Please below prayers comes with burning of clothes (Prov 6:27). If you know you can’t burn off your indecent clothes, there is no point taking the prayers. That’s a divine instruction. What makes prayers answered quickly is the ability to obey divine instruction.
Zechariah 3:1-5, ”And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him. And the LORD said unto Satan, The LORD rebuke thee, O Satan; even the LORD that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire? Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel. And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment. And I said, Let them set a fair mitre upon his head. So they set a fair mitre upon his head, and clothed him with garments. And the angel of the LORD stood by.”

After Elisha saw Elijah being taken away, he cried out. The next thing he did was to tear his clothes (2 Kings 2:12-14). Why did he do that? According to Colossians 3:8-10, you have to put off the old man before you can put on the new man. What constitutes the old man?
But now ye also put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Colossians 3:8
What is indecent dressing?
indecent dressing is wearing of clothes that are not appropriate in the eyes of the public. but it can also be described as a way that is likely to shock or offend people. However, other people put it this way: Indecent dressing are wears that exposes one’s body. Therefore, indecent dressing are scripturally bad
Garment is an identity that covers our body. Decent Garment (dressing) shows a person is responsible and fear what the Bible says (Phil 4:5), (Rom 12:1-2). While indecent dressing are wears that God prohibits. These are wears that are not morally pleasant in the society. Good dressing can be fun and a reputation builder, but if it’s showing your naked parts then it is becoming an indecent dressing.
The Bible calls it filthy garments and these garments are evil. Garment has played a major role in the history of God’s interactions with man and is featured prominently from Genesis (3:7) to Revelation (22:14). the beginning, clothing (garment) has symbolized the need to cover our sin and shame. God, in His mercy, killed an animal and made garments for Adam and Eve from the skin of the animal (Genesis 3:21).
Sin is a type of filthy garment that is robbing so many people of their salvation and their place in heaven. With bad garment, known as indecent wears, there is no way God can answer such prayers. The Bible says, without holiness no man shall see the Lord.
How can you choose that polluted garments as your armour of prayers? Anyone who wears the garment of sin will be clothed in shame but the one who wears garment of righteousness (decent garments) will be clothed in God’s glory. We read the story of Adam who fell short of the glory of God due to sin of disobedient and God’s glory was lifted from him.
The truth is, as long as you are wearing this bad garment, no matter your prayers, you ‘ll not be attractive for God’s use. There are many Christian of this present generation who usually says your dressing doesn’t matter, but your spirit is what the Lord will see. A big lie from the pit of hell.
Spiritual garment has been a critical aspect of man and began as a response to mankind’s sin. Moreover, clothing is good because of our need to keep our bodies covered, both for protection and for modesty. God pronounced judgments upon those who “uncovered the nakedness” of others improperly (Exodus 20:26; Leviticus 18:6; Isaiah 47:3).
Characteristics of Good Garment
- Open heavens
- Fast recognition
- Divine connection.
- Favour and promotion.
- Marital possibilities.
- Unusual grace to stay stronger in battle.
- Divine protection from your enemies.
In Scripture, nakedness is almost always associated with sexual sin and/or shame. In our society, typically you can identify someone by the type of clothes they wear. You can also identify a person’s background by what he or she wears. Unfortunately, the same applies to spiritual aspects. The devil has pulled out the destiny-garment of many people with rags. That’s why we see high level of people still struggling to prosper, to fulfill destiny.
The biblical standard for women’s type of clothing is modesty and decent: “I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with . . . expensive clothes, but with good deeds” (1 Timothy 2:9–10). On the other hand, good garments symbolizes purity (Matt 17:2). Other evil garments include garments of rejection, ugliness, condemnation, widowhood, sorrow, stagnancy, and bad luck.
Have you been told that you may never make it until you dress to kill? Have you been told as a woman that you may never get a man to marry you unless you wear skimpy dresses and make up excessively? Are you under any pressure to wear indecent dressing? Are you under any attack to change your wardrobe to good clothes? Do you have clothes that you wear to strange locations?
Good garment bring big connection and divine favour. If you are wearing a good garment, congratulations, good things will be pursuing you and you will no longer make effortless prayers. However, if you are wearing an evil garment then bad things will be happening in your life. For example, Joshua the High Priest in our key scripture, faced humiliation because of the filthy garments that he was wearing. Zechariah 3:1-5.
It is possible for a Christian to wear a nice indecent dressing, but such dress will not be acceptable to God and to a decent environment. And meanwhile, dressing decently is not just only for church thing; it is to be a daily practice both outside and inside. For example, if a woman professes to be a Christian yet she dresses in a way that will unduly draw attention to her body, she is a poor witness of the One who bought her soul by dying for her on the cross. She is forgetting that her body has been redeemed by Christ and is now the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19–20).
