DAY 16: A CRY FOR MERCY TO CORRECT MY STEPS

Psalm 32:7-8

Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah. I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

Psalm 27:4

One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.

Psalm 51:11-12

Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

Psalm 119:133

Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.

Jeremiah 10:23

O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.

INTRODUCTION

Many people pray earnestly for speed, favour, and breakthrough, yet they overlook one of the most critical prayers of destiny, the prayer for the correction of steps.

A single wrong step can open the door to regret and frustration, and when a person moves in the wrong direction, destiny itself can become blocked.

The tragedy of wrong steps is that they often appear right at the beginning. They feel logical, convincing, and even rewarding for a season, yet their end is destruction.

Scripture warns us clearly that there is a way that seems right to a man, but its end leads to death. What looks correct to the natural mind may be dangerous in the spirit.

When steps are taken wrongly, effort and time are wasted, and dreams become truncated. You may sincerely believe you are doing the right thing, yet be doing it the wrong way.

You may feel confident in your prayers, yet be praying without divine direction. You may think you are walking with the right people, while unknowingly remaining in the wrong associations.

Until steps are corrected, progress remains limited. A wrong method can corrupt a right purpose. A person may be serving God faithfully, yet serving Him outside His prescribed order.

Doing the right thing in the wrong way often produces delay, frustration, and unexplainable struggles. Not every counsel is from God; some advice, though appealing, is rooted in deception and leads to error.

That is why, in today’s programme, there is a strong call to cry out to God for mercy to correct wrong steps. One uncorrected mistake can scatter years of labour, and the enemy often uses such mistakes to pull people backward in life.

Many have stumbled in different areas such relationships, decisions, careers, ministry, and spiritual walk, but it is not too late to realign. God’s mercy is available to realign your path, recalibrate your direction, and restore your destiny.

While you cannot undo the past, you can start making divine adjustments and corrections today. As you cry out to Him with genuine repentance and desperate hunger for His guidance, His mercies will arise to correct every wrong step you have taken.

As you cry to God today, may His mercy intervene to correct every wrong step. May the Lord heal the consequences of past mistakes, realign your journey, and grant you a second chance to walk accurately in His will.

CONFESSION

O God of mercy, I humble myself before you today. Correct every wrong step I have taken, guide my feet and silence every wrong direction in my life. From today, my steps shall no longer miss God. Father lead me out of error into truth by your mercy. Order my steps O Lord so that I can fulfill purpose. So help me God. Praise & Worship Spend 5-10 minutes in worship songs. Say Lord, take new steps this year, I surrender my way to you.

PRAISE AND WORSHIP

Spend 15 minutes in heartfelt thanksgiving and worship, glorifying God for His correcting mercy that has saved you from countless disasters. Thank Him for every wrong step He has prevented, every dangerous path He has blocked, every toxic relationship He has ended, every poor decision He has overruled, and every detour He has redirected.

Worship Him as the faithful Father who loves you enough to correct your course, even when His correction felt painful at the moment. Let your praise be specific and let your worship be genuine, flowing from a heart that appreciates;

HYMN: – When We Walk With The Lord

1 When we walk with the Lord in the light of his word, what a glory he sheds on our way! While we do his good will, he abides with us still, and with all who will trust and obey.

Refrain: Trust and obey, for there’s no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

(DAY 16): A CRY FOR MERCY TO CORRECT MY STEPS – Prayer Points

1. O God of mercy, forgive me for every step I took without Your direction, in the name of Jesus.

2. Father, by Your mercy, correct every wrong movement I have made in life, in the name of Jesus.

3. O God, rescue me from making progress in the wrong direction, in the name of Jesus.

4. By Your mercy, O Lord, disconnect me from paths that will end in regret, in the name of Jesus.

5. Any habit that keeps leading me off track in life, let Your mercy correct me now, in the name of Jesus.

6. O God of mercy, interrupt my movement anytime I am about to miss you, in the name of Jesus.

7. Father, if I am in the wrong place, let Your mercy push me out in anyway, in the name of Jesus.

8. Any wrong relationship leading me away from God’s plan, I flee from it now, in the name of Jesus.

9. Any step that will cost my destiny, O Lord scatter it by Your power, in the name of Jesus.

10. Any voice pushing me towards error or mistake in life, be silenced by fire, in the name of Jesus.

11. Father, if my spirit is not willing to take correction, correct me now so I will not cry later, in the name of Jesus.

12. Any step I am taking that will delay my destiny, O Lord reverse it by Your mercy, in the name of Jesus.

13. By Your mercy, O Lord, cancel every future regret attached to my wrong decisions, in the name of Jesus.

14. Any misalignment between my effort and Your plans for my life, be corrected by Your mercy, in the name of Jesus.

15. Father, let my steps bring joy and not regret, in the name of Jesus.

16. Lord, guide me away from paths that will steal my peace and joy, in the name of Jesus.

17. Father, remove stubbornness from my spirit that resisting Your correction in my life, in the name of Jesus.

18. O Lord of mercy, examine my ways and correct every step I have taken outside Your will, in the name of Jesus.

19. Father, by Your mercy, realign my life with Your divine purpose and original plan, in the name of Jesus.

20. O God, forgive me for every wrong decision I have made in ignorance or pride, and redirect my path, in the name of Jesus.

21. By Your mercy, uproot every error that has planted delay and confusion in my journey, in the name of Jesus.

22. By Your mercy, heal the consequences of my past mistakes and restore me fully, in the name of Jesus.

23. Father, silence every voice that is misleading my decisions, and redirect me to Your perfect will, in the name of Jesus.

24. By Your mercy, O Lord,  remove every stubborn habit that keeps pushing me off course, in the name of Jesus.

25. O Lord, correct my steps in my career, marriage, ministry, business and calling, help me to fulfil my purpose, in the name of Jesus.

26. Father, restore every opportunity I have missed because of wrong steps and judgement, in the name of Jesus.

27. O Lord, guide my steps daily so I will not stumble again, in the name of Jesus.

28. By Your mercy, O Lord, break every cycle of repeating the same mistakes again, in the name of Jesus.

29. Father, as I cry for mercy today, perfect everything that concerns my steps, in the name of Jesus.

30. Father, let Your Spirit restrain me whenever I am about to take a wrong turn in life, in the name of Jesus.

31. O Lord, by Your mercy, uproot every wrong foundation influencing my steps, in the name of Jesus.

32. O God, restore my steps from the paths of regret and shame, in the name of Jesus.

33. By Your mercy, bring divine order to every area of my life in disorder, in the name of Jesus.

34. O Lord, correct my steps where pride has made me reject Your counsel, in the name of Jesus.

35. Father, release grace to obey Your instructions promptly in my life, in the name of Jesus.

36. Father, let Your mercy block every wrong door before I enter into it, in the name of Jesus.

37. By Your mercy, O Lord, lead me away from traps set for my destiny, in the name of Jesus.

38. O God, correct my steps where I have trusted myself more than You, help me Lord, in the name of Jesus.

39. Father, renew my mind so I may choose rightly, hear rightly, and achieve rightly, in the name of Jesus.

40. By Your mercy, O Lord, reposition me on the path of progress and favour, in the name of Jesus.

41. By Your mercy, O Lord,  let wisdom guide my daily movements, in the name of Jesus.

42. O God, establish my steps in righteousness and truth, in the name of Jesus.

43. Father, correct my steps where distraction has derailed my focus, in the name of Jesus.

44. By Your mercy, O Lord, let my future be greater than my past errors, in the name of Jesus.

45. O God, teach my hands to choose wisely and my feet to walk rightly this year, in the name of Jesus.

46. Father, seal my corrected steps with Your peace and joy, in the name of Jesus.

47. O God arise in Your mercy and teach me to seek You first before taking any decision, in the name of Jesus.

48. By Your mercy, O Lord, let my steps bring peace to me, and not trouble, in the name of Jesus.

49. O Lord, by Your mercy, deliver me from costly mistakes ahead of time, in the name of Jesus.

50. Father, let my corrected steps bring glory to Your name, in the name of Jesus.

51. Father, let my steps be ordered daily by Your word, in the name of Jesus.

52. By Your mercy, uproot every pattern of wrong movement inherited from my background, in the name of Jesus.

53. By Your mercy, deliver me from decisions that delay destiny fulfilment, in the name of Jesus.

54. Father, give me grace to pause and pray before every major decision in life, in the name of Jesus.

55. By Your mercy, O Lord, let my steps no longer be governed by desperation, in Jesus’ name.

PRAYER ASSIGNMENT

Meditate on the words of God, ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any area where you are walking outside God’s will, repent of all misdirection He exposes to you, then boldly declare: “Father, I surrender my steps to You today; I surrender and submitted every decision, every conversation, every direction to Your leading, take absolute control, Lord.
