Is God Real In Your Life? – EJOM DAILY DEVOTIONAL: October 25, 2026

Beloved, there is a question every Christian must sincerely ask: Is God truly real in my life, or is He only someone I talk about?

Many people attend church faithfully. They sing worship songs with their hands lifted, quote Scriptures by heart and speak the language of Christianity fluently.

They know when to say “Amen,” when to say “Hallelujah” and when to say “God bless you.” Yet when you watch their conduct outside the church, it does not reflect the character of Christ.

Their words are Christian, but their ways are worldly. God is on their lips, but He is not on the throne of their hearts. God must be more than a name you mention when you need help.

Some people only remember God when the doctor gives a bad report, when the business is collapsing or when the marriage is in trouble. Once the problem is solved, God is pushed back to the corner until the next emergency.

But God is not a spare tyre you bring out only when there is a puncture. He must become the centre of your life, the Lord of your decisions and the foundation of your hope.

If God is truly real in your life, His presence will influence everything about you. It will affect how you speak, how you work, how you spend money, how you handle relationships, how you respond to temptation and how you treat other people.

The Bible makes a very serious statement about some people: “They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate” (Titus 1:16).

It is possible to confess God with your mouth while denying Him with your actions. Your lips may say, “I belong to Jesus,” while your lifestyle is saying something completely different.

You may say “Jesus is Lord” on Sunday, and by Monday, money is lord, lust is lord, anger is lord and pride is lord. Jesus said, “Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them” (Matthew 7:20).

He did not say we would know them by their titles, their dressing, their church activities or their spiritual vocabulary. But it says, you will know them by their fruits. An orange tree does not need to announce that it is an orange tree; the oranges on its branches speak for it.

In the same way, if God is real in your life, it will show in the fruit you bear: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

Beloved, do not let your mouth be more spiritual than your life. Let your conduct preach louder than your confession. Some people allow God into certain areas of their lives but keep Him out of others. God is welcome in their Sunday service, but not in their business decisions.

God is welcome in their prayer life, but not in their spending. God is welcome in their wedding ceremony, but not in their marriage. Let me ask you some questions. Is God real in your marriage?

Do you treat your spouse the way God expects, with love, respect, faithfulness and patience? Or do you behave in your home as if God cannot see what happens behind closed doors?

Is God real in your finances? Do you honour Him with your substance? Do you deal honestly in business, or do you cheat, inflate prices, give false weights and collect bribes, then come to church to give an offering? “A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight” (Proverbs 11:1).

Is God real in your work? Do you work as unto the Lord, or do you only work hard when the boss is watching? “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men” (Colossians 3:23).

Is God real in your words? Do you speak truth, or do you lie easily when it is convenient? Do your words build people up or tear them down?

Is God real in your relationships? Do you treat people with kindness and honesty, or do you use them and discard them?

Is God real in your decisions? Do you consult Him before you make choices, or do you only bring Him the results and ask Him to bless what you already decided?

Jesus said, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33).

Is God your first priority, or is He somewhere at the bottom of your list? When God is real in your life, He is not one item on the list; He is the One who arranges the list.

It is possible to pray and still not believe that God will answer. It is possible to fast and still not believe that God will honour the fast. Many people pray out of habit, not out of faith.

Their mouths are asking, but their hearts have already concluded that nothing will happen. When Peter was in prison, the church gathered in the house of Mary and prayed without ceasing for him.

God answered and sent an angel who brought Peter out. Peter came and knocked at the very door where they were praying. A young girl named Rhoda recognised his voice and ran to tell them.

But they said to her, “Thou art mad” (Acts 12:15). They were praying for Peter’s release, yet when the answer was standing at the door, they did not believe it.

James warned, “But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord” (James 1:6–7).

In the days of Isaiah, the people complained, “Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge?” (Isaiah 58:3).

God answered that they were fasting while still oppressing their workers, fighting and doing their own pleasure. Their fasting was a ritual, not a relationship.

Beloved, when we say God is real in your life, we are not talking about believing that God exists somewhere far away in heaven. Even the devils believe that, and they tremble (James 2:19).

When God is real in your life, it means His presence is so certain to you that it affects everything you think, say and do. He is not an idea in your head; He is the living Person you walk with every day. And when God is real, it will show. Let us look at what it looks like.

The greatest desire of a person who knows God is not to please people, impress the crowd or satisfy the flesh, but to please God. Paul said, “Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him” (2 Corinthians 5:9).

Jesus said of His Father, “I do always those things that please him” (John 8:29). And of Enoch, the Bible records that “before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God” (Hebrews 11:5).

When God is real to you, before you take a decision, you ask, “Will this please God?” Before you speak, you ask, “Will God be glorified by these words?”

Before you enter a relationship, a deal or a place, you ask, “Is God pleased with this?” Your life becomes an offering to Him, and His approval becomes more important to you than any applause from men.

A person who knows God does not argue with His Word or treat it as a suggestion. Samuel told Saul, “Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams” (1 Samuel 15:22). God does not want your sacrifices if your obedience is missing.

When God told Abraham to offer Isaac, the son he waited twenty five years for, the Bible says, “And Abraham rose up early in the morning” (Genesis 22:3). He did not delay. He did not negotiate.

He did not call a meeting. He obeyed promptly, because God was real to him. And because he obeyed, God provided a ram and swore by Himself to bless him.

When God is real, you obey even when you do not understand, even when it is uncomfortable and even when nobody else is obeying. Jesus said, “If ye love me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15). Obedience is the language of love.

Many people are more afraid of what their boss will say, what their family will think or what their friends will do than what God will say. They will compromise their faith to keep their job, hide their faith to keep their friends and bend the truth to avoid trouble.

But the Bible warns, “The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe” (Proverbs 29:25).

When Pharaoh commanded the Hebrew midwives to kill every baby boy, they disobeyed the most powerful king on earth. Why? “But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men children alive” (Exodus 1:17).

And God dealt well with them and made them houses. When the council commanded Peter and the apostles to stop preaching in the name of Jesus, they answered, “We ought to obey God rather than men” (Acts 5:29).

Jesus said, “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell” (Matthew 10:28).

When God is real in your life, His opinion matters more than any human opinion. You will not join evil because everybody is doing it. You will not deny Christ to be accepted. You will stand with God even if you stand alone.

Some people pray as if they are talking to themselves. Their mouths are saying words, but their minds are in the market, the office or on their phone.

In the middle of prayer, the phone rings, and they pick it up immediately to attend to a customer, then return to prayer as if God can wait. They would never do that if they were standing before the president of the nation, but they do it before the King of kings.

Beloved, when God is real to you, prayer is a meeting with the Almighty, and you give Him your full attention. Jesus said, “But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret” (Matthew 6:6).

Shutting the door means shutting out distractions.

Solomon said, “Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools… be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth” (Ecclesiastes 5:1–2).

Daniel knew that a decree had been signed against anyone who prayed to any God except the king. Yet he went into his house, opened his windows toward Jerusalem “and he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime” (Daniel 6:10).

Nothing could interrupt his appointment with God, not even the threat of the lions’ den. Through the prophet Malachi, God rebuked those who brought Him blind, lame and sick animals as offerings.

He said, “Offer it now unto thy governor; will he be pleased with thee, or accept thy person?” (Malachi 1:8). Giving God our leftover attention is like offering Him a blemished sacrifice.

Now, let me be balanced. God is not a hard taskmaster who will be angry with you over a genuine emergency. If there is a real crisis, God understands and He will respond promptly. But there is a difference between an emergency and a distraction.

When God is real in your life, you will switch off the phone while in His presence, you settle your mind and you give Him the honour He deserves. Your customer can wait for a few minutes; the God who gives you customers deserves your full attention.

A person who knows God does not live by lies, tricks and shortcuts. The psalmist asked, “LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart” (Psalm 15:1–2).

When God is real in your life, you will not lie to close a business deal. You will not falsify documents to get a job. You will not take bribes to approve a file. You will not cheat in examinations.

You will not lie to your spouse. You will not exaggerate testimonies to impress people. “Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight” (Proverbs 12:22).

John said, “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth” (3 John 4). Walking in truth is not something you do once; it is a lifestyle. You walk in it every day, in every place and before everybody.

When God is real to you, your money will show it. “Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase” (Proverbs 3:9).

You will not give God the leftovers after you have spent on everything else. You will put Him first in your giving, your tithes and your support for His work, because you know that everything you have came from Him.

When Ziklag was burned and David’s family was taken captive, his men were ready to stone him.

David had every reason to act quickly on his own. But before he pursued the enemy, “David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them?” (1 Samuel 30:8). God answered, “Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.”

When God is real to you, He is not your last resort; He should be your first consultant. You ask Him before you marry, before you relocate, before you invest, before you change jobs and before you make major decisions.

“In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths” (Proverbs 3:6). A person who knows God does not panic like those who do not know Him. When the crisis comes, they run to Him, not away from Him.

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1).

Habakkuk said, “Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation” (Habakkuk 3:17–18).

When God is real, your joy does not depend on your circumstances, because your confidence is in Him. Moses said to God, “If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence” (Exodus 33:15).

Moses would rather stay in the wilderness with God than go to the Promised Land without Him. When God is real in your life, you will not be satisfied with blessings without His presence. You will value His presence in your home, your prayer life and your worship more than anything this world can offer.

You cannot claim that God is real in your life while you hate the people He created. “If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?” (1 John 4:20).

When God is real, His love flows through you to others. You forgive those who hurt you, you help those in need and you treat people with dignity, because they matter to God.

Being real with God does not mean you will never make a mistake. David fell into terrible sin. But when Nathan confronted him, David did not defend himself or blame others.

He said, “I have sinned against the LORD” (2 Samuel 12:13), and he poured out his heart in Psalm 51: “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me” (Psalm 51:10).

When God is real to you, sin will not feel comfortable. The Holy Spirit will convict you, and you will run back to God quickly instead of hiding from Him.

When God is real, you do not steal His glory. King Herod made a speech, and the people shouted, “It is the voice of a god, and not of a man.” And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, “because he gave not God the glory” (Acts 12:22–23).

When God blesses you, promotes you or uses you, you will not take the credit. “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31).

Some people hide their faith at work, among their friends or on social media because they do not want to be seen as too religious. But Paul declared, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth” (Romans 1:16).

When God is real, you are proud to belong to Him, and you are not ashamed to be identified with Him anywhere.

Beloved, when God is real to you, prayer is not a religious exercise. It is a conversation with the living God who hears and answers. When you pray, believe. When you fast, expect something encouraging. And when the answer knocks at your door, do not say, “Thou art mad.”

Until God becomes real in your life, you will take His Word for granted. You will read it like a newspaper, hear it like a story and treat it like a suggestion. You will pick the verses you like and ignore the ones that challenge you.

But when God is real, His Word carries weight in your heart. When He says “Thou shalt not,” you do not argue. When He says “Go,” you do not delay.

When He says “Forgive,” you do not make excuses. Jesus said, “If ye love me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15). Love for God is not measured by how loudly we sing, but by how quickly we obey.

The psalmist said, “I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation” (Psalm 119:99) and “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee” (Psalm 119:11).

When the Word of God is real to you, it becomes a shield against sin and a lamp for your path. Beloved, until God is real in your life, you will fall into sin carelessly, thinking, “After all, if I pray, God will forgive me.”

Some people plan their sin and plan their repentance at the same time. They say, “Let me do this one, and on Sunday I will ask for forgiveness.”

Beloved, this is a dangerous game. Paul asked, “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?” (Romans 6:1–2). Grace is not a licence to sin; it is the power to stop sinning.

The Bible warns, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap” (Galatians 6:7). Some people think that because judgement has not come immediately, God has approved their sin.

But Solomon explained, “Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil” (Ecclesiastes 8:11). God’s patience is not His permission. His silence is not His approval. He is giving you time to repent.

Yes, God forgives. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). Thank God for that.

But true repentance is not just saying sorry; it is turning away from your sinful ways. The person who truly knows God does not use His mercy as a cover for continued rebellion.

Many people believe that God exists, but they have not accepted that truth into their lives. That is why you see some Christians doing evil all week and then walking into God’s presence on Sunday as though nothing happened.

Some even tell you God bless you, but the source of that prayer is dirty.  Some even tell you more grace, but when that grace increases, they begin to have issues with you.  This is a serious matter.

God addressed this through Jeremiah: “Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye know not; And come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered to do all these abominations?” (Jeremiah 7:9–10).

They committed all kinds of sin and then came to the temple feeling safe, as if being in God’s house would protect them from God’s judgement. God called the temple they had made “a den of robbers” (Jeremiah 7:11).

Beloved, coming to church does not cover sin; doing nice things to people does not stop the sin, only the blood of Jesus through genuine repentance can blot it out. Do not use the house of God as a hiding place for an unrepentant heart.

It is even more painful that some people use the name of God to deceive, exploit, manipulate and destroy others. They use Scripture to collect money dishonestly.

They use prophecy to control people. They use spiritual authority to abuse the vulnerable. Some even commit terrible acts and claim they are doing it for God.

The Bible warns against this. God commanded, “Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain” (Exodus 20:7).

Peter warned that false teachers would come, “And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you” (2 Peter 2:3).

Jesus rebuked the religious leaders who would “devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer” (Matthew 23:14). And He warned His disciples, “Yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service” (John 16:2).

The sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were priests who used their position to steal the sacrifices and abuse the women who came to the tabernacle.

The Bible says they “knew not the LORD” (1 Samuel 2:12). They were in God’s house, wearing God’s garments and handling God’s sacrifices, but God was not real to them. And judgment came: both of them died on the same day.

Beloved, if God is real to you, you will tremble at the thought of using His name for selfish gain. You will treat His people with honour, because they belong to Him.

Is God real in your life? When He gives you an instruction concerning your calling or assignment, what do you do? Some people hear God clearly, but as soon as the instruction looks difficult or inconvenient, they drop it quickly and say, “I am not ready for that.”

Moses gave God excuse after excuse at the burning bush. He said he was not eloquent, he said the people would not believe him, and finally he said, “O my Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand of him whom thou wilt send.”

And the Bible says, “And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Moses” (Exodus 4:13–14). Jonah heard God’s call to go to Nineveh, and he ran in the opposite direction, until God brought a storm and a great fish to bring him back.

There is nothing wrong with genuine preparation. God sometimes calls a person long before He sends them, and there is a season of training. David was anointed long before he became king.

But there is a difference between preparation and procrastination, between waiting on God and running from God. Saying “I am not ready” can be humility, or it can be disobedience in disguise.

When God is real to you, you will not treat His call as a suggestion. You will say like Isaiah, “Here am I; send me” (Isaiah 6:8). And if you truly feel unprepared, you will ask Him to prepare you rather than using it as an excuse to ignore Him.

Is God real in your life? Some people go to church, sit through the service, say “Amen” to every message, and as soon as the benediction is pronounced, they head straight into a lifestyle that contradicts everything they just heard. Their worship ends at the church gate.

Let me be clear: I am not condemning fellowship, celebration or social gatherings. There are godly celebrations, and Jesus Himself attended a wedding at Cana.

The problem is not having a social life; the problem is living a double life. It is when the same person who was lifting holy hands in the morning is found in drunkenness, immorality and ungodly behaviour in the evening.

God told Ezekiel about such people: “And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness” (Ezekiel 33:31).

They enjoyed the preaching like a beautiful song, but they never obeyed it. When Israel made the golden calf, the Bible says, “the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play” (Exodus 32:6). They mixed worship with idolatry and celebration with rebellion.

Paul later used this as a warning for the church (1 Corinthians 10:7). Beloved, if God is real in your life, He is not only God on Sunday morning; He is God on Saturday night and everyday too.

Until you have the fear of God, you will continue doing things your own way. The fear of God is not being terrified that God wants to destroy you. It is a deep reverence, honour and awe for who He is, that makes you careful about how you live before Him.

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom” (Proverbs 9:10). “By the fear of the LORD men depart from evil” (Proverbs 16:6). When Potiphar’s wife tried to seduce Joseph, nobody was watching.

Her husband was away. The servants were not in the house. But Joseph said, “How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?” (Genesis 39:9). Joseph did not say, “How can I sin against Potiphar?” He said, “against God.” God was real to him even when no man was watching.

That is the evidence of a person who truly knows God: they live the same way in secret as they do in public, because they know that God sees everything. “The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good” (Proverbs 15:3).

When you do not truly accept God as God in your life, you will begin to find yourself in trouble. When you make yourself the final authority, you will make decisions that lead to destruction.

“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death” (Proverbs 14:12). King Saul was told to wait for Samuel before offering the sacrifice.

But when Samuel delayed and the people began to scatter, Saul decided to do it himself. When Samuel arrived, he said, “Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the LORD thy God” (1 Samuel 13:13).

That decision cost Saul his dynasty. He believed in God, but God was not truly God in his decisions.

Beloved, the safest place to be is under the lordship of God. “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths” (Proverbs 3:5–6).

When God is God in your life, He will direct your paths. When you push Him aside, you will walk into trouble you could have avoided.

Beloved, let me say this clearly so that no one is condemned unnecessarily. This message is not saying that every Christian who struggles is a hypocrite, or that you must be perfect before God can be real in your life.

All of us are still growing. Even the apostle Paul said, “Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after” (Philippians 3:12).

There is a difference between a believer who is struggling and fighting against sin, and a person who is comfortable in sin while hiding behind religion. The first person falls, but they hate their fall, they repent and they rise again.

The second person sins deliberately, feels no conviction and uses God’s name as a cover. God has abundant grace for the one who is struggling and sincerely seeking Him. “For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again” (Proverbs 24:16).

The prodigal son wasted everything, but when he came to himself and returned home, the father ran to meet him. If you recognise yourself in this message, do not run away from God. Run to Him.

He is not waiting to destroy you; He is waiting to restore you. The question is not whether you have ever failed, but whether God is truly the Lord of your direction.

THE WORD FOR YOU TODAY

Beloved, when God is real in your life, it will not be a secret. It will show in how you pray, how you obey, how you speak, how you work, how you spend, how you love and how you live when nobody is watching. You will fear God more than men, please Him more than people and value His presence more than His presents.

May God become so real to you that every part of your life bears witness to Him. May your prayer life be filled with His presence, your decisions be guided by His Word and your character reflect His nature. And may people look at your life and say, like the rulers said of Peter and John, that you have been with Jesus. In the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

PERSONAL CHALLENGE

Beloved, today I challenge you to carry out an honest spiritual audit of your life. Take a notebook and write down the major areas of your life: your relationship with God, your marriage or relationships, your finances, your work or business, your words, your social life, your online life and your secret life.

Beside each one, ask yourself plainly, “Is God real here?” Write down the honest answer, even if it is uncomfortable.

And wherever you find that God has been pushed aside, make a specific decision to change. If you have been dishonest in business, decide to deal truly from today, and where possible, make restitution.

If you have been living a double life, end it now. If there is a sin you have been planning to repent of later, repent of it now and turn away from it. If you have been treating God’s Word as a suggestion, choose one instruction you have been ignoring and obey it this week.

If you discover that you have been living on religion rather than relationship, do not be ashamed. Confess it to God and tell Him plainly that you want to know Him for yourself.

If you have never truly surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, do it today. Pray from your heart, confess your sins, receive Him as your Lord and Saviour and invite Him to come in and make Himself real to you.

Next, examine your prayer life. Set aside a specific time each day this week when you will pray with your phone switched off and every distraction removed.

Give God your full attention going forward as you would give it to the most important person you know, and pray with faith, expecting Him to answer. Write down what you ask and watch how He responds.

Then think about any instruction God has given you concerning your calling, your assignment or your service that you dropped because you felt unready. Bring it back before Him.

If you truly need preparation, ask Him to prepare you and take one practical step towards it this week. If you have been hiding behind excuses, repent and say like Isaiah, “Here am I; send me.”

Finally, each night before you sleep, ask yourself one question: “Did I please God today?” Thank Him for the areas where you did, repent for the areas where you did not and ask for grace to do better tomorrow. As you do this daily, God will become more and more real in every part of your life.

EVANGELISM CHALLENGE

Many people around you have stopped believing that God is real because they have seen too many Christians whose lives do not match their confession. Your life may be the only Bible some people will ever read. Today, let your conduct be your first sermon. Be honest in your dealings, kind in your words and faithful in your work, so that people will ask about the God you serve.

Then reach out to one person, a colleague, a neighbour, a friend or a family member, and share honestly how God has become real to you. Do not preach at them; tell them what God has done in your life. Invite them to know Him personally through Jesus Christ, not as a religion, but as a living relationship. AFRICAN PROVERB

“Knowledge is like a garden: if it is not cultivated, it cannot be harvested.”

Meaning: A garden left untended produces weeds instead of fruit. In the same way, knowing God is not a one-time event but a relationship that must be cultivated daily through prayer, the Word, worship and obedience. Those who tend their walk with God will harvest His presence, power and peace. Those who neglect it will find their faith overgrown with doubt and dryness.

CLOSING REFLECTION

Beloved, God is not a story your parents told you or a tradition you inherited. He is the living God who created the heavens, who answered Elijah by fire, who walked in the furnace with the Hebrew boys and who raised Jesus from the dead. He is real, and He wants to be real to you.

So do not settle for religion without reality. Do not be satisfied with hearing about God when you can see Him for yourself. Seek Him diligently, surrender to Him completely and obey Him faithfully. As you do, He will reward you with Himself. And one day soon, like Job, you will lift your eyes and say, “I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee.”

Stay blessed, stay hungry for God, and stay on fire!
