MATTHEW 2:12-14

¹² And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.

¹³ And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.

A dream is the eye of the spirit. A dream makes you to be aware of the activities that took place in your dream. Dreams occurs when we sleep. A lucid dream is a type of dream in which the dreamer becomes fully aware that they are dreaming. Have you ever dream and suddenly realize that you were dreaming? Have you ever gain control over your dream?

If your answer is yes, you have experience what is called lucid dreaming or dream within a dream. In Genesis 37, Joseph had a victorious dream that makes his own brethren to hate more and more. Joseph had a lucid dream that makes him take control of the promises of God to him. A dream that he will become king, a dream that people will give him respect because God is about taking him higher, because of that revelation, unfortunately, his father rebuked him and envied him the more.

When God wants to convince you, he will make nation to bow down to you. The spiritual meaning of dream within a dream I to know that you are dreaming and begin to control and have authority over the activities. For example, you may dream that you are eating in the dream, if you have it, immediately you realize it, you will vomit it in that same dream.

You may be aware that you are bedwetting in the dream, but you wake up being wet. You may dream that you are holding gun in the dream, but subconscious mind will tell you son/daughter this is just a dream but can take action as though this is happening to you in the real life.

During lucid dream, you are aware that the events took place in your dream which you take control over as if you are directing a movie in your sleep or that you are acting in an unusual way.

Another clear example of dream with a dream is when you look at the mirror in the waking life, obviously you will see yourself, yourself in the mirror is the lucid dreaming because you are aware that you are looking at that mirror and you are also seeing your body movement reflecting in the mirror. Also, if one aware of a dream within a dream, then the particular dream will stop. You may wake up immediately or continue your sleep without dreaming.

Biblically, God might use this dream to show you many things like revealing his plans or he might warn you to be cautious of people, it might reveals deep mysteries to you that could be positive or negative. Some lucid dreams can represents he state of your mind. That could represent you have a very active spiritual awareness while you are dreaming.

If you see a man that wants to touch your head in the dream, immediately you will challenge and stop the man. A lucid dreamer is a powerful person. The person is spiritually sensitive. Dream within a dream can give you a total control of your dreams. When you dream within a dream, devil cannot overcome you, devil cannot harm you, and you will take control. In the Bible, Joseph takes control of his dream, a lucid dream is when you feel like doing good or dealing with enemies.

In conclusion, having a dream within a dream, God may want you to be aware of certain things about to take place whether good or bad, it could be avoiding people or otherwise.
