Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. In vs 10, it says, Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

BASIC SERMON ON THE MERCY OF GOD AND HIS FORGIVENESS
We serve a living God who is a forgiving and a faithful Father (2 Cor 1:3). He understands our weaknesses and grants us the grace for repentance and confession of our sins. He doesn’t want us to be condemned by sin. In spirit of our daily sin that we often commit as a believer, He still finds ways to reminds us of the implication of our sin. And that’s why He came into this world to die our sin.
He came to show us His love for sinners. He came to brings us back to God. He came to take away our condemnation and gives us eternal life (John 3:16). The mercy of God can cause a man to be forgiven of all his sin. If he is willing to repent from his sin, he will prosper and obtain God’s mercy.
There has to be forgiveness for anybody else who has ever done anything against you. It is true that such person may have done a very evil, terrible thing to you. You may have every legal and intellectual right to hold a grudge and to hate that person. But if you want to see miracles or the mercy of God in your life, it is absolutely imperative that you forgive them so that your heavenly father can also forgive you..
With the great sacrifice Christ has offered to mankind, it hardens the heart of the Holy Spirit to see some Christians crucifying Christ the second time and put him to open shame (Hebrews 6:4-6). The salvation Jesus procured for us is “eternal.” We have “eternal redemption,” “eternal inheritance,” and “eternal covenant.” What a great Savior!
One of the common mistakes made by many is to blame others for their problems. Some blame the devil, their parents, friends or even their own family. But do you know that your secret sin can be your worst enemy? The mentality of this present days Christians are false judgement, and are linking the source of their problems to the devil. Why do you think God doesn’t like the word ”sin”, It is because it is an enemy.
When God created Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden everything was going on fine until they fell into sin of ”disobedience”. God had to expose them, punish them and chase them out of their place of blessings (Gen 3:22-24). I pray for you, may you not receive divine punishment because of your secret sin, in the name of Jesus.
It would interest you to know that the devil is openly disgracing some people who are practicing sin and keeping them away from their loved ones. This is not an act of a good Christian. This act of demonstration cannot facilitate the mercy of God. No matter how tempting sin is, with Christ, you have the power to resist it forever (James 4:7). And this is a beauty of salvation.
1 Corinthians 10:13 says that with every temptation, God provides a way of escape and you cannot be tempted beyond what you can bear. Grace cannot quench the habit of your sin (Rom 6:1). It can only warn you to work on your sin through the grace of God. If you accept favorable scriptures that gives a soft message on sin, but reject the ones that tells you the wages of sin is death, you will only restrict the flow of the divine mercy and forgiveness from overwhelming you. Don’t allow devil to deceive you that no one can stay away from sin.
All of Colossians 3 is a very good description of a born-again Christian, starting with: “If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.” Colossians 3:1-4.
For example, when you asked some people this question: When do you got born again? The major answer would be about 5 years ago, 10 years ago, 20 years ago etc. Sometimes you will imagine if they have not yet falling back into sin. Rededicating your life to Christ is another ways of asking for the mercy of God upon your sin.
In this case, a new birth is necessary for our spiritual growth and speedy accomplishment of the Gospel of Christ. Everyone is born a sinner, that is the reason our soul needs to be reborn—made pure and righteous again—the way God created us to be right from Adam. As a Christian, God expects us to dislodge sin, even before it intoxicate your spirit man.
Psalm 40:11
Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O Lord: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me.
A person who has vowed to God that he will never associate himself with that sin only to see the person wallowing himself in that sin can rubbish his salvation process. In our world today, we felt we could just pray, we could just fast. we could just make vow, we could just shout while praying and that’s it. We fail to remember that there are some vows or prayer covenants which we made with God and fails to stand by them.
This is one of the reasons God says in Romans 9:15, For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. There are some people who loves their sinning lives and they don’t want people or any church to preach sin and their implications to them. This is the set of people you will find in most churches today crying to God for healing, breakthrough, marital breakthrough, favour to mention but a few of them. Some people do not mind being in church for years without believing in their doctrines.
What mercy of God can do for you?
The mercy of God can heal you again. The mercy of God take away the reproach from your life. The mercy of God can beautify your marriage with children. The mercy of God can make the host of heaven to remember you. When the mercy of God comes upon you, you will begin to notice signs and wonders.
The mercy of God can glue to you to be your shield and hope. During your mercy season, it is possible for your mockers to celebrate with you. When God actually forgives you, you will become a successful and prosperous person on earth, and fully recognize in your family terrain.
God is so mindful of the people that He release mercies upon, but today, the mercy of God will find you, in the name of Jesus. Abraham served God and he was blessed, and he was remembered by his mercies. God knows you and He is fully acquainted with what you are going through. Are you passing through a situation that people are aware of but they don’t seem to care about it? Or have you committed a big sin that no one knows about it?
Stop bothering your mind. That’s the reason he established this mercy prayers for you. He knows everything about that situation. More importantly, He wants to do something about it if only you will let Him come in by surrendering yourself to Christ.
Do you want to be made whole? In other words, do you want the Lord to remove the consequences of that sin upon your life? If your answer is yes, then let the Holy Spirit come into your heart, trust Him and open up completely to Him. He will surely hear you and have mercy on you.
God loves you for the fact that you know that you are a sinner and the ability for you to confess and renounce the sin. In 5 minutes, can you open your mouth and start asking the Holy Spirit, I am sorry for my sins. Please forgive and show me your mercy.

If you are not born again or you are not sure of your salvation, please pray these prayers before you continue:
Oh Lord my Father, I come to you this day as a sinner. O Lord, have mercy on me, forgive me of all my sins and make me your child as from today. Wash me clean thoroughly with the blood of Jesus and write my name in the Book of life. I am determined to obey you and hearken to your voice only. My spiritual life is gone, refill me afresh with your power and glory. I use this opportunity to confess, repent and surrender myself to You. Thank you my Father for saving my soul. I declare that I am born again through the glory of God, in Jesus name. (John 3:16).
Steps to take in this 100 days prayers of Mercy and Forgiveness
Morning Session
- Begin with praise and worship
- Study the Scripture each day.
- Memorize the memory verse for each day.
- Pray fervently on the prayer given.
- Take confession prayers (Bible verses).
Night session (before bed time)
- Praise and worship God
- Recite the memory verse
- Repeat the prayers.
- Take any prayer as being led by the Holy Spirit.
The terms and conditions for this 100 days prayer programme
Galatians 5:19-21 , Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Before you embark on this programme, you must make sure you stay away completely from sin. Sin is a serious offence before God. It will make no sense when you are taking prayers of mercy and forgiveness and you are indulging in sin. Wait a minute! What are your most common sins? Meaning, what are your weaknesses? Galatians 5:19-21 explain deeply about the type of sin that may jeopardize all your efforts in this program. I pray for you, may you not pray in vain, in Jesus name.
IMPORTANT CONFESSIONS TO MAKE:
In the name of Jesus, as I make this confession of the word of God into my life, I believe and I receive the power that is in the word of God into my spirit, into my soul and into my body. I command that at the name of Jesus Christ, every knee should bow, of things in heavens, of things on earth and things under the earth. I am a child of God, a child of light, a child of glory. I believe that Jesus Christ will show me mercy and forgiveness after this programme. I believe that Jesus will hear my cry of mercy. O Lord, I accept You as my personal Lord and Saviour.
Father, I am sorry for the sin which I have committed knowingly or unknowingly. I know that the sin of my past is hurting my destiny, O son of David, I plead for Your mercy and forgiveness this day. I belong to You, O Lord. I surrender everything to You and deposes every worldly materials currently in my possession. I promise not to indulge in sin again. I am determine to stay away from sin and other unholy attitudes.
I am now a new creature, old things are passed away; my old life is done away with, I am now living a new life, the life I now live is in Christ Jesus. JESUS CHRIST has paid the price for me with His blood and set me free; Satan and his demons have no more power or dominion over my life. For whomsoever Jesus has set free is free indeed and I am free indeed. Jesus has delivered me from all the power of darkness, including my present sin and the sin of my past. I am delivered from principalities, powers, dominions, and all the forces of darkness.
I say bye-bye to my sin (mention them) today and forever more. So therefore, I receive divine mercy in my marriage, divine mercy in my career, divine mercy on my womb, divine mercy in my business, divine mercy and forgiveness on the destiny of my children and my foundation (family). I declare that all the devilish acts of the enemy in my life are erased and finished, in Jesus name. Right now, I cut myself loose from all the links with the kingdom of darkness (flesh). Thank you Jesus for saving me! Prepare your seed of mercy, tithe, offering and start praying on it.

- Lord Jesus, let my hand become an instrument of divine prosperity, in the name of Jesus.
- Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated from you. I am truly sorry, help me, O Lord, in the name of Jesus.
- Father, because I gave to the poor, bless me, make me happy and be fulfilled all the days of my life, in the name of Jesus.
- Father, because I surrender my life to you, deliver me from troubles that seems not to end, in the name of Jesus.

- O Lord, I refuse to be held back in the Spirit, fire of God soak me with your fire, in the name of Jesus.
- Father Lord, I have sinned against you and against my loved ones in thought, word and deed. I have no right to approach You, but have mercy on me, in the name of Jesus.
- Lord Jesus, I do not deserve to be forgiven of my sins, but I ask for you mercy today, arise and locate me, in the name of Jesus.
- Heavenly Father, in any way I have disobeyed you, please Lord, do not allow me to be forgotten by You, in the name of Jesus.

Praise and Worship
- Every arrow fired to kill my brain and memory from thinking straight, come out by fire, in the name of Jesus.
- Every form of bewitchment upon my brain and memory, scatter and die, in the name of Jesus.
- Lord Jesus Christ, (lay your hands upon your head), reactivate my brain and memory, in the name of Jesus.
- O Lord, visit every form of deficiency and malfunctioning in my brain and memory, in the name of Jesus.
- Embargo of brain dullness and memory failure in my life, scatter to pieces, in the name of Jesus.
- Arrows that makes me not to remember what my husband/wife told me, come out by fire, in the name of Jesus.
- Any evil food causing me to forget the important day of my life, flush away by fire, in the name of Jesus.
- O Lord, I reactivate the brain of my children for academic breakthroughs, in the name of Jesus.
- Any evil transferred into my head through laying on of hands, back fire to senders, in the name of Jesus.
- Any evil done against my head from the day I was born till today, receive fire, scatter and die, in the name of Jesus.

- Every word spoken and sealed with any demonic blood against my destiny, receive fire, break and scatter, in the name of Jesus.
- Every secret word and embargo tying me down, break and scatter to pieces, in the name of Jesus.
- Every evil word issued on my body to render me impotent, back fire, in the name of Jesus.
- O Lord, let, let Your plan and Your word stand in my life forever, in the name of Jesus.
- Prophesy and speak good word to yourself and family for 7 minutes.
- O God of Esther, break and destroy every evil judgement keeping me in one place, in the name of Jesus.
- O Lord, I need Your help, lift me up above the level I am now, in the name of Jesus.
- Lord Jesus, let my body become Your dwelling place, in the name of Jesus. (Lay your right hand on your chest).
- O Lord, release Your sanitizing fire on me to sanitize my negative attitude towards others, in the name of Jesus.
- Every evil attitude inherited from my mother/father side that does not want me to live a fulfilled life, loose your hold over me…….(mention your names), in the name of Jesus.

Praise and Worship
- Father, I thank you for the strength, passion and determination to take this prayer this far. All glory be to God.
- Every altar of stagnation in my ministry, business, or the one erected in my house, be consumed by fire, in the name of Jesus.
- O Lord, anoint and quicken every area of my life to prosper and move forward with speed, in the name of Jesus.
- Anything that is secretly working against me day and night, receive fire and die, in the name of Jesus.
- I break and cut off myself from every evil family pattern of……………………., in the name of Jesus.
- I use the blood of Jesus to scatter every dream of marital delay and pollution, in the name of Jesus.
- Holy Spirit, blind fold the evil strong woman monitoring me and my destiny, in the name of Jesus.
- Every deceptive relationship that does not have good ending, O Lord, help me to separate myself from it, in the name of Jesus.
- Those that gathered against me, O Lord, give them problem they will never recover from, in the name of Jesus.
- I command every depression that leads to suicidal thought to delete from my mind by the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.

Praise and Worship
- Blood of Jesus, enter the foundation of my marriage and let it favour us, in the name of Jesus.
- Blood of Jesus, wipe away every marine attachment to my marriage, in the name of Jesus.
- Anything planted to draw or render me poor in this marriage, receive fire and die, in the name of Jesus.
- (Point your hand to your house floor) and say this: Fire of God, shake the foundation of this house, You this house, you will not give me problems, in the name of Jesus.
- Every witchcraft control over this house, break and scatter by fire, in the name of Jesus.
- O Lord, let this house support my progress of my marriage, in the name of Jesus.
- This house, you shall not empty me, you shall not become a disgrace to me, in the name of Jesus.
- O Lord, let this house become Your dwelling place as from today, in the name of Jesus.
- Anything that will trouble me and my family in this house, die by fire, in the name of Jesus.
- The bad spirit on the formal occupant of this house will not saturate/affect my life negatively, in the name of Jesus.

- O Lord, make a way for my virtues, in the name of Jesus.
- O Lord, deliver my benefits from witchcraft and marine attacks, in the name of Jesus.
- O Lord, enlarge my coast and bring my expectation to fruition, in the name of Jesus.
- O Lord, subdue my nation before me and lose the lions of kings for my destiny, in the name of Jesus.
- The voice of God and the song of gladness shall flourish my life, in the name of Jesus. (Jer 33:11).
- Oh my spirit, awake from your slumber and accomplish your purpose in my life, in the name of Jesus.
- Father, my mouth shall show forth your righteousness and your salvation all the days of my life, in the name of Jesus.
- O God, please, do not far from me, make haste for my help today, in the name of Jesus.

- O God my Father, thank you for the privilege to know you and the power of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
- O God my Father, thank you for always being there for me and with me.
- O God my Father, thank you for the great and mighty things that you are doing in my life.
- O God my Father, thank you for your provision and protection over me and my household.
- O God my Father, thank you for always answering my prayers.
- I confess my sins before you today and I ask you to forgive me on the basis of your mercy, in the name of Jesus.
- In spite of the efforts and temptations of the enemy, I shall surely reach and achieve my life goals, in the name of Jesus.
- I stand on the Word of God. I decree that I shall not operate below or outside my destiny; and my destiny will not suffer affliction, in the name of Jesus.
- I receive the power to overtake and outrun those that are ahead of me in the race of life, in the name of Jesus.
- O God my Father, I know this is not your plan for me, arise and fulfill your plan concerning my life, in the name of Jesus.

- The God who changed the lot of Jacob, answer me by fire, in the name of Jesus.
- The God which quickeneth the dead and calleth those things that be not as if they are, answer me by fire, in the name of Jesus.
- The God of all possibilities, answer me by fire, in the name of Jesus.
- Lord, help me to identify and deal with any weakness in me that can hinder the manifestation of my miracles, in the name of Jesus.
- I receive victory over all the forces of wickedness standing against me, in the name of Jesus name.
- O Lord, grant me my heart desires this month, in the name of Jesus.
- No matter how difficult is my situation, I refuse to admit that my situation is impossible, in the name of Jesus.
- All demonic charms that is embedded in the name of my family is destroyed right now, in the name of Jesus.
- Oh Lord, save me totally from the enemies within my family, in the name of Jesus.

- O Lord, bring to confusion all those who plot against my life, in the name of Jesus.
- I decree that those who knew my root and are blocking my progress shall be like chaff and be blown away from the land of the living, in the name of Jesus.
- O Lord, cancel every curse on this land that will make my family suffer, in the name of Jesus.
- O Lord, use your voice of thunder to pass judgment on all negative powers that are working contrary in my family, in the name of Jesus.
- O Lord, redeem all those good things that has been spoilt in my life, in the name of Jesus.
- O Lord, I refuse to share with the curses of my family. For your word said that the soul that sinneth it shall die. Therefore, every generational curses hanging over my head is null and void, in the name of Jesus.
- O God arise and deliver me by fire from every ancestral curses that I have been initiated into , in the name of Jesus.
- My Father! If there is anything my fore-fathers have done that will not let me reach my promised land, I separate myself from it today, for I am a new creation, in the name of Jesus.
- I cancel every influence of family idols attached to my life and destiny, in the name of Jesus.
- Father, go ahead of my enemies and frustrate there plans against me, in the name of Jesus.
