Acts 2:4, ”And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

Acts 1:8, ” But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

The purpose of these 2 hours strong marathon prayer is for spiritual revival, against prayerlessness and to fight back at the enemy of our souls (Psalm 85:6).

Prayer is a way of expressing ourselves or challenges to God. Spending time with God through prayer is essential for healthy spiritual growth. A prayerful Christian is a powerful person. The importance of daily communication through marathon prayers cannot be overestimated in this generation.

First, marathon prayer gives an opportunity to revive your prayer altar  Second, marathon prayer gives you the chance to activate your spiritual gifts. Third, marathon prayer provides the platform for confessing our sin and asking for help in overcoming that sin. Fourth, marathon prayer is an act of developing a long time relationship with God. And finally, marathon prayer is a way to deal with your enemies in a fierce battle.

Prayer is something we should observe on regular basis, not when we are attacked or in troubled.  Yet for many Christians it can be a challenge to pray for atleast 30 minutes.  For those who have been walking with the Lord for many years or operating in a church denomination, marathon prayer may become stale and unimportant.

James 5:17-18, “Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.”

Whether you are a new believer or an established one, marathon prayer should always be considered as the best way to speak to God and stir up your boldness and faith in your present situations. Praying for hours work wonder. Our salvation is very important and as such, God has commanded us to pray. Jabez prayed so deep and he receives so much answers.

To pray without ceasing  means that prayer should be a regular habit among believers. Prayer also is an act of worship because by praying to God we are showing Him how much we adore Him. Praying for a longer hour (2 hours, 3 hours etc) is an act of a good prayer life.

Our prayers must be made with a clear purpose in mind and that purpose must be within the will of God. You must depend upon the power of God to get your prayers answered. However, it is not enough to say a prayer, but you must be specific when you pray. The advantage of marathon prayer is to bring great results to our prayers.

If you want to receive an unusual power, strength, and revival in your spiritman, then you must spend quality time praying in hours. Marathon prayer is one of the most important spiritual exercise a Christian can do.

Though, it may be so painful to start, but their benefits are much.  To really get God to move mightily, you must be a Christian that prays for long hours especially praying in the spirit. Sometimes, we felt that marathon prayers doesn’t work perfectly in this century, nursing a believe that God only sees the heart.

The word of God should be the foundation of your prayers and when you read or quote it while praying , you are soaking yourself with power of the Spirit. Prayer is being governed by the spirit of God.  The more we pray for long, the more the refreshing power of the Holy Ghost (Acts 1:13).

I was in a prayer meeting one day and they asked us if we can speak in tongues for 2 hours. However, we told them that by the grace of God and by His leading. And by the time we start, the atmosphere is already soaked with the power of God. We spent not less than 3 good hours only tongues speaking. It was a testimony.

“It is impossible to please God without faith.” (Hebrews 11:6). You cannot be a prayer Christian and you don’t have strong faith. You need to develop an unusual spirit to pray in the faith of the word of God.

As a strong believer, you have the power of the Holy Spirit inside you. However, that power will not work until you put it to work through prayers and activating the fire of the Holy Ghost.

INSTRUCTION: Please note that this exercise can only be taking at midnight prayers from 12am to 2am. It is not a fasting programme.  If you think you won’t be available to take this prayer exercise as of the time of reading this post now, you can re-schedule it to the best of your convenient day. However, it is very important to follow the timing behind each prayer point. Eccl 8:6 says, for every purpose, there is a time…Be aware that this marathon prayers does not have a specific date. That is, you can start it at your convenient time.

Isaiah 57:15 , ”For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.”

STEP TO TAKE 

• Start with praise and worship
• Begin to make confession of your sin.
• Ask God to revive your spiritual gifts or transform them.
• Look for a isolated areas to take these prayers.
• Practice by praying for good 2 hours with power.

MARATHON PRAYERS…..

Section A  (1 hour) ends at 1am

1. Anointing that breaks the yoke, let it fall upon me, in the name of Jesus. (Pray for 5 minutes).
2. Holy Ghost fire, circulate all over my soul, body and spirit, in the name of Jesus (Pray for 5 minutes).
3. Holy Ghost fire, revive my spiritual life and prayer altar, in the name of Jesus. (Pray for 5 minutes).
4. Evil garment of praying out of points, I tear you to pieces, in the name of Jesus (Pray for 5 minutes).
5. Blood of Jesus wash me, saturate me and cleanse me now, in the name of Jesus (Pray for 5 minutes).
6. Pentecostal fire of the Most High, fall upon me afresh, in the name of Jesus (Pray for 5 minutes).
7. Power of God arise in my life and activate my spiritual gifts, in the name of Jesus (Pray for 5 minutes)
8. Father, let my spiritual life be ignited by the fire of the Holy Ghost, in the name of Jesus (Pray for 5 minutes).
9. Every agent of prayerlessness in my life, I shake you off completely, in the name of Jesus (Pray for 5 minutes).
10. Father, let your fire possess me inside, outside me, and beside me, in the name of Jesus. (Pray for 5 minutes).
11. Father, give me the grace to pray without ceasing now and until my joy is full, in the name of Jesus (Pray 5 minutes).
12. Father, let the yoke of hypocrisy affecting my spiritual life and my Fatheropen heavens, be broken and die forever, in Jesus name (Pray 5 minutes).

Section B (1 hour) Ends at 2am

1. Father, let the spirit of salvation arrest my family now and forever more, in Jesus name (Pray for 3 minutes).
2. Annoying sin taking full control of my life, be washed away by the blood of Jesus (Pray for 3 minutes).
3. Holy Ghost fire, burn down all witchcraft covens manipulating my destiny, in Jesus name. (Pray for 3 minutes).
4. Arrow of prayer lukewarmness fired at my prayer altar occasionally, go back to your sender, in Jesus name. (Pray for 3 minutes).
5. Every open curse and threat aimed at pulling me down, be destroyed, in Jesus name. (Pray for 5 minutes).
6. Father, let the evil vision, prophecy and dream on my life, evaporate and die, in Jesus name. (Pray for 3 minutes).
7. Anything witchcraft planted in my life to quench my spiritual power, come out now, in the name of Jesus (Pray for 5 minutes).
8. By the power of the Holy Ghost, O God, draw my Pharaoh into the Red Sea, in the name of Jesus. (Pray for 3 minutes).
9. Any power that says this year will not favour me no matter my prayers, receive fire and die, in Jesus name (Pray for 3 minutes).
10. Any dry bone in my life, marriage, finances, hear the word of the Lord, come alive, in the name of Jesus. (Pray for 5 minutes).
11. Forces of darkness, hear me well. As from today, any of you troubling my destiny shall be disgraced, in Jesus name. (Pray for 3 minutes).
12. Every foundational curse, struggle, delay, poverty in my family line and it’s now affecting me, cease by fire, in Jesus name. (Pray for 5 minutes).
13. Strange money among my money, hear the word of the Lord, disappear by fire, in Jesus name. (Pray for 3 minutes).
14. Holy Ghost fire, renew my strength and give me the spirit of patience, in Jesus name (Pray for 3 minutes). 
15. Through the Blood of Jesus, I am redeemed out of every sickness and trouble of life, in Jesus name. (Pray for 3 minutes).
16. Revival power of the Holy Ghost, cooperate with my prayer life, in the name of Jesus (Pray for 5 minutes).
