EJOM DAILY DEVOTIONAL: August 3, 2026 – Let the World See Jesus in You
One of the greatest responsibilities of every Christian is to represent Jesus Christ faithfully. The moment you gave your life to Christ, you became His ambassador on earth. People may never read the Bible before meeting you, but they will surely read your life every day.
Your conduct, speech, attitude, and lifestyle will either encourage people to seek Christ or discourage them from following Him. This is why your life must continually reflect the One you profess to serve daily.
To let the world see Jesus in you means that your character should resemble His character. Jesus was compassionate to the brokenhearted, merciful to sinners, truthful in every situation, humble despite His greatness, and obedient to the Father in all things.
As believers, we should strive daily to become more like Him. Christianity is not merely about attending church services or carrying a Bible; it is about becoming more like Christ in our thoughts, words, and actions.
People should be able to see Jesus in the way you treat your spouse, raise your children, honour your parents, respect your leaders, and relate with your neighbours.
They should see honesty in your business dealings, integrity in your workplace, kindness toward strangers, patience during your difficult moments, and forgiveness toward those who offend you. Your testimony becomes stronger when your daily life agrees with your confession of faith.
One of the greatest ways to reveal Jesus to the world is through love. Jesus said that the world would know His disciples by their love for one another. Love goes beyond emotions; it is demonstrated through sacrifice, kindness, compassion, generosity, and forgiveness.
A believer who truly loves others reflects the very nature of God, because God is love. Another evidence that Jesus is living in you is the control of your tongue. The words you speak can either glorify God or dishonour Him.
A Christian should not be known for lies, insults, gossip, vulgar language, or constant complaining. Instead, your speech should encourage, comfort, correct others with love, and bring hope to those around you. Every conversation should reveal the wisdom and grace of Christ.
When people provoke you, they are often testing your character without realizing it. Anyone can smile when life is easy, but your true spiritual maturity is revealed by how you respond under pressure. Do you react with anger, revenge, and bitterness, or do you respond with patience, self-control, and wisdom?
Jesus remained faithful even when He was falsely accused, rejected, and persecuted. His example teaches us that our response to difficult people can become one of our greatest testimonies.
Your private life is just as important as your public life. Some people appear spiritual in church but live differently at home or at work. God is not impressed by outward appearances alone. He desires integrity – a life that remains consistent whether people are watching or not. Your hidden life should honour God just as much as your public ministry.
As you grow in Christ, let the fruit of the Holy Spirit become increasingly visible in your life. Let people see love in you instead of hatred, joy instead of bitterness, peace instead of anxiety, patience instead of impatience, kindness instead of harshness, faithfulness instead of compromise, gentleness instead of pride, and self-control instead of uncontrolled emotions.
These qualities are evidence that Christ is truly at work within you. Remember, the world is not looking for perfect people; it is looking for authentic believers whose lives genuinely reflect Jesus.
Every act of kindness, every word of encouragement, every decision to forgive, every stand for truth, and every life lived in obedience becomes a testimony that points people to the Saviour.
Therefore, let your light shine not for your own glory, but so that others may see Christ in you and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
The early disciples were first called Christians because people observed that they had been with Jesus (Acts 11:26). Their boldness, humility, love, and devotion made it obvious that they belonged to Christ. They did not need to convince people with mere words because their lives spoke louder than their sermons.
Today, many people claim to know Christ, but their behaviour tells a different story. God is looking for believers whose lives preach the Gospel even before they open their mouths.
The greatest sermon many people will ever hear is not preached from a pulpit, it is seen through the lives of believers. Before people listen to your message, they often observe your character.
They watch how you speak, how you treat people, how you respond to pressure, and how you conduct yourself when no one seems to be watching. Whether you realise it or not, your life is constantly communicating something about the God you serve.
Jesus did not only command His followers to preach the Gospel; He also called them to be the light of the world and the salt of the earth. Light is meant to shine, and salt is meant to influence.
As Christians, we are called to make a positive difference wherever God places us. Our words, attitudes, actions, and decisions should point people to Christ rather than push them away from Him.
Unfortunately, many unbelievers reject Christianity not because they have rejected Christ, but because they have encountered believers whose lives contradict the message they preach. When there is no visible difference between the lifestyle of a Christian and that of the world, the power of our witness is weakened.
God desires that our lives reflect His character so clearly that people will glorify Him when they see us. Letting the world see Jesus in you does not mean living a perfect life without mistakes.
Rather, it means allowing Christ to transform your heart daily so that His love, mercy, humility, purity, truth, patience, and forgiveness become evident in the way you live. Every believer has been called to represent Christ faithfully in the home, the workplace, the church, the community, and everywhere God opens a door.
Many people will never read the Bible, but they will read your life every day. They will observe how you speak, how you treat people, how you respond to challenges, how you handle success, and how you react when you are offended. For many unbelievers, your life may be the only sermon they ever hear.
God did not save us simply to prepare us for heaven. He also saved us to become His representatives here on earth. We are called to reflect His love, His holiness, His compassion, His humility, His forgiveness, and His truth.
Wherever we go – at home, in the workplace, in school, in business, or among friends – people should be able to see the difference that Christ has made in our lives.
Personal Challenge
Today, make a conscious decision to let Jesus be seen in you. Before you speak, act, or respond to any situation, ask yourself, “Will this reflect the character of Christ?”
Choose one area of your life that needs to become more like Jesus whether it is your speech, attitude, forgiveness, humility, patience, honesty, or love and intentionally work on it today through the help of the Holy Spirit.
Be kind to someone who cannot repay you. Forgive someone who has offended you. Speak words that encourage rather than discourage. Let your actions point people to Christ.
Before you go to bed tonight, spend time in prayer and self-examination. Ask yourself, “Did anyone see Jesus in me today?” If the answer is no, ask God for the grace to become a better reflection of Christ tomorrow.
