, forgive me of all my sins and make me your child as from today. Wash me clean thoroughly with the blood of Jesus and write my name in the Book of life. Thank you my Father for saving my soul. I declare that I am born again through the glory of God, in Jesus name.  (John 3:16).

4. Take any prayer as being led by the Holy Spirit.

Galatians 5:19-21 ,
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Before you embark on this programme, you must make sure you stay away completely from sin. Sin is a serious offence before God. It will make no sense when you are taking prayers of mercy and forgiveness and you are indulging in sin. Wait a minute! What are your most common sins? Meaning, what are your weaknesses? Galatians 5:19-21 explain deeply about the type of sin that may jeopardize all your efforts in this program.  I pray for you, may you not pray in vain, in Jesus name.

IMPORTANT CONFESSIONS TO MAKE:

In the name of Jesus, as I make this confession of the word of God into my life, I believe and I receive the power that is in the word of God into my spirit, into my soul and into my body. I command that at the name of Jesus Christ, every knee should bow, of things in heavens, of things on earth and things under the earth. I am a child of God, a child of light, a child of glory.

I believe that Jesus Christ will show me mercy  and forgiveness after this programme. I believe that Jesus will hear my cry of mercy. O Lord, I accept You as my personal Lord and Saviour. Father, I am sorry for the sin which I have committed knowingly or unknowingly. I know that the sin of my past is hurting my destiny, O son of David, I plead for Your mercy and forgiveness this day. I belong to You, O Lord. I surrender everything to You and deposes every worldly materials currently in my possession. I promise not to indulge in sin again.

I am determine to stay away from sin and other unholy attitudes. I am now a new creature, old things are passed away; my old life is done away with, I am now living a new life, the life I now live is in Christ Jesus. JESUS CHRIST has paid the price for me with His blood and set me free; Satan and his demons have no more power or dominion over my life. For whomsoever Jesus has set free is free indeed and I am free indeed.

Jesus has delivered me from all the power of darkness, including my present sin and the sin of my past. I am delivered from principalities, powers, dominions, and all the forces of darkness. I say bye-bye to my sin (mention them) today and forever more. So therefore, I receive divine mercy in my marriage, divine mercy in my career, divine mercy on my womb, divine mercy in my business, divine mercy and forgiveness on the destiny of my children and my foundation (family). I declare that all the devilish acts of the enemy in my life are erased and finished, in Jesus name. Right now, I cut myself loose from all the links with the kingdom of darkness (flesh). Thank you Jesus for saving me!

1. Thank you Jesus for the miracle of sleeping and waking up, in the name of Jesus.

3. Thank you Jesus for the miracle of eating and drinking, in the name of Jesus.
4. Thank you Jesus for keeping me and my dreams alive, in the name of Jesus.
5. I Thank you for Your mercies have made me stable physically, spiritually and financially, in the name of Jesus.
6. God of great mercy, whatever is meant for evil for me and my family by anyone or by any power, turn it around for my good, in Jesus name.
7. Heavenly Father in any way that I may have missed it in life and destiny, let Your mercy give me a comeback miracle, in Jesus name (cry out to God of Mercy).

Confession: Proverbs 28:13

1. O Lord my Father, remember me by Your great love and mercy, in the name of Jesus (Psalm 25:6-7).
2. By the great mercy of God, arise and put away to every repeated sin in my life, in the name of Jesus (Romans 6:15).
3. O heaven, do not withhold your mercy from me, Lord; may your love and faithfulness always protect me, in the name of Jesus (Psalm 40:11).
4. Father, with my sinful heart, I boldly come to You for the confession of my sin so that I can obtain grace and forgiveness, in the name of Jesus (Proverbs 28:13).
5. Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord; Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy (Psalm 130:1-2) (declare this now).
6. O Lord, the journey of life is draining my strength, arise and supply me with the strength of Your grace, in the name of Jesus (2 Corinthians 12:9) .
7. By Your great mercy O Lord, do not ignore my cry of forgiveness or abandon me, for you are my gracious and merciful God (Nehemiah 9:31).
8. Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin (Psalm 51:1-2).

9. No matter what others have done to me, O Lord, grant me the spirit of love and forgiveness so that You can forgive me of my sins, in Jesus name (Mat 6:14).
10. Let Your mercy save me from the curse of sin, tribulation, and troubles, in the name of Jesus (Ephesians 2:4-5).

DAY 7 (TUESDAY, 7^th MAY 2019)

Confession: Daniel 9: 5

1. By Your great mercy O Lord, cleanse me from all unrighteousness and make me whole again, in the name of Jesus (1 John 1:9).
2. Lord give me another chance of repentance and confession so that my sin can be wiped out from my life, in the name of Jesus (Acts 3:19).
3. My life, be ready to produce good fruit in keeping with my repentance, in the name of Jesus (Mathew 3:8) (plead the blood of Jesus upon your life).
4. Search me O Lord, and show me every iniquity in my life, in the name of Jesus (Psalm 139:23-24).
5. Lord, if I am living in self-destruction as a result of my sin, let your mercy correct me, in the name of Jesus (2 Chronicles 7:14).
6. O Lord, I rededicate my life, I rededicate my belongings to you, I rededicate my marriage to You, in the name of Jesus.
7. I remove myself from any sin or negative attitude that will separate me from my heavenly Father (God), in Jesus name.
8. Lord Jesus, forgive me for having ever disobeyed you, in the name of Jesus (Psalm 81:11).
9. Oh mercy of God, cancel the consequences and negative effect of this sin.(mention them) on my life, in the name of Jesus.
10. My Father, I am lost in you, draw me nearer to you, in the name of Jesus.
11. Lord Jesus, help me to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness in everything I do, in Jesus name (Mathew 6:33).

DAY 8 (WEDNESDAY, 8^th MAY 2019)

Confession: Luke 15:18-19

1. Let the blood of Jesus cleanse me from foundational errors and mistakes, in Jesus name (Psalm 11:3).
2. O Lord, lead me to my land of my Shiloh for greater encounter with my destiny helpers, in the name of Jesus.
3. I cast out, every idolatry sin from my heart, in the name of Jesus.
4. I command all my pending divine mercies to locate me now, in the name of Jesus.
5. Father, forgive me of all negative confessions I have made in time past, in Jesus name.
6. All the sins which I have committed out of selfish motives, blood of Jesus arise and redeem from this captivity, in Jesus name.
7. Let the words of my mouth justify me and not condemn me, in Jesus name.
8. Merciful God, I renounce and repent of the following errors that I made in life (list them). Father, in Your mercy, clear them away, in Jesus name.
9. You stubborn sin that has never allow the blessings of God to settle down with me, I reject you out of my life, in Jesus name (pray this seriously).
10. O Lord, pass through me with Your fire and restore unto me the joy of my salvation, in Jesus name.

DAY 9 (THURSDAY, 9^th MAY 2019)

Confession: Acts 3:19

Scripture: Psalm 103:10-14

1. O Lord, revive my spiritual life, in the name of Jesus..
2. O Lord, remove worldly bondage from my spirit, in the name of Jesus.
3. I set myself loose from the love of the things of this world, in Jesus name.
4. O Lord, let not Your death on me be in vain, in the name of Jesus.
5. Father, let Your mercy prevail over my present situations, in Jesus name.
6. I will not perish with this world, in the name of Jesus (pray this aggressively).
7. Despite my strive towards maintaining holiness, I will not spend my eternity in hell, in the name of Jesus.
8. Any sin in my life that has disgraced before God, O mercy of God, pardon my errors, mistakes and my deliberate action, in Jesus name.
9. O Lord, examine my life today and reveal my weakness to me, in Jesus name.
10. Holy Spirit, let not be my heart be a stony ground for the word of God, in Jesus name.

Confession: Proverbs 21:23/ Mathew 12:37

1. The powers that want me to serve God faithfully without enjoying the reward of it, O Lord, let your anger come upon them, in Jesus name.
2. O Lord, increase your mercy and forgiveness upon my life, in the name of Jesus.
3. Lord, I need your strength to defeat this sin. I am thankful that your power is made perfect in my weakness. I don’t boast in my sin, help me Lord.
4. Dear Lord Jesus, give me wisdom and perspective in the moment I am tempted to sin – help me to hate sin, in Jesus name.
5. By the great mercy of God, I redeem my marriage from the dominion of the powers of darkness, in the name of Jesus.

Confession: Exodus 14:13-14

1.  I refuse to become a castaway in the sight of God, in Jesus name.
2. O Lord, remove everything in me that will make me take you for granted, in Jesus name.
3. Whatever my parents and ancestors did that made you angry, have mercy on me Oh Lord and erase them from my destiny, in the name of Jesus.
4. Lord, renew your spirit within me and make all things new in my life, in Jesus name.
5. Father, help me to be kind to other people and easily forgive them, no matter their offence, in Jesus name (Ephesians 4:32).
6. Jesus, help me to truly surrender all to you, in Jesus name.
7. My father, help me to detach myself from worldly practice that will take me to hell fire, in Jesus name.

1. Lord Jesus I thank you for your program for my life, in the name of Jesus.
2. Any sin in my life, blood of Jesus cleanse and forgive me in the name of Jesus.

3. Father, anything that I must lose in order to gain you, take it away from me, in Jesus name.
4. Fire of God, destroy every idol in my heart and life, in Jesus name.
5. Blood of Jesus, deliver me from conscious and unconscious friendship with the world, in Jesus name.
6. I wash the root of ancestral sin in my foundation with the blood of Jesus.
7. Any part of my spirit that has been summoned to the altars I retrieve it by the blood of Jesus.
8. Father Lord, show Yourself mighty in the affairs of my life in Jesus name.
9. Confess all the things that are separating you from God. Pray for forgiveness and the salvation of your soul.
