EJOM DAILY DEVOTIONAL: June 27, 2026 – Blotting Out The Strange Marks

One question many people ask is, “Are all strange marks on the body spiritual, or ordinary?” This is an important question because not every mark that appears on the body has a spiritual origin. Some are birthmarks, skin conditions, cream reaction, scars, or changes in the body. Some of these marks are harmless and they do not have any negative impact.

Therefore, believers should avoid living in fear or assuming that every physical mark is the work of the devil. At the same time, the Bible shows us that marks can also have spiritual significance. A mark is a sign, symbol, or label placed upon a person or thing for the purpose of identification.

Throughout the Scriptures, we see that marks can represent protection, ownership, judgment, or identification. The first person who can place a mark is God Himself. In Genesis 4:15, after Cain killed his brother Abel, God placed a mark upon him. Although Cain was judged for his sin, the mark also served as a sign of protection so that no one would kill him.

This teaches us that God can place a mark upon us for His own divine purpose. Secondly, human beings can place marks on one another. In many cultures, tribal marks, tattoos, or body incisions are used for identification, tradition, or personal expression.

However, Leviticus 19:28 warns God’s people against making cuttings in their flesh or printing marks upon themselves as part of pagan practices. As believers, our identity should be found in Christ rather than in marks made by human hands.

Thirdly, the Bible speaks of satanic identification. In Revelation 13:16-18, the mark of the beast represents allegiance and submission to the kingdom of the Antichrist. This reminds us that Satan also seeks to identify those who belong to his kingdom. His goal is always to steal, kill, and destroy. Spiritually speaking, there are people who seem to carry strange marks that continually attract rejection, failure, delay, oppression, or repeated attacks.

One thing you should understand is that the enemy seeks to place bad labels on people. He wants a person to be identified by failure instead of favour, shame instead of glory, defeat instead of victory. But God has given His children a new identity in Him. Through the blood of Jesus Christ, every evil handwriting against us has been cancelled, and every accusation of the enemy has been nailed to the cross.

Many people are carrying strange marks upon their lives without realizing it. The mark can be placed in any part of their body. Some can be programmed on their glory. Some appear to be small, others appear to be serious. These evil marks can be used to identify a person for manipulations. Once these marks are in place, such a person will be facing disappointment.

The kingdom of darkness is very wise and cunning, and it understand the usefulness of marks. They use evil marks to identify their victims, to magnetise evil to a person as well as to block blessings and breakthrough. Evil marks include mark of rejection, spiritual embargo, mark of hatred, mark of bad luck, satanic perfume, victim syndrome, evil displacement, spiritual insanity, spiritual barrenness, desert spirit, desert anointing, sicknesses and diseases, etc.

The devil will eventually use the mark to cover a person’s glory. The mark of witchcraft opens a person to attack and oppression. The mark has something evil that stands as a strong covenant with you. This mark can be blotted out by revelation knowledge, prayers and the blood of Jesus. You need to first identify the mark, break evil covenant attached to it and use the blood of Jesus to erase it.

Sometimes, people wonder why they repeatedly encounter the same obstacles despite their own efforts. They work hard but make little progress. They qualify for opportunities but are continually overlooked. They begin well but rarely finish well. When patterns like these continue without any obvious explanation, it is wise to pray and ask God for mercy.

A good biblical example is the woman who had been bent over for eighteen years (Luke 13:10–17). She had a severe physical condition that left her unable to stand upright. However, Jesus revealed that she had been bound by Satan for eighteen years. While many may have viewed her condition as merely a physical illness, Jesus exposed the spiritual bondage behind her suffering.

The moment He spoke and laid His hands on her, she was immediately made straight and glorified God. This account reminds us that some problems have spiritual dimensions that require God’s power and divine intervention. Another example is Jabez. His mother named him Jabez because she bore him in sorrow. That name became a painful mark associated with his life.

But Jabez refused to allow that label to determine his future. He cried unto God, asking Him to bless him, enlarge his territory, keep His hand upon him, and preserve him from evil. The Bible says, “God granted him that which he requested.” God erased the sorrow attached to his name and gave him a new testimony.

Many believers wonder why certain battles seem to follow them everywhere they go. They relocate from one city to another, change jobs, enter new relationships, or start new businesses, yet the same patterns of disappointment continue. Sometimes these repeated experiences are connected to strange spiritual marks that need to be removed through sincere repentance, prayer, and the power of Jesus Christ.

Strange marks can manifest in different ways. Some people experience repeated rejection no matter how qualified they are. Many continually losing opportunities at the point of breakthrough. Some recurring sicknesses that medical treatment cannot fully explain. Others face constant marital disappointments, financial struggles, or cycles of failure that seem to repeat from one generation to another.

Perhaps there has been a pattern in your life that you cannot explain. Maybe you have prayed for years and certain battles keep returning again and again. Do not surrender to discouragement. Bring your life before God. Ask Him to search you, reveal anything that needs to change, and remove every obstacle standing against His purpose for your life.

When God blots out every evil handwriting and every strange label over your life, you will no longer be identified by your past, your failures, or your battles. You will be identified by the grace, mercy, and victory that come through Jesus Christ.

There are people today who carry invisible marks of rejection. Wherever they go, they are overlooked. Others receive favour while they receive excuses. Some carry what appears to be a mark of delay. Good opportunities come close but somehow slip away. Others labour faithfully, yet the fruit of their labour seems to benefit everyone except themselves.

These repeated patterns should drive a believer to seek God earnestly, asking Him to reveal every obstacle and establish His purpose in your life. Perhaps your family has struggled with repeated failure, untimely death, chronic poverty, broken marriages, or other recurring problems. Do not accept such patterns as your destiny. Bring them before the Lord in prayer.

Declare God’s promises over your life. Walk in obedience to His Word. There is another important truth every believer must understand. Strange marks do not remain on a person’s life forever if that person truly comes to Jesus Christ and stands upon His Word. The devil may place a negative label on a person, but he does not have the final say. God has the final authority over every life.

The Bible says, “Whom the Son therefore shall make free, he shall be free indeed.” Freedom in Christ is greater than every satanic claim. Remember, Jesus did not come merely to forgive sins. He also came to destroy the works of the devil. Whatever the enemy has written against your destiny, the Lord is able to blot it out.

Whatever label the enemy has placed upon your life, God can replace it with His favour. Whatever has been hindering your progress, God has the power to remove it. When God blots out every evil handwriting and every strange label over your life, you will no longer be identified by your past, your failures, or your battles. You will be identified by the grace, mercy, and victory that come through Jesus Christ.

Another example is the woman with the issue of blood. For twelve years, her condition became her identity. Everywhere she went, she carried the shame and pain of her affliction. According to the law, she was considered ceremonially unclean. But one touch of Jesus changed everything. The affliction that had marked her life for twelve years disappeared instantly.

When God steps into a person’s situation, years of reproach can be removed in a single moment Beloved, never forget that the greatest mark upon your life should be the mark of Christ. When your life is surrendered to Him, you belong to the Good Shepherd.  You no longer belong to the kingdom of darkness. You belong to God’s Kingdom, and His grace becomes your covering.

Therefore, refuse every identity that does not agree with the Word of God in your life. You are not marked for destruction but for redemption. You are not marked for shame but for glory. You are not marked for defeat but for victory through Jesus Christ.

Beloved, never become comfortable with anything that continually robs you of the joy, peace, and purpose that God has ordained for your life. If there is a recurring battle in your life, take it to God. If there is an unexplainable pattern, pray about it. If there is a burden in your spirit, seek the Lord concerning it. God delights in revealing hidden things to those who seek Him sincerely.

Every believer should therefore examine his or her life regularly. Are there recurring negative patterns that need to be addressed? Are there sinful habits opening doors to the enemy? Are there areas where repentance, forgiveness, restitution, or deeper prayer are needed? God is willing to blot out every strange mark, but He also calls His children to walk in holiness and obedience.

The blood of Jesus speaks better things than every evil mark. What the enemy has written against your destiny can be erased or blotted out by God’s mercy. What darkness has used to identify you can be removed by the power of the Holy Spirit. No matter how long the strange mark has existed, God is able to give you a new beginning.

Today, make up your mind to reject every identity that does not come from God. Refuse to answer to the names that the enemy has given you. You are not “the rejected one.” You are accepted in Christ. You are not “the failure.” You are more than a conqueror. You are not “the forgotten one.” God knows your name and has written it in the palm of His hand. The strange marks of the enemy may speak for a season, but the mark of God’s grace speaks forever.

Colossians 2:14 tells us that the handwriting that was against us has been blotted out. Whatever accusation the enemy writes against a believer can be cancelled through the finished work of Jesus Christ. The cross is God’s answer to every evil record standing against His children.If you notice repeated patterns of defeat, rejection, or oppression in your life, your first response should not be fear but faith.

Draw closer to God. Examine your walk with Him. Renounce every known sin, forgive those who have offended you, and remain steadfast in prayer. A believer who walks in obedience to Christ has every reason to trust in God’s protection and deliverance.

Beloved, the greatest mark you should desire to carry is not a mark of fear but the mark of belonging to Christ. When God places His hand upon your life, no evil identification can ultimately prevail against His purpose for you. Walk in holiness, remain under the covering of God’s Word, live a life of prayer, and trust completely in the victory that Jesus has already won for you.

Prophetic Declaration

I declare over your life today that every strange mark attracting rejection, delay, disappointment, failure, affliction, and hardship is blotted out by the precious blood of Jesus Christ. Every mark that says you will not prosper, be erased by the power of God. Every evil identity placed upon your life by the kingdom of darkness is cancelled in the mighty name of Jesus.

I decree that wherever your name has been marked for evil, the Lord shall replace that mark with His mark of favor, mercy, acceptance, and divine remembrance. Every inherited battle, every evil pattern, every recurring affliction, every generational limitation, and every cycle of failure working against your destiny is broken today by the power of the Holy Spirit.

I declare that from today, you shall no longer carry the marks of shame, rejection, delay, barrenness, stagnation, or disappointment. You shall bear only the mark of Jesus Christ. Where others have been rejected, you shall be accepted. Where others have struggled, God shall grant you unusual favor. Where doors have been closed against you, the Lord shall open doors that no man can shut.

Every invisible hand writing evil upon your destiny shall wither by fire. Every satanic handwriting speaking against your life is wiped away by the blood of Jesus.

I prophesy that your life shall reflect the glory of God. From today, you are marked for divine protection, divine provision, divine promotion, divine restoration, divine health, and divine breakthroughs.

No weapon formed against you shall prosper. Every tongue that rises against you in judgment is condemned. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in. His favor shall surround you like a shield, and His goodness shall follow you all the days of your life.

In the name of Jesus Christ, every strange mark is blotted out, every evil label is removed, and every mark of Christ upon your life shall speak for your victory, now and always. Amen.

Take time today to examine your life prayerfully. Identify any recurring negative pattern, sinful habit, or covenant that may be hindering your progress. Surrender every area of your life to God, repent from your sin and pray that every strange mark in your body to be blotted out by the blood of Jesus.

Share today’s message with someone who is tired of fighting against strange marks in their life. Encourage them that Jesus Christ will deliver them today, hoping that today is their day of Salvation.

Closing Reflection

No strange mark is greater than the power of God. Whatever the enemy has written against your life can be blotted out or erased by the blood of Jesus Christ. As you walk in holiness, remain steadfast in prayer, and trust in God’s promises, every mark of darkness will give way to God’s mark of favour, protection, and victory. Believe that your identity is in Christ, and let His grace define your future, not your past.
