DAY 10: A CRY FOR MERCY OVER MY FAULTY FOUNDATION
Isaiah 43:18-19
Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
Ezekiel 13:14
I will tear down the wall you have covered with whitewash and will level it to the ground so that its foundation will be laid bare.
Exodus 33:19
And the Lord said, ‘I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the Lord, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.
Galatians 3:13
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
INTRODUCTION
Foundation is the genesis, the starting point, the root system of everything that manifests in your life. Every structure, whether physical or spiritual, begins from a foundation. No one descended to earth from heaven fully formed, we all came through a process, through a lineage, through a foundation that was laid before we arrived.
The quality of your foundation will determine how long your life’s building will stand, how high it can rise, and how much weight it can carry. When the foundation is bad, everything built upon it becomes vulnerable.
The Bible poses a sobering question in Psalm 11:3: “If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” This is not just a rhetorical question, it’s a reality many believers are living with right now. You can be righteous, prayerful, faithful, and still struggle if your foundation is compromised.
A person operating on a weak foundation may never enjoy rest or peace of mind. Such a person will be perpetually troubled by issues that seem to have no natural explanation. The storms of life hit their house harder than others, and the battles they face are more intense than what others experience.
Psalm 11:3 asks a penetrating question: “If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?”
This Scripture reveals a profound truth: even righteous people, godly people, praying people, can struggle and suffer if their foundation is compromised. Your foundation determines:
- How far you can go in life
- How long your success will last
- How well you will flourish in your endeavors
- How much impact you will make in your generation
- How stable your achievements will remain
A solid foundation produces lasting results, sustained breakthroughs, and generational blessings. But a faulty foundation produces instability, repeated failures, unexplained struggles, and inherited limitations that seem impossible to overcome.
A faulty foundation is like a magnet that attracts battles, problems, setbacks, and inexplicable struggles. It can fight against your glory, rise up against your star, swallow your destiny whole, and keep you perpetually stagnant no matter how much effort you exert.
Let me be honest with you today: many believers are operating on weak, compromised, or evil foundations without even knowing it.
They pray, they fast, they sow seeds, they attend church faithfully, yet they experience sudden collapses after periods of progress, hard labor with little or no results despite maximum effort, repeated cycles of failure in the same areas, mysterious obstacles that appear whenever breakthrough is near, unexplained battles that don’t respond to ordinary prayers and inherited problems that have plagued the family for generations
The problem is not necessarily the person’s prayer life, name, or work ethic. The problem is actually the foundation. A person operating on a faulty foundation will start well but finish poorly, pray fervently but experience limited breakthroughs, possess great potential but live in perpetual struggle, fast and pray, and feels the person has never prays or fast.
This is not God’s will for your life. This is the manifestation of a foundational problem that needs divine intervention. But beloved, I have good news for you today! When mercy comes, when divine mercy locates your foundation, that inherited force of problems loses its grip over you. Mercy is the master key that unlocks foundational bondages.
When God showed mercy to Abraham, He didn’t just bless him with wealth and children; He went deeper than that. God corrected Abraham’s foundation by cutting a covenant with him, establishing a new spiritual lineage that would override every curse and limitation from his past.
When God showed mercy to Jacob, He didn’t just prosper him with flocks and herds; He changed his name from Jacob the deceiver to Israel the prince with God, completely resetting his destiny foundation and breaking the patterns of manipulation and struggle that had defined his family line.
This is what mercy does in the life of a person. It repairs what sin has damaged. It restores what the enemy has stolen. It rebuilds what has been broken down through generations of spiritual negligence, ancestral covenants, and family curses.
When you cry out for mercy over your foundation, and when God answers that cry, healing begins to take place at the root level of your existence. It’s not just surface-level blessing; it’s foundational transformation that liberates not just you but your entire family line going forward.
Today’s program is not primarily about warfare, though deliverance will certainly come. This is not about shouting at demons or engaging in loud spiritual combat. Today is about something deeper and more powerful, it’s about crying for change. It’s about crying for the healing of your foundation.
It’s about crying for restoration at the deepest level of your spiritual DNA. Do you have problems that clearly emanated from your father’s house? Are there patterns of failure, premature death, mental illness, poverty, or marital destruction that you can trace back through your paternal lineage?
Or perhaps the attacks are coming from your mother’s house where curses spoken by ancestors, covenants made by grandmothers involved in witchcraft, dedications performed at shrines when you were too young to resist?
Maybe you keep seeing yourself in your village in dreams, trapped in that old house, surrounded by dead relatives who seem to be holding meetings about your life. Perhaps you’re experiencing constant delays; everything in your life takes longer than it should, opportunities slip away at the last moment, and you feel like you’re running in place while others are moving forward.
Maybe stagnation has become your portion; you’ve been stuck at the same level for years, making no progress despite your best efforts, watching younger people overtake you, feeling like there’s an invisible ceiling you cannot break through.
Do you sense that your entire family is bound to some form of captivity, a collective bondage where everyone struggles with the same issues, faces similar obstacles, and experiences the same patterns of defeat?
If any of this resonates with your experience, then today is your day of mercy. I want you to cry out to God right now, not with religious formality, but with the desperation of someone who knows they cannot fix this problem on their own. Cry out for deliverance from every foundational curse.
Cry out for the healing of every crack in your spiritual foundation. Cry out for the mercy that resets destinies and rewrites family histories. And I prophesy to you right now in the name of Jesus Christ: He will deliver you today!
The God who showed mercy to Abraham and changed his foundation will show mercy to you. The God who renamed Jacob and reset his destiny will rename your situation and reset your foundation. Every inherited problem will lose its grip.
Every ancestral curse will be broken. Every family pattern of failure will be shattered. And a new foundation – solid, secure, and blessed will be established in your life from this day forward, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ!
CONFESSION
O Lord, I recognize that every foundation crumbles without the support of Your mercy. I confess every known and unknown error and sin that has weakened my spiritual foundation. I refuse to hide from Your light. I receive Your mercy to uproot, correct, and rebuild my foundation in Christ. I disconnect my destiny from every faulty foundation. From today, my foundation is reset by the mercy of God, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
PRAISE AND WORSHIP
Take 5-10 minutes to worship God and thank Him for repairing your faulty foundation
HYMN – Rock Of Ages, Cleft For Me
1 Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
let me hide myself in thee;
let the water and the blood,
from thy wounded side which flowed,
be of sin the double cure;
save from wrath and make me pure.
2 Not the labors of my hands
can fulfill thy law’s demands;
could my zeal no respite know,
could my tears forever flow,
all for sin could not atone;
thou must save, and thou alone. 2026 spiritual calendar
3 Nothing in my hand I bring,
simply to the cross I cling;
naked, come to thee for dress;
helpless, look to thee for grace;
foul, I to the fountain fly;
wash me, Savior, or I die.
4 While I draw this fleeting breath,
when mine eyes shall close in death,
when I soar to worlds unknown,
see thee on thy judgment throne,
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
let me hide myself in thee.
Instruction. Place your right hand on your head or chest and say this. O Lord, let Your mercy flow into my foundation, in the name of Jesus.
