EJOM DAILY DEVOTIONAL: August 5, 2026 – Power Against Cobweb Powers

You know that corner in your house, the one behind the door, the one in the kitchen, the dirty ceiling nobody clean for over a long period of time. Go and check those places today. What will you likely find there? Cobweb.

Just hanging there quietly, undisturbed, growing thicker every day because nobody is paying attention to that corner. That is exactly how the enemy operates in the lives of many Christians today. He does not come with force. No! Cobweb powers are not that dramatic. They are patient. They are quiet.

They pick the corner of your life that you are not watching, and they begin to spin, thread by thread, day by day, until one day you want to move forward and you discover something is holding you, something is pulling you back, and you cannot even point at what it is.

No wonder, cobwebs are often associated with spiders. But spiritually, cobwebs represent something deeper: invisible hindrances, delays, entanglements, stagnation, frustration, sickness, death, poverty, and satanic traps.

Just as a spider spins its web quietly, without announcement, to trap unsuspecting insects, in this way, the enemy also spins invisible spiritual webs across the path of God’s own children to slow them down.

Today we are pulling out the fire of the Holy Ghost and we are burning every one of those webs. Are you ready?

Many believers dream of walking into cobwebs, struggling to wipe cobwebs off their face, entering old abandoned houses filled with cobwebs, or watching spiders actively weaving webs around them in the dream or reality.

And what do they do when they wake up? They yawn, they stretch, they say “its just an ordinary dream” and they carry their bag and rush to work or pretend nothing.

Beloved, when this kind of dream repeats itself, the spirit realm is filing a report to you. The spirit of darkness is gradually killing your spirit.

There are certain powers in the kingdom of darkness that do not fight you with anger, they do not fight you physically, but they fight you with patience. And that is what makes them dangerous. We are talking today about cobweb powers.

Understand this, beloved. Cobweb powers are not just symbolic. They are real, functioning agents of the kingdom of darkness whose assignment is to set traps, to monitor a household, and to pollute the atmosphere of a home.

When a family begins to experience one strange delay after another, one frustration after another, one manipulation after another, it is not always ordinary.

Somebody, somewhere, in the spirit realm, is spinning a web (curse) against you. And that web has one purpose, to capture. To capture your glory. To capture your good discussions before they produce fruit. To capture your dreams before they mature. To capture your profit before it lands in your account.

To capture the expectation that God has already spoken over your life. Now hear me. This is why the physical state of a place matters spiritually. If you find cobweb gathering in a corner of your house, in a ceiling, in a store, in an office, and that place is left unattended for a long time, do not treat it as a small, harmless housekeeping issue.

Remember uncleanness invites the devil and gives them comfort to stay in your residence. The physical cobweb is a signpost. It is telling you that somebody is operating from that area.

Wherever a demon is comfortable, that demon will begin to influence the atmosphere of that entire environment. That is why deliverance is not only spiritual, it is also practical. Clean your house. Clean your surroundings. Do not give any power a comfortable seat in your dwelling place.

There are people, and the very moment they walk into a cobweb-covered atmosphere, physically or spiritually, something good that was on its way to them suddenly stops. Beloved, it does not just delay generally, it specifically converts progress into disappointment.

If a woman is pregnant, that pregnancy that was moving well, that was full of hope, that was full of expectation, suddenly encounters trouble, and the pregnancy fails. If such a person is walking in joy, genuinely happy, laughing, celebrating, suddenly, without warning, sorrow arrives and swallows that joy whole.

If such a person is standing at the edge of a long-awaited promotion, the very door they have worked for years to reach, one small, sudden, bad event rises up and scatters the whole arrangement before they can walk through it.

If such a person is preparing for marriage, the invitations almost ready, the plans almost complete, one strange event, one sudden misunderstanding, one unexpected tragedy, and the whole thing falls apart.

Beloved, do you see the pattern now? This power is not interested in attacking you when you are already down, it specializes in attacking you at the point of your breakthrough.

It watches, it monitors, exactly as we said earlier, and the moment it sees you are approaching the finish line, the moment it sees the fulfillment of your plans or expectation drawing near, that is precisely when it attacks, converting what should have been your testimony into your tragedy.

That is why some people are described as having “almost” written all over their lives, almost pregnant successfully, almost promoted, almost married, almost breaking through, but never quite arriving, because a cobweb power has positioned itself specifically at the point of completion, waiting to convert progress into delay at the last possible moment.

Beloved, I want you to picture a spider. A spider does not chase its prey through the forest. A spider does not wrestle its prey to the ground. A spider builds, and then a spider waits. That is the strategy of cobweb powers.

They do not confront you directly, because they know direct confrontation will make you fight back, it will make you pray, it will make you seek God with everything in you. So instead, they use subtlety.

They use gradual discouragement, one small disappointment at a time. They use repeated temptation, testing you again and again until your resistance weakens. They use distraction, filling your time with things that do not matter so that the things that matter never get attention.

They use deception, making darkness look like light and makes light look complicated. They use compromise, convincing you that a small compromise today will not cost you much. They use fear, paralyzing your steps before you even attempt anything. And they use spiritual laziness, lulling you into a comfortable sleep while your enemy is wide awake working.

This is exactly why the scripture commands us to be sober and vigilant, because our adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. Notice, beloved, the lion roars, but the spider does not roar. The spider is quiet. That is why so many believers are alert against the lion but completely unguarded against the spider.

You are watching for the loud attack, and meanwhile a quiet web is being spun around your destiny. Think about Peter in the book of Acts, chapter twelve. He was bound in prison, chained between two soldiers, guarded on every side, sentenced to die the next morning.

As far as the natural eye could see, that was a web with no way out, an entanglement designed to end his life and silence his ministry. But the Bible tells us that while Peter slept, an angel of the Lord appeared, a light shone in the cell, and the chains fell off his hands by themselves.

Beloved, notice that Peter did not break those chains through his own struggling, they fell off supernaturally when heaven intervened. That is exactly what happens when the fire of God touches a cobweb power, the threads simply give way, because no chain, no web, no trap can hold when the light of God’s presence shows up.

Here is something interesting about a spider’s web, beloved. Sometimes, it is almost invisible to detect a spider is in a place until somebody walks into it. Nobody sees it from a distance in the ordinary sense. You only discover it when your face, your hand, your body suddenly feels the sticky threads wrapping around you.

That is exactly how many people have fallen into satanic traps. They did not see it coming, they are not aware not because God did not want to show them, but because they never paused to ask Him.You will not find a physical web hanging anywhere, and yet, spiritually, there is a web attacking your virtues, entangling your glory, trapping your plans, and choking your expectations.

So do not limit this teaching to only what you can see with your eyes in the corner of your ceiling, beloved, the greater battle is often the one happening in the realm you cannot see.

Now let me ask you something, and I want you to think about it seriously. Have you ever observed, maybe in your own house, maybe in a relative’s house, maybe a house you have visited, that wherever cobwebs are allowed to gather and remain undisturbed, the people living in that house always seem to be under one attack or another?

Somebody is always sick. Somebody is always fighting with somebody. Somebody’s business is always struggling. Somebody’s marriage is always shaking. You will start to notice that pattern, beloved, and you will ask yourself, “Why does it seem like trouble follows this particular house?” I will tell you why.

Cobwebs attract evil spirits. Just as dirt attracts flies, just as rotten food attracts maggots, an unclean, neglected, cobweb-covered environment attracts and welcomes demonic activity. Darkness is comfortable where there is neglect, beloved, and a house allowed to gather cobwebs, physically or spiritually, is sending out an open invitation to the powers of darkness to come and settle down.

And what exactly does the work of this spiritual cobweb seek to achieve. It projects satanic dreams into the sleep of the occupants of that house, dreams filled with confusion, fear, chasing, falling, dreams that leave you waking up tired instead of refreshed. It projects sickness, ailments that defy medical explanation, sicknesses that keep recurring in that same household year after year.

It projects failure, so that every attempt, every effort, every good plan  ends in disappointment. It projects financial problems, money that comes in with one hand and disappears through the other hand almost immediately. It projects disappointment after disappointment, until hope itself becomes something the people in that house are afraid to hold onto.

It projects conflict, unnecessary quarrels, misunderstandings that should never have escalated the way they did. And in its worst manifestation, it projects divorce, tearing apart what God has joined together, using tiny irritations magnified by a spirit working quietly behind the scenes.

Beloved, I need you to understand, the powers behind all of this are not ordinary powers, they are satanic powers, deliberately, strategically assigned against households, against families, against destinies. This is spiritual warfare, real warfare, happening in a realm you cannot see with your natural eyes but can absolutely discern and confront through the Spirit of God.

You see, a cobweb power that has been allowed to settle in a dwelling does not only trouble the adults in that house, it reaches for the children too. That is why you sometimes see a brilliant child suddenly begin to struggle in school for no clear reason. That is why you see a gifted young person suddenly lose interest in the things of God, suddenly become entangled in bad company, suddenly start making decisions that make no sense for someone raised in a godly home.

Beloved, do not always assume it is simply “the stage they are going through.” Sometimes, that same cobweb power sitting quietly in a corner of that house has been spinning its threads around the children born into that atmosphere, catching them the same way it has been catching the older generation, because that is exactly how generational bondage travels, it does not ask the new child for permission, it simply extends its web to meet them where they are born

That is why, beloved, when you begin to pray and sweep and consecrate your dwelling, do not pray only for yourself, pray specifically over your children, over everyone under your roof, over everyone connected to that address. Call out every young life in that house by name before God and say, “Father, let no web of the enemy ever wrap itself around this child’s destiny.”

Do not wait until the child grows up confused, entangled, and stagnated before you start praying, beloved, fight for them now, while they are still young, while the web is still thin, before it thickens into a stronghold that will take years to break.

Now let me also speak a word to those of you who have moved from house to house, from city to city, from country to country, and yet the same pattern of attack keeps following you.

Beloved, sometimes it is not the building that carries the cobweb, sometimes the web has attached itself to the family line itself, and it will simply relocate its operation to wherever the family relocates to, spinning fresh threads in the new environment the same way it did in the old one.

That is why some families keep experiencing the same cycle of sickness, failure, disappointment, and conflict no matter where they move to. Beloved, if this describes your situation, understand that your prayer must go beyond the four walls of your current house, it must go to the root, to the family altar, to the ancestral covenant that keeps inviting this same spider spirit generation after generation.

Break it at the root, and it will have nowhere to follow you to. As children of the living God, we are not called to be victims of these powers, we are called to be conquerors over them. We are not called to simply endure cobweb attacks generation after generation, accepting them as “family problems” or “bad luck,” no.

We are called, we are equipped, and we are commanded, to confront these powers of darkness head-on, and to defeat them completely, until we finish the fight, until there is nothing left of that web but ashes.

You are not a helpless fly waiting to be caught, beloved, you are a soldier of the cross, fully armed, fully equipped, with authority in the name of Jesus Christ, with the blood that never loses its power, and with the fire of the Holy Ghost that no cobweb, however old, however deeply rooted, however generational, can withstand.

I want you to notice something about how Jesus Himself dealt with situations like this. When He walked this earth, He did not simply talk about demons from a distance, He confronted them directly, He commanded them by name, He cast them out with authority, and they had no choice but to obey.

Mark’s gospel tells us that even the unclean spirits, when they saw Him, fell down before Him. Beloved, that same Jesus lives in you today, and that same authority has been given to you. You are not sending a suggestion to these cobweb powers, you are issuing a command, and hell must respond.

Now let me give you something practical, beloved, because deliverance is not only what happens on the inside, it must also show up in what you do with your hands. If cobwebs attract evil spirits, then cleanliness and consecration close the door against them. I am not just talking about sweeping dust, I am talking about a lifestyle of spiritual maintenance.

Anoint the corners of your house with oil and pray over them. Do not leave any part of your dwelling unattended, unswept, unprayed over, for too long. Sing praises in that house until the atmosphere itself begins to resist darkness. Read the Word of God out loud in every room, because demons cannot comfortably remain where the Word is being spoken with authority.

Beloved, your house is not just a building, it is a spiritual territory, and territories must be actively defended, not passively occupied. Sometimes these cobweb powers gain entry not just through physical neglect, but through the sins and compromises that were allowed to happen within those walls.

Strife allowed to remain unresolved becomes an open door. Idols or objects of divination brought into a house become an anchor point for these spirits. Immorality tolerated under that roof becomes fertile ground. Bitterness nursed for years by someone living in that house becomes a resting place for darkness.

So beloved, as you sweep the physical cobwebs, also examine what has been allowed to fester spiritually within your walls, and deal with it at the root, through genuine repentance and the blood of Jesus.

Let me remind you also, beloved, that Jesus already dealt the decisive blow against these powers at Calvary. Colossians tells us that having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them. That word “spoiled” means He stripped them, He disarmed them completely.

Every cobweb power operating against your household today is already a defeated power, beloved, they are simply hoping you never find out, they are counting on your ignorance to keep operating. But today, you know. And what you now know, you have authority to enforce.

Let me show you exactly what you can do deal against the cobweb powers

You can deal with cobweb powers through the Word of God. Jesus said man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. The Word in your mouth is not just information, it is a weapon. When you speak Scripture over your situation, you are not merely encouraging yourself, you are releasing fire into the atmosphere that no web can withstand. Speak the Word daily over your house, your family, your finances, your children. Do not just read it silently, beloved, say it out loud, because there is creative power in the spoken Word.

You can deal with cobweb powers through the blood of Jesus. Revelation tells us they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony. The blood of Jesus is not old news, beloved, it is present, active, and effective right now. Plead the blood over every entangled area of your life, your relationships, your business, your ministry, and watch every strand snap.

You can deal with cobweb powers through fervent, violent prayer. Matthew tells us the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force. This is not the time for casual, sleepy prayers, beloved. This is the time to pray with fire, with tears if necessary, with holy desperation, until you feel the atmosphere shift.

You can deal with cobweb powers through consistent praise and worship. When Paul and Silas sang praises at midnight in that prison, the foundations shook and the chains fell off everyone in that place. Beloved, praise is not just a song, it is warfare. Fill your house with praise regularly, and watch how quickly darkness loses its grip on that atmosphere.

So beloved, do not go back to that house, that room, that corner of your life, and treat this teaching as mere information. Go back with fire. Go back with the Word in your mouth. Go back with praise on your lips. Go back with oil in your hand and authority in your spirit. Sweep every physical cobweb, and as you sweep, declare out loud that every spiritual cobweb behind it is destroyed by the blood of Jesus.

Do not do this once and relax, beloved, make it a lifestyle, a consistent, disciplined pattern of keeping your dwelling both the natural house and the house of your spirit, clean, swept, and filled with the presence of God, so that darkness finds no comfortable corner to settle in ever again.

The good news is that every web can be destroyed. No matter how carefully a spider has built its web, one sweep of the broom removes it completely. Likewise, the power of God is able to destroy every spiritual obstacle standing against His children.

The blood of Jesus Christ speaks better things than every accusation of the enemy. The Word of God exposes hidden traps. The Holy Spirit gives discernment. Persistent prayer strengthens the believer to overcome every scheme of darkness.

The enemy may weave webs, but he cannot stop the purpose of God for a life that is fully surrendered to Christ. Every invisible web of delay shall be broken. Every web of confusion shall be torn apart. Every web of discouragement shall catch fire. Every web designed to trap your destiny shall be consumed by the power of the Holy Ghost.

Today, refuse to remain in any web the enemy has prepared. Rise in faith. Rise in prayer. Rise in holiness. Rise in obedience. As you remain under God’s covering, every satanic web shall be destroyed, every hidden trap shall be exposed, and you shall walk in the liberty and victory that Jesus Christ has purchased for you.

Beloved, A believer who walks daily in fellowship with God, who keeps the Word active in their mouth, who maintains an atmosphere of praise and worship in their home, who deals promptly with strife, bitterness, and compromise, will naturally keep their dwelling clean, and filled with God’s glory, for any cobweb to comfortably form and settle.

Remember this truth: a spider’s web is strong enough to trap an insect, but it cannot withstand the fire of God. When the fire of the Holy Spirit burns upon your life, every web of darkness must give way, and your destiny shall move forward to the glory of God.

Prayer Assignment (Night)

Before going to bed, read Psalm 121, Isaiah 54:17, and Psalm 124, then pray these prayers with faith.

1. O God of Elijah, let every evil cobweb spread over my life while I slept be consumed by Your fire tonight, in the name of Jesus.

2. Every satanic spider assigned to weave affliction around my destiny, die by fire, in the name of Jesus.

3. Every invisible hand manipulating my life from the kingdom of darkness, wither by the power of God, in the name of Jesus.

4. Every evil net prepared to capture my blessings, be torn into pieces by the fire of the Holy Ghost, in the name of Jesus.

5. Every altar speaking delay, disappointment, and stagnation against my life, catch fire and be destroyed, in the name of Jesus.

6. I cancel every evil dream programmed against me tonight. I shall sleep in peace and wake up in victory, in the name of Jesus.

7. Every monitoring spirit assigned to observe my movements and report my progress to the kingdom of darkness, receive permanent blindness, in the name of Jesus.

8. Every spiritual pollution deposited into my life knowingly or unknowingly, be flushed out by the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.

9. O Lord, send Your angels to surround my home and let every evil visitor be arrested by heavenly fire, in the name of Jesus.

10. Every witchcraft operation planned against me in the midnight hours shall fail and return upon the sender, in the name of Jesus.

11. Every blessing stolen from me through satanic traps and manipulation, be restored sevenfold by the power of God, in the name of Jesus.

12. I disconnect myself and my family from every invisible web of failure, poverty, sickness, and untimely death, in the name of Jesus.

13. Every chain tying my destiny to the past is broken today. I enter a new season of freedom and progress, in the name of Jesus.

14. Father, let Your consuming fire go before me and destroy every hidden obstacle prepared for tomorrow, in the name of Jesus.

15. Every cobweb of limitation hanging over my head, catch fire and be destroyed forever, in the name of Jesus.

16. O Lord, let every hidden enemy waiting for my downfall be exposed and disgraced, in the name of Jesus.

17. Every satanic padlock placed upon my doors of breakthrough, be broken by the hammer of God, in the name of Jesus.

18. Every evil hand covering my star, remove your grip and catch fire, in the name of Jesus.

19. Every spirit assigned to make me labour without results, your assignment is over; die by fire, in the name of Jesus.

20. O God, let every good opportunity I have lost through delay be restored with divine compensation, in the name of Jesus.

21. Every invisible chain tying me to failure and disappointment, break by fire, in the name of Jesus.

22. Every witchcraft arrow fired against my health, finances, family, and ministry, return to your sender sevenfold, in the name of Jesus.

23. I reject every garment of shame, reproach, and frustration. I put on the garment of honour, favour, and divine celebration, in the name of Jesus.

24. Every evil verdict spoken against my destiny, be cancelled by the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.

25. O Lord, let every satanic meeting held because of me end in confusion and failure, in the name of Jesus.

26. Every prison of darkness holding any area of my life captive, break open by the power of the Holy Ghost, in the name of Jesus.

27. Father, release Your angels to recover every blessing, opportunity, virtue, and favour stolen from me by the enemy, in the name of Jesus.

28. Every power assigned to turn my joy into sorrow shall be put to shame. I shall rejoice and testify, in the name of Jesus.

29. Every spider of affliction spinning fresh webs around my family, die by the fire of the Holy Ghost, in the name of Jesus.

30. Every satanic embargo placed upon my blessings, be lifted by the power in the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.

31. Every evil mark attracting battles, rejection, and hardship into my life, be wiped away by the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.

32. Father, let every hidden blessing assigned to me this month locate me without delay, in the name of Jesus.

33. Every power sitting upon my promotion, relocation, marriage, business, ministry, or career, be unseated by fire, in the name of Jesus.

34. Every satanic rope binding my hands from receiving God’s blessings, break and catch fire, in the name of Jesus.

35. I command every door that the enemy has closed against my progress to open by fire, in the name of Jesus.

36. Every evil voice speaking failure, delay, and defeat into my life, be silenced forever by the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.

37. O God of divine acceleration, restore every year, month, week, and opportunity I have lost to satanic delays, in the name of Jesus.

38. Every trap set for me this week shall trap its makers instead, in the name of Jesus.

39. Father, let the light of Your glory expose every hidden work of darkness around my home, office, business, and ministry, in the name of Jesus.

40. I decree that from today, every invisible wall standing between me and my divine destiny shall collapse by the power of God, in the name of Jesus.

41. I command every gate of delay standing at the edge of my miracle to be blown open, in Jesus’ name.

42. Every hidden altar sustaining a cobweb power in my family house, be pulled down, in Jesus’ name.

43. I recover every blessing this power has quietly stolen over the years, in Jesus’ name.

44. Let the wind of the Holy Ghost blow every remaining web off my destiny completely, in Jesus’ name.

45. Every spirit of sudden bad news, be arrested before you can locate me, in Jesus’ name.

46. Let every cobweb power operating in my office, my business premises, or my workspace be destroyed, in Jesus’ name.

47. I command my expectation to be too strong, too covered, and too guarded to be tampered with, in Jesus’ name.

48. Every generational fly caught in this web before me, I am not following that pattern, in Jesus’ name.

49. Let the light of God’s glory saturate every corner of my life so darkness has nowhere to hide, in Jesus’ name.

50. Every dream sent to hijack my expectation while I sleep, be cancelled, in Jesus’ name.

51. I break every yoke of stagnation this power has fastened upon my finances, in Jesus’ name.

52. Every attempt to replay past family tragedies in my own life, be cancelled, in Jesus’ name.

53. Let the joy the enemy has aborted in my life before be fully restored and multiplied, in Jesus’ name.

54. Every power assigned to trap my helpers before they reach me, be scattered, in Jesus’ name.

56. Every spirit assigned to make me doubt myself at the edge of victory, be silenced, in Jesus’ name.

57. I decree that every good plan I have made this year comes to full manifestation, in Jesus’ name.

58. Every spirit assigned to visit me in dreams to announce trouble, you are disconnected now, in Jesus’ name.
