Hebrews 4:16
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”
Philippians 1:6
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
Romans 6:14
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
Matthew 24:13
But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
John 8:36
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
INTRODUCTION
Beloved, as we approach the completion of this 40-day fasting journey, I want you to understand a profound truth: the same mercy that brought you to this point is the very mercy that will carry you across the finish line and sustain you all the way to your eternal destination.
Many people begin the race of faith with great enthusiasm and high expectations, but only those who are sustained by divine mercy actually finish well. Your own strength, no matter how impressive it may seem, will eventually fail you. But God’s mercy never runs out, it endures forever.
Throughout Scripture, we see countless examples of people who started their spiritual journey with tremendous promise but could not maintain their course to the end. King Saul began his reign clothed in divine favour and anointing, yet he ended his life in tragic rejection and defeat. David, though he fell into grievous sin, was restored and repositioned by mercy.
Peter denied the Lord Jesus three times in His darkest hour, yet mercy lifted him up and made him a pillar of the early church. The Apostle Paul suffered persecution, shipwreck, imprisonment, and countless hardships, yet mercy strengthened him daily until he could boldly declare at the end of his life, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”
The enemy of your soul is a cunning strategist. He knows that if he cannot stop you from starting your spiritual journey, he will shift his tactics and focus all his efforts on preventing you from finishing. This is why so many believers experience their greatest battle not at the beginning of their breakthrough, but right at the threshold of their victory.
When discouragement weighs upon your heart and you feel like giving up, it is mercy that revives your spirit. When you grow weary in doing good and wonder if your sacrifice is worth it, it is mercy that infuses you with fresh strength. When the enemy summons you into unexpected trouble and surrounds you with impossibilities, it is mercy that delivers you and makes a way of escape.
The Word of God assures us that He who has begun a good work in you is faithful to complete it until the day of Christ Jesus. This is not automatic, however. You must continually position yourself to receive fresh mercy every single day. You must daily humble yourself before the throne of grace, acknowledging your absolute dependence upon Him.
The very moment you begin to trust in your own strength, your own wisdom, or your own abilities is the moment you set yourself up for devastating failure. Pride opens the door to a fall, but humility keeps you standing in His grace.
When you depend completely and unreservedly on God’s mercy, you position yourself in the flow of His supernatural favour and provision. This is not a one-time decision but a daily discipline. Develop the habit of crying out to God regularly, not only when crises arise or when you are desperate.
Let your entire life become a continuous cry for mercy that ascends to heaven like incense: “O Lord, sustain me! Keep me from falling! Hold me in Your strong hand! Strengthen me when I am weak!” As you maintain this posture of humble dependence and keep crying out for His mercy day by day, I prophesy to you that you will finish well and you will finish strong.
Your testimony will not be cut short. Your victory will not be stolen. You shall cross the finish line with joy, and your latter end shall be greater than your beginning!
CONFESSION
I boldly declare that the mercy of God will sustain me from this day forward until I complete my race and fulfill my divine destiny. I shall not quit. I shall not give up. I shall not compromise to the end. I shall not settle for anything less than God’s perfect will for my life.
I confess that the same God who began a good work in me is faithful to complete it. He will perfect all that concerns me, and His mercy toward me endures forever. Every unfinished blessing shall be completed. Every delayed promise shall be fulfilled. I will finish my race with joy, strength, and satisfaction.
PRAISE AND WORSHIP
Spend 10–15 intentional minutes in deep worship before the Lord. Thank Him sincerely for how far He has brought you through battles you saw and victories you did not even know He fought for you. Sing songs that declare His faithfulness, His sustaining grace, and His power to keep you standing.
Let your worship come from a grateful and dependent heart. As you lift up your hands in surrender to God, declare with conviction: “O Lord, thank You for given me the grace to begin and end the fasting successfully and with testimony. Thank You for sustaining me to the end of the fasting by Your mercy.”
Hymn : Hold The Fort
1 Ho! my comrades, see the signal,
Waving in the sky!
Reinforcements now appearing,
Victory is nigh!
Chorus:
“Hold the fort, for I am coming,”
Jesus signals still,
Wave the answer back to Heaven,
“By Thy grace we will.”
2 See the mighty host advancing,
Satan leading on;
Mighty men around us falling,
Courage almost gone.
3 See the glorious banner waving,
Hear the bugle blow;
In our Leader’s Name we triumph
Over every foe.
4 Fierce and long the battle rages,
But our help is near;
Onward comes our great Commander,
Cheer, my comrades, cheer!

PRAYER ASSIGNMENT
Prayerfully study Isaiah 41:10, Psalm 23, Isaiah 40, Hebrews 12, and Jude 1. Read them slowly and meditate on the promises of God concerning strength, endurance, and divine preservation. Take time to examine yourself sincerely. Identify any area of your life where you feel weak, discouraged, tempted, distracted, or spiritually weary. Do not ignore those areas, bring them before the Lord.
Lay your right hand upon your head and declare with faith: “By the mercy of God, I receive fresh strength to continue. I receive grace to endure. I receive power to finish well and finish strong, in the name of Jesus.”
Today, be intentional about avoiding spiritual fatigue. Reduce unnecessary distractions. Guard your mind. Create moments of quiet reflection. Protect your spiritual energy and focus on God’s presence. Let this day be a day of renewal, strengthening, and divine refreshing.
