DAY 23: A CRY FOR MERCY TO ESTABLISH MY TESTIMONY
Psalm 51:1-2
Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
Psalm 40:1-3
I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.
Philippians 1:6
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.
Psalm 66:16
Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.
INTRODUCTION
Testimony is the open, visible evidence of our prayers and supplications answered by God. It is the tangible proof that God has heard our cry and responded with His power. Testimony transforms our private petitions into public demonstrations of divine faithfulness.
It moves our faith from the invisible realm of believing into the visible realm of experiencing. God desires that we have testimonies because they fulfill multiple kingdom purposes.
This is one reason He commands us to pray without ceasing, to fast with purpose, to praise and worship Him continually, to speak in tongues by the Spirit, and to maintain unwavering faith in Him. These spiritual disciplines position us to receive from God and create the atmosphere where testimonies are born.
Every testimony begins with a need, develops through prayer and faith, and culminates in divine intervention. When God answers prayer, He establishes testimony. When God performs miracles, He creates witnesses. When God delivers, heals, provides, or restores, He leaves behind evidence of His reality and power that cannot be denied.
There are countless believers who are standing at the very threshold of their testimony, yet it refuses to manifest in their lives. They have prayed fervently, waited patiently, believed consistently, and endured courageously yet their prayers appear to remain unanswered.
The delay is not because God is unfaithful, but because there are spiritual dynamics at work that must be addressed. Some people come within reach of their breakthrough only to lose it due to sin. Like Achan in the camp of Israel, hidden iniquity can prevent corporate and personal victory.
Sin creates a breach in our spiritual defenses through which the enemy gains legal access to hinder our testimonies. Unrepented sin, secret compromise, and hidden disobedience can abort a testimony that was already in motion.
Others receive their testimony briefly, only to watch it disappear after a short time. Their healing reverses immediately, their financial breakthrough evaporates, their restored relationships fall apart again, or their deliverance seems temporary.
This usually happens when testimonies are not properly guarded, when spiritual vigilance is abandoned after the initial victory, or when the root causes were never fully addressed. The enemy actively attacks, restricts, and aborts the prayers of believers so that their supplications struggle to produce fruit in their lives.
Satan understands the power of testimony better than many Christians do. He knows that one genuine testimony can destroy years of his deceptive work. Therefore, he assigns demonic forces to monitor prayer lives, block breakthrough, delay answers, steal blessings, and corrupt testimonies whenever possible.
Throughout Scripture, we see examples of individuals whose testimonies were established by divine mercy and intervention. Hannah’s Testimony: Hannah was barren and deeply distressed, mocked by her rival and misunderstood even by the priest.
She prayed with such intensity that Eli thought she was drunk. But God heard her cry and had mercy on her. He opened her womb, gave her Samuel, and established her testimony. Her reproach was removed, her sorrow turned to joy, and her testimony became a prophetic song that is still sung today.
God established Hannah’s testimony permanently, and she became the mother of a prophet who changed a nation. David fell into grievous sin of adultery and murder that could have destroyed his testimony permanently. Yet the hand of God upheld him.
Through genuine repentance, David received mercy and his testimony was restored. Though he faced consequences for his sin, God did not allow his entire testimony to be erased. David’s life remained a testimony of God’s grace, mercy, forgiveness, and restoration.
His psalms of repentance and restoration have comforted millions of believers throughout history. When God establishes a testimony, no power of the enemy can reverse it. This is a crucial truth that every believer must understand and stand upon.
Human effort produces temporary results, but divine establishment creates permanent transformation. What man builds, man can destroy; but what God establishes, no force in heaven, earth, or hell can overthrow. When God opens a door, no man can shut it.
When God heals, no sickness can return unless legal ground is given. When God delivers, the chains remain broken forever unless we willingly walk back into bondage. When God provides, the blessing carries a supernatural sustainability. When God establishes your testimony, it becomes a fixed reality in both the natural and spiritual realms.
This permanence, however, requires our cooperation. God establishes the testimony through His power, but we must maintain the testimony through our obedience, faithfulness, and spiritual vigilance. The establishment is His work; the preservation is our responsibility.
It is one thing to receive a testimony from God; it is entirely another thing to preserve that testimony over time. Many believers celebrate their breakthrough without understanding that the enemy will immediately begin working to steal, corrupt, or reverse what God has done. The spiritual battle does not end when you receive your answer, it ends when God overcome the battle.
When testimonies are not well preserved, the enemy can silence them. He can create circumstances that cause people to doubt what God did for you. He can bring shame or scandal that discredits the testimony. He can even cause the person to backslide into the very condition from which they were delivered.
He can even use time and neglect to cause the testimony to fade from memory. As you cry out for mercy today, you are following the pattern of biblical saints who received their testimonies through persistent, desperate appeals to God’s compassion.
Mercy is the key that unlocks testimonies. It is not about your worthiness, your perfection, or your achievement, it is about His grace, His love, and His willingness to intervene on behalf of those who call upon His name.
As you cry for mercy today, may the Lord establish your testimony in every area of your life. May your testimony be visible, verifiable, and permanent. May your waiting end with rejoicing. May your tears turn to triumph. May your private prayers become public praise.
May the Lord silence every voice that has mocked your faith and declared that your prayers would not be answered. May He confound those who said your situation was hopeless. May He demonstrate His power in your life in such a way that even your enemies must acknowledge that God is with you.
May your testimony be established in your health, your finances, your family, your relationships, your career, your ministry, and your spiritual life. May every area where the enemy has fought you become an area where God glorifies Himself through your testimony.
May you not only receive your testimony but also preserve it through wisdom, obedience, and spiritual vigilance. May your testimony endure for generations and become part of your spiritual legacy. May it bring glory to God, encouragement to believers, and salvation to the lost.
CONFESSION
I decree that every blessing You have given me shall not fail, shall not be reversed, and shall not be taken away. The blessings You have spoken over my life are “Yes” and “Amen” in Christ Jesus. What You have blessed, no man can curse. What You have established, no power can dismantle.
I declare that my testimony will not be aborted by the hand of the enemy. Every satanic conspiracy to cut short my testimony is nullified by the blood of Jesus. Every demonic plot to steal my testimony is frustrated by the fire of the Holy Spirit. Every strategy of darkness to delay the manifestation of my testimony is overthrown by divine intervention.
The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but I declare that he has no authority over my testimony. My testimony is guarded by angels, sealed by the Holy Spirit, and protected by the blood of the Lamb.
I declare that every incomplete work in my life is receiving divine completion. Every unfinished chapter is being written to a glorious conclusion. Every delayed promise is accelerating toward manifestation. Every prophetic word is coming to pass in its appointed time.
You are the Author and Finisher of my faith. You are the Alpha and Omega of my testimony. You are the Beginning and the End of my story. Therefore, I trust You to complete what concerns me and to perfect everything that pertains to my life and destiny.
My tongue shall proclaim Your mighty acts and wonderful works. My voice shall not be silenced, my testimony shall not be hidden, and my story shall not be buried.
I will tell of Your salvation from day to day. I will declare Your glory among the nations and Your wonders among all peoples. I will speak of Your marvelous deeds, Your loving-kindness, and Your tender mercies that are new every morning.
My testimony shall glorify Your name, not mine. My story shall point people to Your power, not my ability. My declaration shall draw the lost to salvation, strengthen the weak in faith, and encourage those who are struggling. My testimony shall be a weapon of warfare against the kingdom of darkness and a tool of evangelism for the kingdom of light.
I will not be ashamed of my testimony. I will not be intimidated into silence. I will not allow fear, shame, or discouragement to lock my testimony inside me. I shall declare with boldness: “Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will tell you what He has done for my soul!”
PRAISE AND WORSHIP
Begin by giving thanks to God for answered prayers and for what He is currently doing in your life. Now lift your voice in praise to God for showing you mercy and for restoring everything the enemy tried to steal from you.
Continue in praise, exalting God for the restoration He has brought and is bringing into your life.As you continue to worship, you may sing songs of praise, or simply speak words of adoration.
As you conclude your 15 minutes of worship, seal your time with this final declaration.
Lord, I thank You for this time in Your presence. I have worshipped You with my whole heart, and I know You have received my praise. As I go from this place of worship, let Your presence go with me. Let the joy of Your salvation remain in my heart.
Let the peace of Your Spirit guard my mind. Let the power of Your name rest upon my life. I declare that this is only the beginning, I will continue to praise You throughout this day and all the days of my life.
My mouth shall continually speak Your praise, and my heart shall forever worship You alone. You are worthy, Lord! You are glorious, Lord! You are faithful, Lord! You are my God, and I will exalt You forever! In Jesus’ mighty name, AMEN!
HYMN – When We Walk With The Lord
1 When we walk with the Lord
in the light of his word,
what a glory he sheds on our way!
While we do his good will,
he abides with us still,
and with all who will trust and obey.
Refrain:
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
2 Not a burden we bear,
not a sorrow we share,
but our toil he doth richly repay;
not a grief or a loss,
not a frown or a cross,
but is blest if we trust and obey.
3 But we never can prove
the delights of his love
until all on the altar we lay;
for the favor he shows,
for the joy he bestows,
are for them who will trust and obey.
4 Then in fellowship sweet
we will sit at his feet,
or we’ll walk by his side in the way;
what he says we will do,
where he sends we will go;
never fear, only trust and obey.

PRAYER ASSIGNMENT
For the next 24 hours, take these specific actions:
- Write Your Future Testimony: Spend time writing out the testimony you believe God is establishing not what is yet, but what shall be. Write it as though it has already happened, describing God’s faithfulness in past tense. Keep this written testimony where you can read it daily.
- Create a Testimony Journal: Begin documenting evidences of God’s work in your life, answered prayers, small victories, divine appointments, provision moments. These become building blocks of your greater testimony.
- Speak Your Testimony in Faith: At least three times today, verbally declare your testimony as though it is already established. Speak to the mountain, to the delay, to the opposition. Your faith-filled words activate spiritual forces.
- Share a Past Testimony: Contact someone and share a testimony of what God has already done in your life. This act of declaration strengthens your faith for the testimony being established now and encourages another believer.
- Consecrate Your Testimony to God: Formally dedicate to God any testimony He establishes in your life. Promise Him that you will use it for His glory, not your fame. Commit to being a faithful steward of your story.
May the Lord hear your cry for mercy and establish your testimony speedily! May your story become a weapon in the kingdom, a tool of evangelism, and a monument of God’s faithfulness. May people see your life and glorify the Father in heaven. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen!
