DAY 13: A CRY FOR MERCY TO SILENCE FAMILY ALTARS

Isaiah 28:18

And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.

INTRODUCTION

There are altars in many families that speak against the progress, peace, and prosperity of their descendants. These are not physical structures you can see with your natural eyes, but spiritual platforms erected by ancestors, relatives, or even current family members through their actions, covenants, and rebellions against God.

These altars operate as communication points between the earthly realm and the kingdom of darkness, continuously broadcasting decrees, judgements, and curses against family members across generations.

Family altars are ancient strongholds that have been feeding on the blood, tears, and destinies of innocent people. They are maintained through idol worship, witchcraft practices, evil covenants, sexual immorality, bloodshed, and other abominations committed within family lines.

When these altars remain active, they become legal grounds for the enemy to afflict, oppress, and limit the lives of those connected to that bloodline. They speak day and night, calling for judgement, poverty, sickness, premature death, marital failure, and every form of stagnation.

The Bible tells us in Genesis 4:10 that Abel’s blood cried out to God from the ground. If innocent blood can cry out for justice, how much more can evil altars cry out for destruction? These altars have voices. They petition dark powers against you.

They summon evil spirits to monitor and attack your progress. They release curses that follow family members from generation to generation, creating patterns of failure, tragedy, and limitation.

But today, we are not coming to these altars with fear or resignation. We are coming with a cry for mercy that will silence them forever. We are approaching the throne of the Almighty God, whose mercy triumphs over judgement.

We are pleading the blood of Jesus Christ, which speaks better things than the blood of Abel. We are invoking the consuming fire of the Holy Ghost that burns up every evil altar and scatters every gathering of darkness.

The mercy of God is our weapon today. When we cry out for mercy, we are not just asking God to forgive us; we are asking Him to overrule every satanic verdict, cancel every evil decree, and silence every altar that speaks against us.

God’s mercy is powerful enough to reach back into your ancestral past and dismantle altars that have been operating for hundreds of years. His mercy can break covenants made by people you never met. His mercy can erase curses written in the books of darkness concerning your family.

This is not a time for casual prayer. This is a time for desperate intercession. This is a time to cry out with tears, with fasting, with brokenness of spirit, asking God to have mercy on you and your family. When you cry for mercy, heaven responds.

When you plead the blood of Jesus over your family line, every evil altar loses its power. When you command these altars to be silenced in the name of Jesus, the fire of God descends to consume them.

Most of the problems affecting many people today are directly sponsored by family altars whether from the father’s house or the mother’s house. These altars continue to operate in the spiritual realm, enforcing ancient covenants, demanding sacrifices, and releasing curses upon descendants who know nothing about their existence.

In the old days, family altars were set up primarily for ancestral worship, to enforce covenants that would drive families away from the true God and lock them into the belief system of their family line.

It becomes a terrible tragedy when the person who set up an altar dies and no one in the family continues to serve the ancestral gods connected to that altar. The spiritual forces that were given legal ground through the original covenant become angry and vengeful.

They feel betrayed and abandoned, and they begin to attack family members with increased fury. This is why you see patterns of mysterious sickness, untimely death, frustration, and failure running through certain family lines, the family altar is in revolt.

It is equally tragic when people who do not understand the spiritual implications behind these altars attempt to uproot them physically without divine backing. You cannot simply demolish a family shrine or remove idols from your compound without spiritual authority and covering.

When family altars are confronted carelessly, they revolt with even greater violence. The spirits attached to these altars do not surrender their territory easily. They fight back against anyone who threatens their stronghold.

This is why it is absolutely critical that only a person sent by God with divine authority can truly silence a family altar. If there is no anointed deliverer raised up to confront and destroy these altars, they will keep putting people in bondage generation after generation.

The cycle will never break on its own. The altar will continue to speak, to demand, to curse, and to kill until someone with the power of God rises up to silence it forever. We see a perfect example of this in the life of Gideon. His father, Joash, owned an altar to Baal and an Asherah pole right in their family compound.

This altar had become a stronghold in Gideon’s family and in the entire nation of Israel. When God called Gideon to deliver Israel from the oppression of the Midianites, He did not immediately send him to fight the external enemy. Instead, God’s first command to Gideon was to destroy the family altar.

God said to Gideon in Judges 6:25-26, “Take your father’s bull, and the second bull seven years old, and pull down the altar of Baal that your father has, and cut down the Asherah that is beside it; and build an altar to the Lord your God on the top of this stronghold in an orderly manner.”

God knew that Gideon could never defeat Israel’s enemies while his own family altar still stood. The external oppression was connected to the internal altar. Until the altar was destroyed, Gideon’s destiny and Israel’s deliverance were both locked up.

This principle applies to your life today. If your family is not progressing despite everyone’s hard work and prayers, you need to cry for mercy. There is likely a family altar somewhere in your lineage that is speaking against your advancement.

If you notice that people in your family routinely get sick with strange illnesses that doctors cannot diagnose or cure, you need to cry for mercy and ask God for forgiveness on behalf of your ancestors. If family members keep dying prematurely at similar ages or under similar circumstances, this is not coincidence, it is a family altar executing its assignment.

If you look honestly at your life and discover that you are still stuck in the same position year after year despite your education, talent, and effort, you need to cry out for mercy. If you notice that firstborn children in your family consistently struggle or fail to reach their potential, there is a family altar speaking against the birthright blessing.

If you see that women in your family consistently suffer in their marriages, facing abuse, divorce, widowhood, or inability to marry at all, there is a family altar enforcing a covenant against feminine destiny in your bloodline.

If you observe that certain people in your family remain perpetually poor no matter how hard they work, while others outside your family line prosper with less effort, you are witnessing the operation of a poverty altar.

If there are patterns of mental illness, addiction, sexual immorality, or violence that keep repeating in your family tree, these are all signs that family altars are still active and speaking over your lineage.

In this season of fasting and prayer, it is absolutely crucial that you understand this truth: mercy can silence any kind of family altar, no matter how old, how powerful, or how established it may be. The mercy of God is greater than any covenant your ancestors made.

The blood of Jesus speaks better things than any sacrifice offered on family altars. When you cry out for mercy, you are appealing to a higher court than any ancestral agreement. You are invoking the supreme authority of heaven to overrule every satanic verdict issued against your family.

But you must approach this battle correctly. First and foremost, you must be born again. You cannot fight spiritual battles effectively while living in sin and rebellion against God. Your life must be surrendered completely to Jesus Christ.

You must confess Him as Lord and Savior, repent of your sins, and receive the cleansing power of His blood. Without this foundation, you have no spiritual authority to confront family altars. Secondly, you must rededicate your life and your entire family to God.

This is not a casual prayer, it is a deliberate act of covenant-breaking and covenant-making. You are renouncing every evil covenant made by your ancestors and entering into a new covenant with the living God through Jesus Christ. You are transferring your family from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of God’s dear Son.

Thirdly, you must physically and spiritually pull down and destroy the altars of Baal in your family. If there are actual physical shrines, idols, or objects of worship in your family compound or ancestral home, they must be removed and destroyed.

But understand this: you cannot do this in your own strength. You must be sent by God, covered by the blood of Jesus, and empowered by the Holy Spirit. Fast and pray before taking any physical action. Seek God’s specific instructions about how and when to act. Then move with divine authority, not with presumption.

Spiritually, you must declare your separation from every evil altar and its operations. You must renounce every ancestral covenant, cancel every evil dedication, and break every generational curse. You must plead the blood of Jesus over your life and your family line. You must command every family altar to be silenced, every evil priest to be judged, and every satanic sacrifice to lose its power.

As you do this in faith, believing in the power of God to deliver you, know this truth with certainty: you are free. Every chain is broken. Every curse is cancelled. Every altar is destroyed. The voice of darkness is silenced, and the voice of the blood of Jesus is speaking mercy, blessing, and liberty over your life.

No family altar, no matter how ancient, how powerful, or how well-established can stand against the finished work of Calvary. Jesus Christ has already defeated every power and principality. He has disarmed every ruler of darkness. He has given you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy. When you stand in that authority and cry out for mercy, heaven responds with fire, and every family altar crumbles to dust.

As you engage in these prayer points, understand that you are not fighting alone. The Holy Spirit is interceding with you. Angels are being dispatched on your behalf. The blood of Jesus is speaking mercy over your situation.

Today marks the beginning of the end for every family altar that has been speaking against your destiny. Today, the mouth of darkness is shut. Today, the voice of your family’s ancient enemies is silenced. Today, mercy prevails over judgement, and you step into the freedom that Christ purchased for you on the cross.

Today is your day of deliverance. Today, the grip of ancestral altars is broken over your life. Today, you step out of the shadow of your family’s past and into the glorious light of your destiny in Christ. You are no longer bound by what your ancestors did or did not do. You are a new creation in Christ Jesus. Old things have passed away, and all things have become new.

Stand firm in this truth. Walk boldly in your freedom. And remember always that the mercy of God has spoken the final word over your life, and that word is FREEDOM.

CONFESSION

O Lord my God, I come before Your throne acknowledging that You are greater than every family altar, every ancestral covenant, and every generational stronghold. There is no altar in my bloodline that can stand against Your supreme authority. You are the Most High God, and at the mention of Your name, every other power must bow.

Father, I cry out for Your mercy today over my life and destiny. By Your abundant mercy, silence every voice speaking against my life from family altars. Let every evil pronouncement, every satanic decree, and every wicked verdict issued against me from ancestral altars be cancelled and rendered powerless right now. I command every altar crying out for my failure, my stagnation, my bondage, and my destruction to be silenced forever by the blood of Jesus Christ.

Lord, I plead the precious blood of Jesus over every sin committed by my ancestors that has given legal ground to family altars. Forgive me and my family for every act of sin, idolatry, witchcraft, covenant with darkness, sexual perversion, bloodshed, and rebellion against You.

Father, by the authority given to me in Christ Jesus, I disconnect myself completely from every ancestral demand placed upon my life. I renounce and reject every sacrifice made on my behalf at family altars. I break every evil dedication, every satanic initiation, and every demonic assignment flowing from my bloodline into my present life. I am no longer under the authority of these altars; I am under the authority of Jesus Christ alone.

Lord, I receive divine liberty and total freedom from every form of ancestral bondage. Where my ancestors were in covenant with demons, I break that covenant now by the superior covenant of Jesus’ blood. Where they made agreements with darkness, I cancel those agreements by the light of Christ. Where they established patterns of failure, poverty, sickness, and defeat, I declare that those patterns are destroyed in my generation.

Father, let Your covenant speak for me louder than any ancestral covenant. Let the blood of Jesus speak better things over my life than the blood of animals sacrificed at family altars. Let Your Word be my inheritance instead of generational curses. Let Your promises define my future instead of ancestral limitations. Let Your mercy cover every area where my forefathers’ sins have exposed me to spiritual attack.

Lord, I declare that I am a new creation in Christ Jesus, old things have passed away, and all things have become new. The old ancestral contracts are null and void. The old family patterns are broken and dissolved. I am no longer a slave to generational bondage; I am a child of the Most High God, redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.

Father, establish Your altar in my life and in my family line. Let the altar of praise replace the altar of darkness. Let the altar of righteousness replace the altar of wickedness. Let the altar of prayer replace the altar of evil sacrifices. Let my life become a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to You, this is my true and proper worship.

I thank You, Lord, for hearing my cry for mercy. I thank You for silencing every evil altar speaking against me. I thank You for the blood of Jesus that cleanses me from all ancestral sin. I thank You for the freedom and liberty You have granted me today. I receive it all by faith, and I walk forward in the confidence that no weapon formed against me shall prosper.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, I pray and decree. Amen.

PRAISE AND WORSHIP

Take the next 10 to 15 minutes to worship the Lord with all your heart. Do not rush this time. Do not treat it as a mere formality. This is sacred ground you are preparing. As you worship, you are building a platform for God’s power to manifest. You are inviting the Holy Spirit to take control of your prayer session. You are positioning yourself in the presence of the One who has all authority in heaven and on earth.

(DAY 13): A CRY FOR MERCY TO SILENCE FAMILY ALTARS – Prayer Points

1. O God of mercy, arise and silence every family altar speaking against my destiny, in the name of Jesus.

2. By Your mercy, O Lord, I revoke every authority backing ancestral altars in my lineage, in the name of Jesus.

3. Every altar demanding sacrifice, delay or suffering from my life, lose your hold over me now, in the name of Jesus.

4. Father, forgive us of the sin that gave the family altars strength to keep attacking us, in the name of Jesus.

5. Every altar reacting against my progress, be silenced permanently, in the name of Jesus.

6. Every ancient altar of darkness resisting deliverance in my lineage, die by fire, in the name of Jesus.

7. O God of mercy, let every family altar speaking against my next level and plans, be silenced now, in the name of Jesus.

40. Every family altar that has kept us in bondage to certain spirits for generations, be destroyed by the fire of the Holy Ghost, in the name of Jesus.

41. Every evil covenant made by my parents at family altars before my birth, be cancelled by the power in the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.

42. Every evil priest standing at family altars to curse my destiny, receive the judgement of fire, in the name of Jesus.

43. Every family altar that has been broadcasting evil signals into my life, be destroyed by divine thunder, in the name of Jesus.

44. Every family idol that my relatives still consult for direction, lose your power over my destiny, in the name of Jesus.

45. O Lord, have mercy and destroy every evil shrine in my family compound working against me, in the name of Jesus.

46. Father, let Your mercy break every calabash or container holding my virtues captive at family altars, in the name of Jesus.

47. O Lord, let Your mercy destroy every evil chain connecting me to family altars, in the name of Jesus.

48. Father, have mercy and turn every evil altar in my bloodline to ashes that cannot be rebuilt, in the name of Jesus.

49. Father, let Your mercy blind every evil eye monitoring my life through family altars, in the name of Jesus.

50. Father, have mercy and silence every altar that activates trouble during specific times of the year against me, in the name of Jesus.

Conclusion

As you have prayed these powerful prayer points, know that heaven has heard your cry. The mercy of God is greater than every evil altar, stronger than every generational curse, and more powerful than every satanic covenant. The blood of Jesus has spoken on your behalf, and that blood speaks better things than anything the enemy has ever said about you or your family.

Every family altar that has been operating against you has lost its voice today. The fire of God has consumed them. The thunder of heaven has shattered them to pieces. The mercy of God has overruled them. You are now disconnected from every evil altar in your family line, and their power over your destiny has been permanently broken.

Walk forward in the freedom that Christ has purchased for you. Stand firm in the knowledge that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgement shall be condemned. This is your heritage as a servant of the Lord, and your righteousness is from God. The altars are silenced. The curses are broken. The covenants are nullified. You are free in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen

PRAYER ASSIGNMENT

Take a clean sheet of paper and write down the name of your village, hometown, or place of origin clearly at the top. If you come from multiple ancestral locations, you may write all of them on the same paper. This is a prophetic act that brings spiritual focus to your prayers and connects you directly to the spiritual atmosphere over your place of origin.

After praying intensely, declare out loud:

“I am free from every family altar in my village. No ancestral covenant shall control me again from my father’s or mother’s house. No generational curse shall hinder me. I belong to Jesus Christ alone. The blood of Jesus has purchased my freedom. I walk in divine liberty. My destiny is secure in God’s hands. Every family altar speaking against me is silenced forever. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen!”
