DAY 4 DRAW ME NEARER TO YOU O LORD
Today is DAY 4 of the 21 days MIDNIGHT PRAYERS.
TIME: 12:00am -1:00am (Nigerian Time). Kindly start the prayers at exactly 12:00am
I went to visit a school friend sometimes ago. On getting to his room, there was this particular Christian song this brother usually love to play and the song has touched my spirit. Here it is:
NEARER TO THEE
Nearer to thee, nearer to thee Lord
Draw me nearer, nearer to thee
oh, my songs every, father draw me nearer
draw me nearer, nearer to thee
Closer to thee, closer to thee Lord
draw me closer, closer to thee
oh, my songs everyday, father draw me closer
draw me closer, closer to thee
This song should be a daily song of Christian of this generation. It is a song to reaffirm our closeness to God.
James 4:8 says; “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”
The blunt truth is this: It is very certain that many people are very far away from God. Despite their closeness and relationship with the Almighty God. God is looking at some people and denied knowing them. In Luke 13:27 says, ”But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity”.
Look at this verse in Acts 19:15 “And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?”
The Bible says; “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: ” (John 10: 27).
Brethren, it is a terrible thing to stay a big distance away from God. There is a great grace to draw closer to God no matter the challenges of life. It is the grace that helps us to establish ourselves with God.
Moses established a good relationship with God and God was always there for Moses in the time of trouble, affliction and captivity. God used Moses in a mighty way to warn his people not break His law Ex 19:20-24. Sin is the only thing that can bring punishment to a man.
LISTEN: There is an aspect of a true relationship with God which has been neglected by many. Some people think they are closer to God but at the end, God will tell them because of certain things they did or failed to do, God cannot move closer to them. But there are some people that are very closer to God and through that God has been helping them. Along the line, one certain sin will put a FULL STOP to their divine blessings.This is where living a life of secret sin is the most dangerous. Brethren you will be surprised when God start to show you those things that disallow Him not to operate in your life freely. What have you been doing that nobody knows about? Deal with them today.
Being prayerful is not only a guarantee that God will move closer to you. Openness is the key that can makes God to tlisten to you. Truthfulness is what will set you free (John 8:32). One area Satan have used successfully against the children of God is to give them false belief or reason that God is with them whereas they are the ones (Satan) in charge. (2 Cor 11:14,Ps 19:12). This is the area so many people have been calling on God in their quiet time, deliverance programs, on the mountain, no single voice or response from the Almighty God concerning their case. Why? Because of sin. Perhaps the bad things or thoughts in their spirit! GET RID OF THEM!
I want to ask you a very salient question tonight. Do you think you are still closer to God, very far from God or not being connected at all? Your sincere answers to these questions will determine whether God is nearer to you or not.
When a lady keeps praying over and over again without no result. It could be God is far away from her. When a man is crying to God for a major breakthrough yet no solution, it could also be that he has offended God somewhere. I trust the name of God for one thing, He is a merciful and forgiving God. He will have mercy on you in Jesus name. God did not like to help people that will turn deaf ear to His commands. When God is not with you in that battle, you will fight in vain. But when you challenge the devil using the name of Jesus, sometimes God may not respond but He will definitely honour you by calling his name. Tonight is the night for you to check out the areas you are not getting right with God and immediately make amend. There are few signs that indicate God is with you.
1. God will speak or reveal things to you (1 Cor 2:10)
2. He will encourage you (Isaiah 41:10)
3. He will give you a divine direction
4. He will ask you to do good to others
5. He will ask you to pray more or restart your fasting and prayers exercise
6. Despite your title, position, or wealth, He will be telling you to re-examine your spiritual life
7. He will provide for your needs
8. He will cover your shame etc
Brethren, if you are seeing these signs, be rest assured that God is with you. Be strong and do not be discouraged at all (Deut 31:6).
CONFESSION: Isaiah 55:6-7 says, ”Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.”
SELF-EXAMINATION: Brethren watch out for 3 things that could make God to keep distancef from you. 1. Disobedient to God 2.Unforgiveness 3. Sinful lifestyle
DECLARATION: According to your word in John 15:7, ”If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you”.
INSTRUCTION: Worship God (5-10minutes). Tell God that you are sorry for the art of disobedient, bad attitude and sinful lifestyle. (name them)
PRAYER POINTS
1. Jesus Christ 7 times, draw me closer to you in Jesus name
2. Holy Spirit, help me to avoid sin at all cost and Satan’s tool of ignorance, in Jesus name (Pray it 5 times)
3. O Lord my God, how excellence is your name! Reveal more of yourself to me tonight, in the name of Jesus (Pray it well)
4. My father, whatever is in me that is chasing away your divine presence and visitation, I uproot it now in the name of Jesus. (Pray it with understanding)
5. Father, remember me and let people celebrate your glory in my life this year, give me adequate compensation for all the evils I had seen, in the name of Jesus.
6. My Father, you can visit me in just one day, laugh at my enemies and let them shamefully restore what they have stolen from me seven folds, in the name of Jesus. (Pray it with authority)
7. Father show up in my case tonight and give me reward of my closeness to you. Let people know that you are my God, in the name of Jesus. (Pray it 21 times)
8. O Heavens, look unto me, the Author and the Finisher of my faith. Move closer to me for good and make me a partaker of your divine prophecy this year, in the name of Jesus.
9. Lord, remember all my offerings and sowings, O Lord heal all my sicknesses, give me victory over my enemies, in the name of Jesus. (Cry out to God if you are led)
10. Father remember my service in your house, your remembered Zachariah and gave him John the Baptist, give me my own child (blessing), in the name of Jesus. (If you are a woman, lay your hands on your womb)
11. O Lord, as you visit me this year, let my life experience uncommon favour wherever I go, in the name of Jesus.
12. The sin that makes God to stay away from me (Adam & Eve), shall not be my god or hinder my progress. I arrest you tonight, in the name of Jesus.(Pray it with Psalm 41:4)
13. O Lord my father, do not place a total curse upon me and my generation because of my sin. Forgive me tonight, in the name of Jesus. (Jer 17:5)
14. My Father, draw me closer to you by your hand of love. Draw me closer to my marriage. Draw me closer to my business, draw me closer to my helpers, draw me closer to the right prophet, in Jesus name.
15. O heavens, root out every practice of sin in charge of my case, in the name of Jesus. (List out those sins and deal with them Oba 1:17)
16. Strange power attacking me in strange ways, because God is not with me, presence of the living God, arise and destroy them, in the name of Jesus. (cry to God)
17. Any spirit of eve (sin) that want God to chase me away in the place of my blessings, BE ARRESTED! BE CRUSHED TO THE GARDEN OF SHAME, IN JESUS NAME.
18. Power of ”complete trust in the Lord’, overshadow me tonight. My faith in You O Lord shall connect me to the throne of mercy, in the name of Jesus.
19. Every confusion of heaven over my lifestyle here on earth, father have mercy on me, come nearer to me, in the name of Jesus. (Pray it well)
20. O Lord I shall not pray in vain, fast in failure and praise God in futility during this 21 days midnight prayers, in the name of Jesus. (Pray it till your spirit ask you to stop)
