PRAYER POINTS AGAINST THE STORM OF LIFE

Mark 4:35-41
And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side. And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.  And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?  And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?  And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

John 16:33 
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

There are various storms that confronts people on a daily basis. They includes: marital storm, financial storm, ministry storm, health storm, business storm, academic storm, etc.  These storms are often controlled by the power of marine witchcraft to cause the downfall of a man. Sometimes the storms in our lives appear without warning.

Jesus was in the boat with his disciples sleeping when ‘without warning, a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat’ ( Matt 8:24).  In the midst of every storms there are moments of calm and peace. God has given us dominion over all circumstances our fear has created for us. However, in many cases the devil does not want to release us from their custody.

But the Bible says, there is nothing that is too difficult for God to handle. What are your own storms of life? Whatever it may be, the power of God shall remove them from your life, in Jesus name. In the Bible, Noah found favor before God, but he later planted a vineyard that produced wine and he got drunk and fell out with God. Drinking was his storm. The Bible also tell us the story of Joseph. Joseph had serious problems, his brothers dealt with him in a bad way. Hence, he was put in prison.

However, it was from the prison that he got to the throne. Every storm has a reason. The reason could be divine or satanic. The story of Job was another case study who faced a big storm. If you are a Bible reader, you will agree with me that Job was a “blameless” and “upright man,” always careful to avoid doing evil ( Job 1:1). At a point, God allows Satan to torment Job to test his faith, but he forbids Satan to take Job’s life in the process.

In Genesis  21:1-23:20, The Bible makes us to understand that Abraham certainly faced storms in his life. A storm big enough to force a man to divorce his wife and make the home suffer. He faced life full of struggles, lack and famine, but when God stepped into his marriage, it  starts with a wonderful moment of calm in the midst of these storms.

‘The Lord was gracious to Sarah… and… did for Sarah what he had promised’ (21:1). In addition, they had had to wait a long time, but eventually God’s promise was fulfilled. During the waiting period the challenge is to keep on trusting God. ‘Sarah became pregnant and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the very time God had promised him’ (v.2). It was a moment of great joy. Sarah said, ‘God has brought me laughter, and everyone who hears about this will laugh with me’ (v.6).

What is a Storm?

Storm is a violent disturbance of the atmosphere with strong winds and usually rain, thunder, lightning or snow. Spiritually, a storm represent a season of obstacles, difficulties, setbacks, poverty, struggle, a trial moment etc. To calm a storm of life means to resolve, overcome, to take authority, to maintain peaceful moment.  This means that whenever you are facing in life, Jesus Christ has taken control over it for your supernatural breakthrough and transformation.

Satanic storm hinders one from getting results in life. It is destined to happen to everyone in varying degrees. Satanic storm does not give notice of arrival; it has no respect for personality or opinion, though it varies from person to person. It brings a helpless situation, It shattered the hope of a man to pieces. It can be chaotic, violent and harsh. However, one’s preparedness to calm the storm places you in high advantage to overcome it.  Once a storm comes, immediately, it arrest your goodness and joy. No matter how powerful is the situation, the power of God is enough to deal with it permanently and rise no more.

When Jesus gave order to go to the other side Matthew 8:18, He knew the storm was coming John 2:25. The Lord never promised we will never see storm in life ( as a matter of fact, He has told us to expect trouble, John 16:33. Rather, He has promised to be with us in the storm. He will never leave his children alone in the midst of trouble, with perseverance, they will overcome Deuteronomy 31:8, James 1:12. Being a Christian does not exempt us from storm of life. The fact that we are Christians do not insulate us from going through difficulties. Not all storms are orchestrated by God, obviously devil and your self mistake could trigger it. The good news, however is, among those that passed through storms in the Bible like David, Jonah, Paul, Daniel, Blind Bartimaeus, Hannah etc came out restored.

WAY OUT?

• Determine to cross to the other side, don’t loose focus or be distracted Philippians 3:15-
• Do not Worry. We call ourselves Christians and still we are worried, anxious over everything Philippians 4:6-7, Matthew 6:25-34
• Do not Fear. Mark 4:40 You are a Christian still afraid. When you have Jesus inside of you, you do not need to fear. We should stop glorifying the devil. Isaiah 41:10
• We must have faith. Mark 4:40, Mark 11:22-23
• Always recognize Jesus as the storm destroyer and let your faith be strong Mark 4:41.

12. O God, distribute sorrow to all covens assigned to me, in Jesus name.
13. O God, arise, let Your anger be the breakfast, lunch and dinner of every power hired to curse me, in the name of Jesus.
14. I release catastrophe and poverty upon any power assigned to rubbish my destiny, in the name of Jesus.
15. 0 earth, refuse to execute the counsels of native and witch doctors assigned against me, in the name of Jesus.
