DAY 26: A CRY FOR MERCY AGAINST THE POWER OF DELAY AND STAGNATION

Psalm 51:1-2

Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.  Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

Psalm 102:13

Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. INTRODUCTION

Delay and stagnation are never things people desire or welcome into their lives. They are serious obstacles that stand between a person and their God-given plans, dreams, and destiny. These forces can trap someone in one spot for years, even decades, preventing the progress and advancement that God has ordained.

History has shown us that the power of delay has brought down many people from positions of greatness and promise to places of frustration and nothingness. Delay and stagnation are strategic tools of the enemy designed specifically to keep God’s people in bondage and prevent them from entering their prophetic destiny.

Waiting on God is not only good, it is biblical and necessary. The Scriptures teach us that those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. However, waiting becomes deeply frustrating and spiritually dangerous when that waiting begins to turn into prolonged stagnancy, when years pass with no movement, no breakthrough, and no visible change.

This is exactly what happened to the children of Israel. They were stagnated in Egyptian bondage for four hundred years, crying out under the weight of oppression, until the mercy of God finally prevailed and their deliverance came.

The spirit of delay is a demonic force that specifically denies people their progress, their success, and their forward movement in life. It is a spirit that whispers lies such as: “There’s no need for you to move forward. Stay where you are. Accept this as your portion. Progress is not for you.” This spirit works to kill hope, destroy expectation, and convince believers that their current stagnant condition is permanent.

We must understand the critical difference between godly waiting and satanic delay. Godly waiting is a season of preparation that empowers your spirit, deepens your faith, builds your character, and positions you for greater assignment. During godly waiting, though you may not see immediate results, your faith remains strong, your hope stays alive, and your spirit is at peace knowing that God is working behind the scenes on your behalf.

However, when that waiting begins to produce frustration, anxiety, hopelessness, and a sense that nothing will ever change, it has crossed over into delay. The key indicator is this: your faith level has dropped. When waiting no longer strengthens you but weakens you, when it no longer builds your trust in God but creates doubt and despair, you are no longer in godly waiting, you are experiencing satanic delay that must be broken through prayer, warfare, and a fresh encounter with God’s mercy.

But here is the glorious truth that you must hold onto no matter how long you have been in this battle: the mercy of God will come to your rescue. Just as God raised up Moses at the appointed time to deliver Israel from their stagnation, God will send the right person, the right opportunity, the right divine intervention to save you and release favour over your life.

Your stagnation has an expiration date, and God’s mercy is writing that date right now. One thing God will never do is allow the righteous to end in shame. Psalm 37:25 declares, “I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread.”

By the grace of God, you will not end in shame. Your story will not conclude in defeat, disappointment, or disgrace. The Lord who began a good work in you will complete it, and your latter end shall be greater than your beginning.

Understand that crying out for mercy is not the same as crying to be heard by people around you or seeking human sympathy and validation. True crying out for mercy is your spiritual connection to the Holy Spirit. It is the act of casting all your burdens, all your concerns, all your fears, and all your frustrations upon Him, knowing that He cares for you.

It is pouring out your heart before the only One who has the power to change your situation, reverse your delays, and release your breakthrough. The power of divine mercy is absolutely limitless. It can restore all your wasted years especially those years lost to bad decisions, to demonic attacks, to sickness, to false witness, to dead-end relationships.

God’s mercy can recover your lost opportunities, the doors that were closed, the connections that were severed, the good moments that seemed to pass you by. His mercy can push you forward into your promised land with supernatural speed, causing you to possess in days what should have taken years.

As you cry out to Him for mercy concerning your situation whether it is financial stagnation, career delay, ministry frustration, marital delay, or any area where you feel stuck, may the Lord hear your cry and answer you speedily.

May He deliver you from all your fears, break every chain of delay, destroy every spirit of stagnation, and release you into the spacious place He has prepared for your life. In Jesus’s mighty name, your season of movement, progress, and breakthrough begins now!

CONFESSION

O Lord my God, I come before Your throne acknowledging that without Your mercy, grace, and divine enablement, I cannot move forward, make progress, or succeed in any area of my life. Every breath I take, every step I make, and every victory I achieve flows directly from Your goodness and compassion toward me.

Today I approach You not with pride or self-righteousness, but with a humble and contrite heart, recognising my absolute dependence upon Your mercy. I confess that I have not always obeyed Your instructions, honoured Your Word, or walked fully in alignment with Your perfect will for my life.

There have been moments when I chose my own way instead of Yours, when I delayed obedience, when I compromised truth, and when I allowed fear, doubt, or distraction to pull me away from Your divine plan.

Father, I sincerely repent for every act of disobedience, every moment of rebellion, every time I grieved Your Holy Spirit through my choices, words, thoughts, and actions.

I ask for Your forgiveness, knowing that You are faithful and just to forgive me and cleanse me from all unrighteousness according to 1 John 1:9. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.

Lord, I pray that Your mercy would not only forgive me but also release me from every bondage, limitation, delay, and setback that has resulted from my disobedience or the attacks of the enemy. Let Your mercy open doors that sin has closed, restore relationships that rebellion has damaged, and recover time that has been wasted. Where I have built with wood, hay, and stubble, let Your mercy consume what is worthless and establish what is eternal.

I decree that my season of waiting upon You will not be turned into satanic delay, demonic stagnation, or spiritual frustration. I refuse to allow the enemy to steal my expectation, peace or my glory. While I wait on You, Lord, renew my strength like the eagle’s. Let my waiting be active, prayerful, obedient, and full of faith. Let it produce character, perseverance, and deeper intimacy with You rather than discouragement and doubt.

Father, I ask that You would order my steps according to Your Word, guide me by Your Spirit, correct me when I stray, and keep me on the narrow path that leads to life. Help me to fulfill every aspect of the destiny You ordained for me before the foundation of the world. Let nothing neither my failures nor satanic opposition abort the purpose for which You created me.

I surrender my plans to Your plans, my timing to Your timing, my wisdom to Your wisdom, and my will to Your will. Have Your way in my life completely. Where I have been stubborn, make me flexible. Where I have been fearful, make me courageous. Where I have been double-minded, make me steadfast. Where I have been lukewarm, set me on fire for Your glory.

Lord, I receive Your mercy with thanksgiving, Your grace with humility, and Your favour with responsibility. I commit to stewarding well what You ‘ve released to me, to walking worthy of the calling I have received, and to glorifying Your name in all I do. My life is not my own; I am bought with a price, and I exist for Your purposes.

So help me God. Strengthen me by Your Spirit in my inner being. Establish the work of my hands. Let Your favour surround me like a shield. Let Your angels go before me to prepare the way. Let Your presence go with me in every situation. And let my life become a testimony of what Your mercy can accomplish in a surrendered vessel. In Jesus name. Amen!

PRAISE AND WORSHIP

Set aside 15 minutes to glorify His holy name through songs of worship, hymns of adoration, and spiritual melodies that flow from your heart.Lift your voice and sing unto the Lord with gladness. Whether you sing aloud or quietly in your spirit, let every word be a sweet-smelling sacrifice ascending to His throne.

As the Scripture declares in Psalm 100:4, “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless His name.” Allow the Holy Spirit to lead your worship. Sing hymns that declare His majesty, His faithfulness, His power, and His love.

Let songs of victory, songs of surrender, songs of gratitude, and songs of consecration pour forth from your innermost being. Whether you sing any hymns or songs, let your worship be genuine, passionate, and focused entirely on exalting Jesus Christ.

Sing with your whole heart. Worship Him in spirit and in truth. Let praise be your weapon, your testimony, and your declaration that the Lord reigns forever. Amen.

(DAY 26): A CRY FOR MERCY AGAINST THE POWER OF DELAY AND STAGNATION – Prayer Points

1. O Lord, by Your mercy, uproot every power delaying my destiny, in the name of Jesus.

2. Every curse and evil covenant issued against me from unknown people that is working to stop me, break by fire, in the name of Jesus.

3. Father, by Your mercy break every yoke of stagnation holding down my destiny, in the name of Jesus.

4. Father, let Your mercy accelerate every good thing that has been delayed in my life, in the name of Jesus.

5. Father, what should have manifested in my life years ago, O Lord, let Your promise begin to come forth by Your mercy, in the name of Jesus.

6. O Lord, forgive me by Your mercy for the mistake or wrong decision that has opened the door to delay in my life, in the name of Jesus.

7. Every power or anyone sitting on my plans, expectations and goals in this year, be unseated, in the name of Jesus.

8. Father, arise in Your mercy, and terminate prolonged waiting and stagnation by Your intervention, in the name of Jesus.

9. Anyone monitoring my life to ensure I remain at one level, I command you to die, in the name of Jesus.

10. Father, have mercy on my financial situation. Let every delay in my promotion, employment, business success or financial blessing, end now, in the name of Jesus.

11. O Lord, extend Your mercy to my family. Let every generational delay and pattern of stagnation affecting my lineage, break now. Let my family experience supernatural breakthrough and testimonies, in the name of Jesus.

12. Every recurring pattern of near-success that ends in failure, I break your cycle in my life by the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.

13. Father show me mercy, and let this period be my season of completion, fulfilment, and manifestation of Your glory in my life, in the name of Jesus.

14. Father, I cry for mercy over my present situation, arise and remove anything or anyone delaying my destiny, in the name of Jesus.

15. Every evil altar where my name, photo, shirt, or destiny has been placed to cause delay in my life, I command that altar to catch fire and be destroyed now, in the name of Jesus.

16. Every witchcraft manipulation, enchantment, or spell programmed to delay my breakthrough this year, be destroyed by fire, in the name of Jesus.

17. Every limitation placed on me through my location, background, environment, name or wrong marriage, I break your power now, in the name of Jesus.

18. O Lord, by Your mercy, arise and terminate every power of delay working against my destiny, in the name of Jesus.

19. Father, let Your mercy uproot every root of stagnation planted in my life, in the name of Jesus.

20. Every power sitting on my progress, be displaced by divine mercy, in the name of Jesus.

21. O Lord, by Your mercy, release me from every cage of stagnation, in the name of Jesus.

40. By Your mercy, O God, let divine acceleration replace delay in my life, in the name of Jesus.

41. Every power delaying the manifestation of my prophecies, be cancelled by mercy, in the name of Jesus.

42. O Lord, by Your mercy, let my destiny move forward without resistance this year, in the name of Jesus.

43. Father, let Your mercy shatter every satanic checkpoint monitoring my progress, in the name of Jesus.

44. Every spirit of stagnation hiding in my foundation, be exposed and destroyed by mercy, in the name of Jesus.

45. By Your mercy, O God, I refuse to be stuck in one place anymore, in the name of Jesus.

46. Every power that has vowed I will not move forward this year, be disgraced by mercy, in the name of Jesus.

47. O Lord, by Your mercy, usher me into unstoppable progress, in the name of Jesus.

48. Father, let Your mercy destroy every altar of delay speaking against my progress, in the name of Jesus.

52. O Lord, I have waited long enough. Let Your mercy arise and command speed into every area of my life experiencing delay, in the name of Jesus.

53. Every spirit of delay assigned to postpone my destiny, I bind you and cast you into the abyss, in the mighty name of Jesus.

54. Every evil altar where my time, my progress, and my breakthrough are being delayed, catch fire and burn to ashes, in the name of Jesus.

55. Powers programming delay into my marriage, my career, my finances, and my ministry, receive the judgement of God and die, in Jesus’ mighty name.

56. Every covenant of delay inherited from my father’s house or mother’s house, I break you by the blood of Jesus and declare myself free.

58. Every spirit of stagnation holding me in one position year after year, I command you to release me and die, in the mighty name of Jesus.

60. Every limitation placed upon my life by household wickedness, family curses, or territorial spirits, I break your power by the blood of Jesus.

61. O God, arise and disgrace every Goliath mocking my advancement and progress, in the mighty name of Jesus.

62. Every evil hand pressing me down and preventing me from rising, wither by fire, in the name of Jesus.

63. Powers that stopped my parents at a certain level and are now trying to stop me at the same level, your time is up; die by fire, in Jesus’ name.

64. O God, arise and turn my delays into testimonies and my stagnation into celebration, in the name of Jesus.

65. Father, let me experience in one day what others labour for in years. Release uncommon favour and acceleration upon my life, in the name of Jesus.

66. Every monitoring spirit watching my life to report to witchcraft covens, be struck blind and die, in the mighty name of Jesus.

67. Every information the enemy has gathered about me to use for my delay, I scramble it and render it useless by the blood of Jesus.

68. Every evil word spoken against my progress by witches, wizards, or jealous enemies, I nullify you by the blood of Jesus.

69. Every curse of delay and stagnation pronounced upon my life knowingly or unknowingly, I break your power, in the name of Jesus.

70. Every negative prophecy declared over my life that says I will never succeed or progress this year, I reject you and decree the opposite, in the name of Jesus.

71. Every evil pronouncement from my father’s house or mother’s house limiting my advancement, be reversed by the power in the blood of Jesus.

72. I decree that instead of delay, I receive speed. Instead of stagnation, I receive elevation. Instead of failure, I receive success, in Jesus’ mighty name.

73. Let every word of delay spoken against me return to the sender with double force, in the name of Jesus.

74. O God, arise and speak Your word over my life. Let Your voice silence every contrary voice speaking delay over my destiny, in the name of Jesus.

75. Every satanic verdict of “you will die before your breakthrough,” I overturn you and decree that I shall live to enjoy my inheritance, in Jesus’ name.

90. Every seed I have sown in tears, in faith, and in obedience, I command you to germinate and bring forth abundant harvest now, in the name of Jesus.

91. Father, I have prayed, I have fasted, I have sowed seeds, and I have waited. Now I command my harvest to manifest, in the name of Jesus.

92. I declare that delay is over in my life. Stagnation is finished. I am moving forward with supernatural speed, in the name of Jesus.

93. Every evil hand blocking my financial breakthrough and delaying my prosperity, wither by the fire of God, in the name of Jesus.

94. Powers diverting my blessings to wrong destinations and delaying my financial harvest, receive confusion and die, in Jesus’ mighty name.

95. Every spirit of poverty and lack causing financial stagnation in my life, I command you to die by fire, in the mighty name of Jesus.

96. Every spirit of delay assigned to postpone my marriage and keep me waiting beyond God’s timing, I destroy you by fire, in the name of Jesus.

97. I break every curse of late marriage, no marriage, or wrong marriage operating in my family lineage, in the mighty name of Jesus.

98. Every evil competition, jealousy, and conspiracy in my workplace delaying my promotion, be scattered by divine fire, in the name of Jesus.

99. Powers holding down my ministry growth, limiting my sphere of influence, and frustrating my spiritual impact, be destroyed by fire, in Jesus’ mighty name.

100. Every delay concerning the fruit of the womb, I command you to expire. Let conception, pregnancy, and safe delivery manifest speedily, in the name of Jesus.

101. O God, arise and promote me beyond my qualifications. Let favour and excellence distinguish me before kings and authorities, in the name of Jesus.

102. Every evil dream reinforcing delay and stagnation in my life, I cancel you and decree that you shall not manifest in my life this year, in the name of Jesus.

103. Powers visiting me in my sleep to steal my virtues, my glory, and my breakthrough, be arrested and destroyed, in the name of Jesus.

104. Every evil altar summoning me in the spirit realm to enforce delay, I disconnect from you and command your destruction, in the name of Jesus.

105. Powers using sickness to keep me stagnant, to drain my resources, and to frustrate my purpose, receive the judgement of God and die, in Jesus’ mighty name.

106. Every evil hand manipulating my examination results to cause delay and disappointment, wither by fire, in the name of Jesus.

107. Powers in my family foundation working against the progress of family members, receive fire and die, in the mighty name of Jesus.

108. O God, dispatch Your angels to recover everything the enemy has stolen from me through delay and stagnation, in the name of Jesus.

PRAYER ASSIGNMENT

Take hold of both your legs with your hands. As you hold them, begin to prophesy over them with boldness and authority. Anoint your feet and toes with oil, speaking the Word of God over every step you will take.

Declare with faith and conviction:

“My feet, I prophesy over you in the name of Jesus Christ. You shall not remain stagnant. You shall not be planted in one place. You are anointed to move forward into my prophetic destiny. Every place the sole of my foot treads upon, God has given to me. I am moving forward in divine speed and supernatural acceleration.”

“I declare that I am making progress in every area of my life spiritually, financially, economically, and professionally. No demonic delay can hold me back. No satanic stagnation can keep me bound. I am breaking through barriers and crossing over into my promised land.”

“I am victorious through Christ Jesus who gives me the victory. I am more than a conqueror. I am triumphant over every obstacle, every setback, and every opposition. My steps are ordered by the Lord, and I am walking in divine favour, divine timing, and divine breakthrough.”

“These feet shall carry me to places of blessing, promotion, and kingdom assignment. They shall walk on the heads of my enemies. They shall tread upon serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy. I am moving forward and I shall not be moved backward, in Jesus’s mighty name!”
